Zero Tolerance policies I thought were put in place to stop parents from complaining that their children were treated differently than others. IE One instance a child gets ISS followed by a similiar incident where a child gets expelled. It makes all violations equal.

I am not advocating for ZT policies.

The problem with policies, regulation & legislation is too often people don't consider what will be the consequences of this to address the situation that seems to warrant the need AND what will be the consequences in the future.

The last part too often seems to be neglected in the process.

A good teacher is grossly underpaid. They are also quite rare. They will never get the recognition and compensation they deserve as long as they support the teachers' unions, and in turn support poor to mediocre teachers.

A couple of years ago my son had a teacher, and after the first few days of school, he cam home and seemed worried. He told me he was afraid he might be smarter than his teacher. After reading a couple of notes she sent home, and a brief conversation with her, I fully agreed with his assessment. How was he supposed to learn anything from her?

The whole reason zero tolerance policies were implemented was because the teachers and staff are too damn stupid to handle things on a case by case. They lack the collective intelligence to sit down and hear all the facts, then make a fair and honest judgment on the matter.

In the future, look for zero tolerance policies for the rest of us. It's obvious that DA's and judges across the land are suffering from the same bassackward stupidity and sheer incompetence.

If a kid without a disability was named Hunter, would they make him change his name? I doubt it. Sounds like discrimination to me. While "zero tolerance" may be (a really stupid) school policy, discrimination is against federal law. I'm sure this school will be hearing from a disability law attorney.
