New Sig 716

I was just looking at these I'm jealous :) no one around here has em in stock :/

Specialty Arms II had this one. Said they just got it in. I snapped it up quick!

I called all over town to every gun store that sponsors this site and then some. All sold out except Specialty Arms II. They still had 3 or 4 .308's left of various brands (think 2 were bushmaster, 1 DPMS, can’t recall the other) and even a 308 FN SCAR when I left last night.

I was the last one out the door and my FFL took about 1hr 20 mins because they were so backed up. Needless to say, I kept them there after their closing hours. lol

It was crowded up there! I seen folks buying multiple guns at one time.

Anyway, seems there are a handful of AR15’s left in local stores, Wal-Mart seemed to be sold out in Murfreesboro, and Specialty Arms II is the only one I know of with any 308’s.

screw breaking it in...sell it for $3300+ on gunbroker and buy another later ;-D

Edit:  My friend bought one at Gander about the same time you bought yours...their price was $1900 which for Gander I thought was really good. (im trying to convince him to sell his too lol)

Nah, bought this one for myself because I wanted to add some semi auto 308's to my collection. Hopefully no new gun bans or silly regs will happen and demand will drop off so I can find parts to finish my MEGA MATEN build. Then I'll have two 308's! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The cost/benefit ratio kept me away from piston gun's till I recently found a deal worth while. To say it runs cleaner seems to be an understatement. I was able to clean my BCG and receiver with a rag. Maybe I'll get carrier tilt or whatever other issues piston guns have but so far I'm impressed. Now, I still love my DI guns and wouldn't hesitate choosing one over the piston.

Congrats,I love my 716,I really enjoy shooting it.Added a JP Brake to it,and a Millet 14x50 its amazing. The piston system is smooth, easy to clean.being able to suppress and un suppress the gas system is great. Its heavy as hell but thats probably the worst thing about it.Enjoy !!

Here is my Sig 716 Parole in ODG. AMD mount, IOR 3-18 scope, will be putting a Trijicon RMR with an offset mount once I save up some money.  Before anyone says, "Hey your mount is on backwards", I know it is. Had to mount it that way because of the short eye relief on the IOR.

Mounted my temporary Leupold 3-9x40 on the 308 Sig Sauer Sig 716.

This is the same scope I abused on my AR50-A1 50 BMG until I got a new scope for it. This is probably the cheapest lowest tier scope Leupold builds and it is holding up great and has nice bright clear glass.

FWIW...

Since the Nikon scope on my Colt 5.56 (M-223 3-12x42 BDC 600) has worked out so well, my plans are to get a Nikon M-308 4-16x42 with BDC 800 for the Sig 716.

How does the furniture and upper/lower fit together on the 716? I have the Sig 556r (7.62x39 variant) and she runs like a scalded dog, accurate too. My only knock is there is a lot of play between the upper and lower (I have an accu wedge that takes out most of it). And the handguard fit leaves a lot to be desired, have tape where it meets the gas block.
