"Conservatism, it stated in part, believes in “preserving traditional moral values by restricting personal freedoms” while liberalism is for “equality and personal freedom for everyone.”

Ya have kids in school, get involved, they are being taught what the left is seeing as "their view".

Had to change this.....the Liberals, want to make everyone happy.  Whatever is right for you is good for us as long as WE are in charge.....no morals, no religion, no right or wrong....no good,  no bad....no need to work........lets just all sit in the same basket.  we'll make it work!!!   DWEEBS.....every last one of them....These people make me GLAD I'm 60 years old...sure does suck for the younger generation.

This is exactly why we, even on a single income, start home school at the end of this school year.

Good for you guys!  It is really a fun thing to do as well, I enjoyed it and so did my kids.  Raised 3 good men and they will do the same with there children.

Home schooling is the best alternative to indoctrination.

Not for much longer, if Common Core Curricula gets embedded completely. Those guidelines affect even home

schoolers. Kids won't be able to get into colleges or say they have passed high school levels without complying

with it.

Congratulations. I know it must be a source of pride and comfort for you knowing that you did right by them and gave them the chance to be the best they could without being brainwashed by the current "educational system."

And I do use that term loosely and with more than a touch of scarcasm.

After hearing the comments the other day about the feds thinking the childred were basically theirs, not belonging to the parents bs; I wouldn't think it would be long before we are told that only federally accredited "teachers" would be acceptable to conduct any sort of "schooling."

With this government is all attitude, it's only a matter of time.

Something I learned a few years back that may or may not surprise you....

Did you know that, even though you are your kids' parent, you are not their legal guardian, unless you go through the courts?

Bizarre.

At my grandfathers' death, he left an amount of money in his will for my son for education. It was not disburseable (releaseable to him, as a minor, nor me, as his father) until I went to court and had the judge declare me his legal guardian.

I have all sorts of questions about that, but thats how it is.

Just thought I'd toss it out there.

In my suspicious mind, sounds like something that could be used against a person.

Ok my wife teaches 5th grade.......when she is taking up notes from kids talking about the sexual orgy one of the students mom had with another students father...and others something is broken.  They had a pregnant 5th grader a few years back, and you wouldnt believe what the parents say about kids....

the most common

"My kid would not have done that..".

My mothers and fathers most common response when i was in school

"What did he do this time......."

There is no respect for authority in public schools, and my wife had a student tell her.....in front of the class to "go f)))) herself".  You know what happened to that kid??? nothing

Kids are now talking abour sex and doing drugs in the 4th grade when i was still playing with my black bb gun at school i might add.....

If you are not an educator or do not know one you wouldnt believe how their hands are tied these days........

So, I take it you don't adhere with Queen Hillary, "It takes a village"?

If someone would have told America just one generation ago how it is today with federal government intrusion and people control, you'd be labeled a radical and isolated to the funny farm. What's happening hipower!

I'm letting our children finish out 3rd grade in their current school. It's PreK through 5th. After that we are homeschooling. It may be sooner if I decide. At the rate of the decline of the education system they'll be lucky to get to 3rd grade before I pull them out and teach them at home.

The entire educational system has failed.

Our country has failed. From top to bottom. Parents don't parent and teachers don't teach anymore. And that's not even touching on the political BS they are teaching our kids at school.

When you have grown ass adults (I'm referring to teachers in this area that I know first hand) who don't know simple grammar and puncuation, you've failed.

When I hear teachers at our kids school saying, "I saw this really nice (whatever item) for sell." It makes me cringe to think of them having any say in our children's education.

Somehwere along the line society in general has become more and more retarded. I'll let my kids "play nice" with the other kiddies for another year or so. Then enough is enough and they will be given a proper education. It's not like we haven't been homeschooling them all along anyway. I just didn't want to hurt them socially at a young age, so we let them go to prek & 1st and will aloow them to go to 2nd and 3rd.

You only touched the tip of the iceberg. If anyone really knew the influence and authority the federal / state government has on the liberal education of your public educated children, you would cringe. Like, to meet federal government standards, they must use teaching books approved by the government and the national liberal teachers union. The teachers union is NOT interested in teaching, they're there for the socialistic pay and benefits for themselves, period!

My have times changed... Teaching at public schools the proper illustrated use of condoms, alternative life styles and the gay lifestyle is to be accepted, ZERO tolerance for a kid to be a kid, everyone is equal and there should be no recognition for special scholastic or physical achievement, not to offend the under achievers and dummies.

Go figure...

I would agree that this is pretty skewed. However, they are not wrong when they claim liberalism is about personal freedom. In a classical definition, that would be a correct statement. The problem is that many people who claim to be liberal are not. Most are very authoritarian, which can also be said of many who claim to be conservative. They would be more appropriately labeled as socialists or statists.
