I was thinking I may have posted this a while ago, couldnt find it if I did. Adam Ant is a spokesman for Mental Health issues, He suffers from Bi-Polar disorder and severe depression. While going through a divorce and a downward career spiral, his manager told him to find a nice quiet place to relax for a while. He did, Dayton, TN. In 96 he bought an old house up on Dayton, Mountain. Lived here for two years and lived between here and London for the 6 years after that. He remarried in Dayton and his daughter Caitlyn was born in Dayton. In his book he says he really liked it here, loved the people and wrote one of his hit songs about Dayton. This is the song. Cool Zombie.

I was in The Monkey Bar at the Best Western years ago and every Friday and Saturday night was Karoake night. The usual Karaoke singers were singing and one guy gets up there and starts singing. This place was pretty tightly packed, not very big. Everyone in the bar was going ballistic and my wife was saying how good he could sing. I looked at her and said they were treating this Karaoke Star like a celebrity, he can sing because he's a Karaoke Star, he sings the same fricken song every week and probably practices the same friken song every day at home. Probably the only song he can sing. When he finished, everyone was screaming for more and I was like "Blah...Karaoke King" He sang and left.

It was Adam Ant.

When I hear the name Adam Ant, the only thing that pops in my mind is the song "Strip". It's kind of weird to think this video is 30 years old now.

Yea, it happened. Have to ask my wife when exactly it was. I was in there a lot too. Probably ran into you. Place was so small, dont know about you, but people were always sharing the few tables.

Did you live in Dayton? Reason I ask is I can see no reason anyone would want to drive to Dayton to drink 3.2 (Or whatever that low alcohol content was)beer in a tiny hole in the wall. Really didnt like that place. People were nice though, some of them

BTW, I didnt know who he was. Even when he left. There were some women with boyfriends or husbands jammed around one of the tables, got all giddy when he started singing. I didnt have any idea who he was until a while after he left and the women at the table next to our started talking about it. I never liked AA music in the 80's, or Duran Duran or INXS or any of the rest of the cookie cutter makeup wearing bands.

What were you doing in a bar three nights a week, every week? lol
