New AR trigger

Recommended Posts

Honestly, I suspect that once the ATF realizes that firm, constant finger pressure is applied the gun will continue to fire they will change their ruling. It isn't the first time they have changed a ruling after hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of product have been sold. The Atkins Accelerator was approved by the ATF and the manufacturer sold thousands, at a lot more than this trigger, then the ATF changed its ruling saying it was a machine gun as long as the spring was installed. So all those who bought the stock had to remove the spring from their stock and turn it into a regular stock that they paid hundreds of dollar for.

The BATF tested this trigger in all 3 positions.

They also understand the function of it as it was explained in their ruling. http://tacfirecon.com/wp-content/uploads/TAC-CON-TM-ATF-Approval-Letter.pdf

Obviously, they had to of pressed the trigger and held it themselves and fired it in this mode. It would be the easiest test they could do is press and hold the trigger to see how it fires.

They still ruled it is functioning as a semi automatic trigger because the trigger is still performing semi-auto functionally, with the added bonus it forces your finger forward to reset it faster. Once the trigger moves forward and resets, if you don't pull the trigger rearward again, it isn't going to fire again. You still have to pull the trigger for every round, hence, why they ruled it legal.

Besides, the minit mart agency has probably boxed itself in from people challenging their
pea sized brain with all the gadgets that are showing up. Just more evidence that innovation
can stump even the most ridiculous set of rules.

just something to rest on their knuckles.

Emailed Taccon inquiring about the "End of 2013" ship date. I gave my order number and asked when my order would ship. I ordered Dec 1 I think. I got the below general response. I assume this means they will ship sometime 2014. "Tac-Conâ„¢ 3MR Trigger shipments to begin at the end of December 2013. We will be sending out a large number of orders in the beginning of 2014. I am going to wait a couple of years before picking one up. The wait is for the company to work out any problems from use, like durability or possible damage to the lower. In that time the ATF will have had their chance to change their mind on the "legal" ruling by then. And, most importantly, the cost will come down or the copies will be out.

Murphy's Law at that point I'd say. Not so much the trigger as much as the what's sitting on top of it if I had to guess such as the hammer, disconnector, etc. I once had a trigger pack lock up on me(Model 1 sales, don't EVER deal with their garbage) and the hammer was set just so, that you couldn't rack the charging handle, you couldn't turn the safety, I mean it was locked up. I think it may have been a popped primer but I wasn't going to chance it and stripped that garbage out of my lower and replaced it with a Spikes kit.

Now see? You folks wishing to wait will miss on the entire gimmickery. Step right up! You should rush out and buy this thing before

the minit mart agency takes it down in a body slam. Else, you'd never know the joys of innovation. :D

At the very least, it's tacticool. At it's best, it's awesome. As for practicality? Well, that is too subjective, isn't it?

I don't remember the cost of that Atkin's Accelerator, probably 70-100 bucks. With the current value of the dollar, it may be priced right.

Gordon, what I really want to know is why they would change their mind with this, rather than the slide fire? Both use the same physics to

achieve the same thing. They(minit mart agency) have probably so strictly defined the action of a machine gun that they can't, wouldn't

you think? Unintended consequences go both ways with poorly written legislation, and regulations written ignorant of the law. It could

just be an unintended consequence.

That garbage was probably made in the same factory as the Spike's kit. Neither company makes their own parts. A popped primer can lock up any AR

I can't tell you where they get their LPK's from BUT it's not just me that's reported issues with them my friend.

https://www.google.com/#q=model+1+sales+quality+review

I've never used one of their LPK's. I also know they're fairly low end. I'm just saying that they don't make the parts. They're a reseller, just like most of the AR houses. I have some of "their" barrels, and one of their uppers. I wouldn't call it junk, and I can get pretty snooty about AR parts :)

I shot this with a Model 1 varmint upper. It ain't all junk...

I also had a carbine upper, 1/7 twist chrome lined barrel. I didn't notice this until after a YEAR of having the upper(mind you it was my first and I didn't know what to look for) but the barrel protruded out from the M4 feed ramps on the reciever by probably .5-1mm, it was just enough to create a lip. Also had the nipple on the buffer detent snap right off after about 500 rounds. It was after all this that I condemned my buddy from ever turning me on to them. From interweb conjecture, they're like Taurus. Some people have really good luck out of them and some people have REALLY ****ty luck with them such as myself. I became SO disgusted with them that I swore that I'd never buy low end AR stuff again. Didn't mean to rant but it's just one of those things where if you continually have bad luck with a product you don't want to use them ever again.

We are discussing a trigger, not  your feelings towards the ATF or government. I would appreciate if you would leave it out of this thread.

The bolt coming back forces the trigger forward through the use of a lever. The fulcrum of the trigger being forced forward is the trigger pin. I can see the trigger pin hole in the lower become egg shaped over time with use. Maybe not immediate but eventually.

Considering the nature of the product and the past history of this agency, the capricious nature of the ATF and the possibility of a reversal and them rescinding their approval is a valid concern.

Intresting. For that kind on money Ill stick with the Gessiele Super Dynamic 3 gun thats going in mine soon. I just don't see the appeal of something that mimics full auto myself, but I do understand that people love toys. Now if we could get the NFA repealed and I could buy a pig (m60) that would be sweet

Tapatalk ate my spelling.

I could dig something that would fire a three round burst for $200 tops. But even then, I'd still have to think twice.

I absolutely agree but what we don't need is a running anti ATF commentary. We all know where he stands and saying over and over again brings nothing to the discussion.

They have reversed their decisions in the past so we know it can happen and it is a valid concern.
