AK's Made in Clinton?

Oh Shoot

...That would be DDI or Destructive Devices Industries. Chapman Highway. By all accounts we have something pretty darn good going on in our own backyard.

It seems they purchased the assets of Waffen Werks and are moving to make a quality AK.

Cool.  The map shows them just off Chapman Hwy in South Knoxville.  Looks like they're a manufacturer only and sell through distributors.  Look to be fairly high quality with the associated price tag.   Factory direct pricing sure would be nice.

They seem to be pretty well made. I'm guessing this is the outfit your bud was referring to OS. Not a lot of places building AK's around town.

Here's a link to those crazy suckers at the AK Operators Union...NSFW Language...as usual...But they are rough on the guns they review...and entertaining...to me anyway.

Holy Cow OS! What else am I missing? Good on Knoxville and TN! and Thanks for the info.

I second the thought that factory direct purchasing would be great...if only...

Well, you can buy directly from Czech Point, though nothing seems to be in stock right now cept some of the revolvers.

LOL. I saw that. All over 1K as well as out of stock...

I'm personally interested in one of the DDI AK's.

Rumor has it they are coming out with an AK pistol designed to be more easily converted to a legal SBR. (not having to drill for a trunnion as I understand)...but I don't know the particulars. A bud of mine spoke with a rep at the NRA convention about it.

We'll see what happens.

It's not that big of a deal in reality.  Just allows any terminated employees to spend money to gamble on getting a settlement.

Since we are an At Will Employment state, a boss would have to be a real idiot to show evidence that he fired someone for having a heater in his car, and of course the ex-employee has to prove that was the reason. Somehow.

Much bigger deal, and without getting into the minutiae, bill just sent to gov that removes any local option to prohibit handgun carry in city/county parks and rec areas.

Wrong thread?

Didn't I read somewhere that waffen werks had a lot of quality issues?

I think that had a lot to do with their price point.  People willing to pay double the market value for a high end AK have a tendency to be picky, and not unrightfully so.
