I need some quick schooling on gun coating options

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking about getting my girlfriend a 9mm Shield for Christmas, and being the girly-girl she is, I think she'd prefer something in pink. Since I'm not aware of any readily available pink 9mm Shields (if there are, please let me know), I'm probably going to have something done that's similar to what's pictured below.

Which coating is the most durable?
What kind of abuse can I realistically expect the coating to take before needing to have it done again?
Anyone around Nashville doing QUALITY coating work?

I think Cerakote gets the nod her as it is a lot more durable when done right versus Gunkote or Duracoat - but I think they are all the same chit different name

However...especially for the frame, I just usually Krylon my weapons - to include my stuff at work. Itll chip but it will get the job done. Just my $.02

I dont know anyone in Nashville but DONT come to Clarksville because those bums at Double Tap Tactical and TN Gun Country WILL jack your stuff up
