  1. Think we could make him wet his pants if we had an oc demonstration in your front yard?
  2. Congratulations to your son I wish someone had given me a rifle when I earned my Eagle.
  3. Metro uses much more common sense in their laws than the City of Mt. Juliet does.
  4.   If I were in a situation in which gun politics had zero to do with my business I would keep my personal beliefs out of it.  I've been there in the past and was more than happy to take the money of people who no doubt had different views than I.  I like money so I had no inclination to alienate them.  Of course if I was some big time movie star with plenty of money I'd probably promote my agenda without caring what anyone thought.
  5. I've got time on my hands and now that deer season is over I have time to get involved.  Where can I find info on the Wednesday night matches?
  6. I never understood why these idiots think that because they have found success in the acting world anyone would care what their political opinions are.  It simply makes me treat them like supposed good chicken restaurants, give me a free side of your political views with your otherwise wonderful product and I'm not buying either.  Just sell me your great product and we'll both be happy.
  7.   Yeah this was a cool place to live growing up, our population has tripled in the past 15 years or so, evidently that extra 20,000 we got were a bunch of liberal bed wetters.
  8. City ordinance prohibits bow hunting as well, plus I really don't care to take up any other hobbies right now.
  9. The local PD has been very clear that they don't care what we have to say.  Local game warden has told us that we are good to go because the land is zoned agricultural.  I plan to keep on hunting there and I am prepared to take it to court if need be, I figure the cost of an attorney to protect my honey hole is a lot less than the cost of a lease.  I just want to have my ducks in a row if we get there.  For whatever reason I cannot find the AGs opinion that I posted above on the TNAGs website, any help on that would be appreciated as well, I searched every opinion from 2001 and couldn't find anything.
  10. I did find this attorney generals opinion on the subject from 2001.  I think this is good enough, if anyone has anything else to add I'm all ears.
  11. Yeah I figured as soon as OhShoot saw this we would have an answer, I've been scouring since I got up this morning.  I've heard too many dependable people tell me this, yet no one can seem to back it up.
  12. I did, I went back and read the section in it's entirety and it looks as if that applies specifically to established shooting ranges.  I'm thinking that doesn't apply to an area primarily used for agricultural that is hunted on.
  13. He is saying what I believe true I'm just looking to find the written word.
  14. Well at least that's what I think I need.  I'm looking at T.C.A. 70-4-301-303 I could possibly not be looking in the right place.  Here's a quick synopsis of the situation...   I've heard this but would like to be able to back it up with written law.  It is my understanding that the hunter protection act supersedes local ordinance pertaining to not firing a gun within city limits.  (i.e. hunting in a safe area in city limits is okay, target practice is not.)  Can anyone point me in the right direction here or did I dream this up and I'm completely out of line?
  15. Just who in the heck is paying for these studies?
  16. Really looks like a slide lock from a Glock.
  17. One of the things that bothers me about this is the lack of effort/oversight concerning the precautions that Nrange didn't take to prevent this from happening.  I know most of you have not seen the store but most of the front of the shop is large plate glass windows.  The windows don't have any bars on them or anything else to prevent entry in the event that the window is broken.  There are also not any pylons of anything else to prevent a vehicle from being rammed into the window.  I'm not sure what protocol is when it comes it gun shops securing weapons during non business hours but the ones at Nrange obviously were not secure enough.  I do know of some shops that put everything in a safe at night.  I know that could be a lot of work but if I were in their shoes I think that I would just consider that a part of the price of doing business.
  18. Sorry Greg I just saw this.  I wrapped the first batch in wax paper.  I didn't like doing that, I'm about to make another batch and will use casings.  I don't think I'll need to cook it longer but I'll probably just stick my meat thermometer in the middle of one and take it out when it hits 160.
  19. Some are loosing them but plenty of antlered bucks have been shot in the past week.  I've found them in really thick areas.  Along fence rows as well.  You want to look in places where there was something to pull them off.  If I really wanted some sheds I'd look into antler traps.
  20. If I cared about the opinions of zoo animals I'd just tune in to MSNBC.
  21. G27 and G23 here.  If I had it to do over I would go with 9mm.  Plenty of stopping power with today's technologically advanced ammo, less recoil, and more capacity.
  22. I'm another Summit Viper owner.  Haven't put it in a tree in 10 years.  In that time I've hunted exclusively from the ground in a camp chair.  It's so much easier.  Easier to carry in, I don't have too mess with a harness, I don't have to find a suitable tree, and I don't have to worry about falling.  I do hunt out of ground blinds done but prefer just a camp chair. And I kill plenty of deer by the way.
  23. Personally I have no desire to port a carry gun.  I just wouldn't want it to be any louder than it has to be.
  24. I think dog tag as well.  It couldn't be company script could it?  I'm not familiar enough with Bedford County to know if there were any large companies there back then and I wouldn't peg it for a mining location.
