  1. I'd be more in favor of a public stoning.
  2. I'm all kinds of messed up.  I'm right handed and left eye dominant.  A rifle instructor noticed this when I was a young boy scout earning my riflery merit badge and encouraged me to try shooting left handed.  I had my own .22 at that point that I shot a lot.  I continued to shoot left and right handed using both my left and right eyes depending on which shoulder I was shooting from.  I will say that I can acquire the target better when I'm shooting right handed with a scope as opposed to iron sights.  I can't tell you how many times I've switched shoulders and been able to bag a deer.  I never remember letting one walk because it was on the wrong side.
  3. Are we shooting from cover?  How many rounds should I bring?
  4. As much as I love TGO I have no interest in telling the world that there may be a gun in my vehicle for the taking.  However if they ever get anymore of those free Bernie Sanders stickers I would like to get one of those for my truck because it's a well known fact that people that have Bernie stickers on their car have never worked hard enough to have anything nice.
  5. Growing up in Mt. Juliet and moving back here this past year has been odd.  The town has tripled in size since I left.  So basically 2/3 of the population is a bunch of pricks that are not from here but want to change the way things have been done here forever, not to mention that they can't drive.  If I could take a cane to these people for what I experience on a daily basis in stores and in traffic my arm would be worn out.
  6. If you browse the pets section on golsn.com, which mostly serves your area, it is very common to see ads offering grown dogs for trade for random things.  My pets are not currency, they are family.
  7. When I lived in East Tennessee it was common when bear season came to an end for "hunters" to leave their dogs in the woods.  Specifically dogs that were old or didn't hunt well.  Multiple times I had hounds show up at my place skinny and scared.  I'd feed them for as long as they would stay but they always disappeared within a few days.  I'm not sure what is worse, shooting a dog that won't hunt or leaving it in the woods.  Probably best to just put a bullet in the piece of trash that thinks that either is acceptable but evidently there are laws against that   I've had working (hunting) dogs and they were still family, I just don't get that disconnect.
  8. I wonder if people would drive like such idiots if the consequences were getting hit with one of these tanks instead of a Prius?
  9. I see what you are saying.  I would prefer cash on everything.  Only reason I list trade price is to discourage trading.
  10. The trade value thing gets me.  Here's how I look at it.  If I offer to trade my $500 gun for your gun, then an even trade would be you giving me a $500 gun and that is fair.  If I offer my $500 gun for sale and you want to trade me an Xbox, three tires and a jet ski with a bad motor then those things should add up in value to say $700.  I have a boat listed on CL now for $2000, I say in the ad that I don't want to do trades but I put a trade value of $3000 on it.  Reason being is I don't want what they have to trade, I don't need anything, anything that they are offering to trade I will just sell.  Therefore I'm going to have to make a post, get the item ready to sell, then deal with more idiots like them that will likely want to trade me for more crap that I don't want or need.
  11. I used to give the name, number, and address of anyone that I had a beef with to a recruiter from every branch of the military via the military websites.  I probably broke some laws.  But I'm sure that kept them annoyed for a while.

  13. That rope is going to taste awful!

    ....

I think you all are wrong!
  15. I've only used Facebook to buy a gun once and it was this week.  I was looking for something in particular that isn't exactly common.  I placed a wanted add and had a response from a local guy in about 5 minutes that offered to sell me the gun for $50 less than I had offered.  He even offered to meet me half way.  After I browsed his profile, saw pictures of him with his kids and no sign of being a wanna be gangsta thug, I met him with confidence.  I still prefer TGO but I'd do a Facebook transaction again, it was a good experience.
  16. This is something that I'm going to look into.  This is the way that I felt after purchased a gun safe, I'm sure that an alarm system provides for great piece of mind.
  17. Nope, its stewed for a while, it still stinks.
  18. Another reason that I wish  that I could opt out of SS.  We are already crazy in their eyes simply because we have a desire to own guns.  The antis are going to use any and all underhanded tactics necessary to keep them from us.  There is no way that admitting firearm ownership to these idiots can have a positive outcome.  Furthermore, someone correct me if I'm wrong, a patient has no obligation to answer the question.
  19. I go where I want and haven't had any trouble, just got to take it easy and assess each part of the road.  Years of dirtbiking and rear wheel drive sports car shenanigans help too.  Those things have gotten me used to a rear end breaking loose.  Tires do play a big part.  I got new Michelin M/S 2s last year and they have been great!
  20. I'd take 1 Subaru to two Fords.  A friend of mine has a WRX STI that is an absolute blast to drive.  And, it will carry the groceries and kids home in the snow!  If I ever find myself in a situation where I'm car shopping a Subaru will be the first thing that I look at.  Until then I'll be practical and continue to drive my truck.
  21. I used to live about 2 miles from Chillhowie Park.  Not an area I would venture into unarmed.  That said the gun show over there has about as much to do with the local violent crime as I have to do with the space program.

    Cz and sig?

I'm in this boat right now as well.  The only place that I've gotten to get my hands on a CZ was Academy and they won't take the trigger locks off so I have no idea what the trigger is like.  The price point on the CZ is attractive but after shopping Gander Mountain for the Sig, Academy's price on the Sig seems too attractive to pass up.  Which brings me to another question, I don't know a lot about Sigs but I've done a lot of research in the past few days.  The tag on the Sig that I looked at at Academy read "226B" anyone have any idea what that "B" means?  I've looked on Sig's website and Wikipedia and couldn't find anything.  I just don't want to buy a gun and find out a week later that I didn't get what I thought that I got or should have gotten something else.
  23. I've rebuilt motorcycle engines on the kitchen table before but I did it and had it cleaned up before the wife got home!
  24. Fine for deer under 100 yrds.
