  1. I mainly stay with "proven" handguns from the professionals that rely on them. Early in my gun fascination years, I use to buy the cheap ones, or mid price ones, the ones that were never carried by the professionals (mainly due to price). After careful consideration and maturity in my hobby, I concluded stay with what is actually proven by thousands of professionals out there. With that said, its Glock and Sig Sauer as far I am concerned, and I will throw in the Beretta as well. My two all time favorites to carry: Glock 30S, its small, and throws bowling balls! Sig P6, its small, and fits my hand extremely well. Honorable to mention: Sig P220 Carry, its my most accurate handgun; Glock 23, 19 or 32, just like the size; and finally my Sig P228, its just a great handgun. My daily problem is usually the decision itself (which one!)
  2. Once I made the switch to bigger trucks 3/4 and ton trucks, I could never go back to the No one really wins the Ford vs. Chevy vs Dodge debate, except the truck dealers. But if one really wants to know, a good litmus test is trade in value and re-sale value. I believe if I am not mistaken Ford has dominated this segment for many decades, followed by GM and finally Dodge (they are not close).
  3. 2-4 should be the hottest part of the day. Weatherman says it will be 95 in the shade. Drink plenty of liquids!
  4. Had a great uncle who landed on the beach today 72 years ago, he was a preacher, and would only let his experience come out in the sermons. Wow, how scared he was, and what he described about others who were killed on the beach. He talked a lot about hearing young guys call for their momas when they were hit. What a great group of men! THANK YOU.
  5. Still no letter here, I only purchased a gun from them, no ammo, no DL number.
  6. I wonder if I have a letter forth coming?  Is it email or an actual old fashioned mail?
  7. My mother grew up living next to a mountain stream that flowed out of Greenbrier section of the Smoky Mountains (10 miles east of Gatlinburg).  She said she and her brothers would catch many red eye, but only after dark and with a fire burning next the river bank.  When I was old enough to camp on my own, me and my little brother tested her story.  100% true, we caught maybe ~8 that.  Similar size to what is in the OP picture.  Great fighters.  That's been 30+ years ago, now I would like to do it again.
  8. Even $200 would be a bummer if constitutional carry is around the corner.  Probably a good deal, probably will do, but I am always weary when lifetime fees change on anything.

    Wife

    Prayers sent.
  10. For what its worth, 2-3 months ago my Norton software alerted me to problems at TGO.  After umpteen times of alerts and my ignoring, I have not got another detection alert.  Not sure if its of any value or not.
  11. I meant to comment about the great experience we had.  First, a big kudo's to my mother-in-law.  She keeps her military ID up to date which allowed us onto the base Saturday morning.  Then they guided us to park in a designated area, and had a/c buses waiting on us to take us to the gate.  No fees, no waiting, and 1st class all around.  We arrived around 8:30am Saturday, and got to see many of the planes on the ground before they let in the general public.  We got front row seating against the plastic fence.  My only complaint the PA system was way too loud, but we were prepared.  I brought my electronic ears that I use when shooting.  The kids and wife had the sponge thingys which by the way were free on the bus.  Just a great time.  Glad I didn't take my water pill.  Those lines were horrible to the porta potties.  I felt for the beer drinkers, I guess you stood in line, did your biz, and got back in line to repeat, which I heard was about a 1 hour wait.   When we left which was about 4:30pm, we encountered little traffic by going the back roads behind the base.  Will I do it again, yea maybe if comes around again in 16 years.
  12. I miss tent camping (not).  I had all I could stand when I was teen, but inviting others of the opposite sex to camp was pretty cool and was always a antidote murphys law when camping.  :dirty:
  13. There is the Dan Wesson that makes a 10mm, and there is a Colt Delta Elite 1911 in 10mm.    Why not carry a Glock 29, small and you don't always have to load the mag to the max if its too heavy ;)
  14. Very good!  Loved the Blue Angels!    https://smokymountainairshow.com/
  15. I pray that God's will be done, and we all selfishly pray for the outcome that you seek, and may blessings come of this situation regardless of the outcome.
  16. I have drank a many of drinks listening to his music. RIP Merle.
  17. APRILS FOOL! :biglol: :biglol: :biglol: :biglol: :biglol:
  18. I like crossbreed.  Mine is about 3 years old, and is worn daily.  Still stiff and great!
  19. I truly hope you and yours have a very happy Easter.  Just remember without Him, what would the world look like today.  Remember and believe.    For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.  (John3:16-17)
  20. Couldn't the same argument be made for using defensive ammo?

    Bayonet Lug ?

Maybe I am in the minority, but I purchased a Phrobis M9 bayonet for my ARs a few years ago.............................just for the heck of it.  Did you know the M9 are very collectible, and several different versions.    http://www.old-smithy.info/bayonets/HTNL%20DOCUMNETS/m9_bayonet_and_variations.htm
  22. I struggled with the cost narrative for 20+ years.  Then Sandy Hook happened, and the ammo all dried up.  I threw out the ROI, and changed the prism I looked through from a cost model to a necessity model.  I basically went from zero of having nothing to having everything I would ever need to reload every caliber I had, and I purchased probably a lifetime supply of primers, bullets, brass, all within a month along with the capital to reload.  I have never regretted, and I learned so much after reloading about 10+ different calibers.  Now fast forward to now.  Its great that I have all those supplies, plus I have a choice to buy factory or reload, and I have the experience and knowledge to reload.  Never again will be caught with my pants down!
  23. That deal at Midway is back for 3 days, $149   http://www.midwayusa.com/product/149023/caldwell-lead-sled-dft-rifle-shooting-rest?cm_mmc=pe_weekly-_-hotbuy-_-caldwell_leadsled-_-20160316
  24. Don't worry about the drapes, just choot em, and then choot em some more.   I remember I had just one AR, then 2, and just be careful some are like junk yard rabbits.
  25. Sometimes you have to look past the P.T. Barnum tactics to see the truth.  It really is a simple matter, support or not support, the rest is gimmicky, but I am sure the NRA has learned through time, the silly tactics are needed to move the wallet needle on a few people. I say some of the NRA targeted audience are not the sharpest tool in the shed, but their green still spends.
