I started using imgur the last time PhotoPhuckit jacked people a few years ago. Tried to login one day, they demanded a ransom, I refused to pay. Lost all my hosted pics..forever, but there weren't a whole lot and I still have them. Why anyone used them I'll never understand. If you dare to click on a pic and actually go their site the ads will blow your computer up.

Get your own, I'm keeping mine. -
The details of my life are quite inconsequential...born and raised in Memphis, a place I still have deep fondness for so back off haters, lol. Went to UT Knoxville, fell in love with the mountains and pretty girls, graduated and stayed. Been a System Admistrator ever since. Garufa was the name of a 45' sailboat I had the pleasure of living on for two weeks in the Bahamas and sailing back to the mainland a long time ago. It was a true adventure and great fun.

Paul Ryan Lets National Reciprocity Stall
Garufa replied to xsubsailor's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Rights are going to be taken away at some level, of that you can be assured. It's best they start locally as the Constitution intended so at least there are several layers of redress available via state and federal court systems. Once it's a federal issue then there is less chance of success, IHMO. Philosophy aside, I truly believe the feds getting involved with handgun carry permitting will not end well. Now I have no idea what the details of the proposed law are but I could easily see it eventually leading to national standards for permits. Once they get done haggling over the details of that, I have a feeling there will be some pretty strict standards to meet to apply and keep a permit, standards that will change constantly as no-gun states get a bigger say in how free states see fit to exercise their rights. -

Not surprised and am actually kind of happy about it. National Reciprocity sounds good in theory but in fact 1) takes away the right of States, and 2) would lead to federal control of licensing and permitting. Does anyone seriously want that? -
If people weren't so willing to give up that SSN to any private business that asks for it The Man might have a harder time keeping tabs.

I find it astounding you've never had a .22 handgun.

It would be a good idea not to pull out or even touch your heater when asserting or simply "adjusting" yourself. -
Best zombie movie ever made is "The Return of the Living Dead" and the only gun in it is a P-38.

I don't know what all you old coots are talking about but I guess this October I might be eligible to join the AARP. What does that get me?

Here's a novel idea: read a book. A proper book, not something on an electronic device or listen to a recording.

I scored a couple of those two, maybe three years ago at WM.

Picked up a couple of Federal 550 bulk packs of .22 from Walmart last week. Anybody remember those? I have not seen them on shelves in literally 5 years, even before The Great Famine.

Topstraps Rimfire Match Won with a 2x4

A fine example of having skills beats throwing money at a solution more often than not. Not that I have some magical skills, but I am cheap as hell. -
I have no advice to offer as I've never left the conterminous US other than to visit Hawaii and the Bahamas but it sounds like a great opportunity and am a bit envious. Sounds like you're going to be among some everyday people and not just touristing as you go. That's very cool.

Taxation without representation. I'll not sully the day with any further discussion of all that.

Most likely it is a single-shot .22 rifle. There were a zillion of them made back then by several manufacturers with round cocking pieces like that.

Hope you enjoy you visit down South. Here it is 10:19 pm in Memphis on July 2nd. The temperature is 81 and humidity 82. Just stepped outside for 5 minutes and am now a sweaty mess. It's worse in September...bring plenty of extra t-shirts. Do you mean Gus's fried chicken? Well worth the visit if so.

It happens. Had something similar happen with my Mark II a few years ago with Federal bulk. It's why one wears glasses of some kind while shooting...anything.
