  1. When I go to the polls all I see are R's and D's next to the names.    Where are these other parties you speak of?
  2.   Republicans, if you believe they are they only hope, will never win the White House or a majority of the Legislative branch if they continue with the heavy hand on abortions and homos.  Ever again.  The country has shifted rapidly, probably more so in the past few years than at any other time in history.  Conservatives need to change their tune if they wish to conquer.  Drop those two platforms I'd say you will see a massive swing back.
  3.   Magpul has not yet moved.  Mags are supposedly now made in another state, where I don't know.  HiViz moved to Wyoming.   http://dailycaller.com/2013/10/18/magpul-still-in-colorado-customers-starting-to-get-irked/
  4. :D   Looks good.  It should work well for many years to come.
  5. It is a froe for riving shakes.
  6. As far as US Military surplus weapons go there simply are no more stockpiles of them.  They where exhausted years ago.  The exception to that general rule is the CMP which only sells what it returned to the Army by other countries and VFW groups.   Once our military adopted a new rifle they often just sold off the obsolete ones to the open market and did not generally stockpile mass quantities of them like the commies did.  Now the former communist countries are clearing out their arsenals of the old stuck and we get to buy it all   Another is the general American philisophy on acquiring weapons.  Contracts where extended when rifles needs and contracts terminated when no longer needed.  A fine example is the M1 Carbine.  Over 6 million where produced in a short 3 year period.  At the end of WWII all contracts where cancelled and not another one was built.  Communist countries but millions upon millions of weapons when they where not even needed, partly due to military doctrine, party due to socialistic work programs.    Also, in the grand scheme of things, we Americans just did not produce weapons on the scale of other countries.  It is estimated that over 36 MILLION Mosins produced of all varieties.  Germany alone produced close to 16 MILLION Mauser 98K's just during WWII, that doesn't even include the previous 40 years.  Yugoslavia made millions of Mauser pattern rifles for years after WWII that were already obsolete and never even used, just stored for a NATO invasion. That's just three examples.   Off the top of my head America produced:   A little over 6 million M1 Garands A little over 6 millions M1 Carbines Around 1.5 million M1903 rifles Just over 2 million M1917 rifles etc.   There are plenty out there and they are all C&R, you just have to keep an eye out for a price you can live with.  They are just no massive stockpiles left here or overseas to be imported.
  7.   Found this the other day related to IP.Board.  Assume it is the problem I and other IE 11 users will run into.   http://community.invisionpower.com/resources/bugs.html/_/ip-board/internet-explorer-11-copy-paste-issue-r42941
  8.   Same problem here.  Upgraded the other day.  I believe there is an incompatibility with the current version of IP.Board and Internet Explorer 11 (that 8.1 installs)   Cannot quote posts or paste inside the editor.
  9. Sometimes Goose Mountain will have a sale price that cannot be beat.  It's rare but it does happen.
  10.   Can't miss reveille Private, there'll be hell to pay.  What time is lights out?
  11.   No, it's not, unless your are totally careless.  Anyone ignorant enough to walk into an airport with one in the chamber really needs to stay away from guns.  I would prefer he never had possession of another gun again.   Dude should at least be fined for that purple thing
  12. That's what I'm leaning towards.
  13.   I, too, am conflicted.  Maybe I'll get a plan figured out once in front of the TV.  Being the Nat Geo channel it probably will be replayed throughout the week or sometime soon.
  14. I'm putting mine together right now.
  15. A man's gotta have priorities.
  16. November starts that day.
  17. So are you choosing between a revolver and a semi-auto or are you looking at a 9mm revolver?   The 9mm replaced the .38 Special after at least 80 years of service in this country between the military, law enforcement and everyone's dad or grandpa.  It's still one of the most versatile calibers around.   9mm does have and edge in power but you can always go for 38+p or .357 Magnum which really ups the ante.   Really depends on what you want.  Revolvers are far more reliable (assuming you're talking S&W or Ruger) but semi's are a bit more convenient and hold a whole lot more bullets.
  18. IMHO, save your money and just build an AR yourself.  Those kinds of classes are geared towards those who feel the need and require the justification to pay for it (government agencies).   You can learn everything you need to know online.
  19.   I've always thought a Mercedes hood ornament would be perfect at the end of a long rail.  It would make a great front sight...blacked out of course.
  20. Shields are excellent pistols.  The triggers have been very nice since they first came out.
  21. FAT is Fabbrica Armi Terni.  The Italian Terni arsenal.   The Carcano was made in 1919 at the Brescia aresenal and rearsenaled at FAT in 1950.  It looks like an M1891 TS carbine.  The upper handguard is missing.   Ammo....http://www.sgammo.com/product/prvi-partizan/20-round-box-65x52-carcano-139-grain-fmj-ammo-prvi-partizan-pp601
  22. It's all good Mike.  I just dug up my block and it doesn't even cover the forward assist/deflector protrustions.    It's been a while since I used it, kinda forgot what it looked like.
  23. Do y'all reckon the CMT upper will fit in a standard action block?  It looks kinda angular.
  24. Those hats look vaguely similar to those worn by US Army and Navy officers in the late 1800's/early 1900's....only way gayer.
