  1. Unfluted cylinders are badass but not the norm and finding someone who would actually want to do that is for sure a long shot.
  2. I bought this for that back in the day and my daddy got those sweet mil-surps he left me way cheaper in his time. What was then really is irrelevant now.
  3. They are actually pretty common in east TN as there is a fault zone here but most are not felt and are fairly localized. Today was very noticeable across the whole region.
  4. Thought the house was coming down in Knoxville.
  5. Congrats!
  6. Why Part 2? What happened to the other thread? Didn’t Browning have a stainless Hi Power back in the day? Seems like they did but maybe I’m disremembering.
  7. I’ve seen some noise on the internets (r/revolvers actually) that there are some duds in that batch PSA is selling and they are also not allowing any bad reviews on their site. Take that as you will, especially in light of current S&W quality control, of which there is none so it seems.
  8. I did not need to know about this. What do they want for one at Walmart?
  9. Racquetball racquet case but if you don’t look like the type to play racquetball it might be hard to pull off the charade.
  10. Fantastic shotgun. You don’t see these classics in basically brand new condition much. GLWS!
  11. Haven’t reloaded .30 carbine since I was about 14 (seriously) so take this as you will. I do know that .30 carb is known for stretching brass and it does need to be trimmed…from time to time. I never did that when I was an ignorant kid and there was no internet to say otherwise and didn’t have any problems. Maybe you’re trimming too much? Have you compared your reloads to factory loads that don’t have light primer strikes, especially the case length? Since it spaces on the case mouth maybe you went a tad bit short?
  12. So nothing has changed since before covid which was the last time I went.

It does look nasty but being kept in a foam lined case for who knows how long will do that as it appears here. I still think it’s already been refinished as the blued trigger and hammer are dead giveaways. I bet it cleans up fairly well with judicious use of oil, 0000 wool, and a light touch for rust spots. Smiths of that age have a butter smooth action, I assume that is the case here?

The blue is definitely a pre-model 28 Highway Patrolman with replacement grips and quite possibly refinished.. If my name was @Defender I’d have my eyes on it. Even if you’re not a revolver guy, that model is one of the best to own.
