  1. Well, this is taking a turn... Wonder if this is an act of terrorism, like down in Chattanooga several years ago... The FBI was in the shooter's home talking to the parents and requested a translator. Who was the Allen outlet mall shooter? | wfaa.com
  2. I think it’s broken too. And I’m not sure it can be fixed anymore.
  3. Have you checked Crossroads Firearms on Broadway? Also try Smokey Mountain Gun Works at the intersection of Asheville Hwy and Govenor John Sevier Hwy?
  4. I found my old military flashlight yesterday, digging through a box in my office/man cave.
  5. Well he isn’t getting deported this time. Pretty sure the death penalty is the only thing on the table!

    What If Rifle...

When I started this thread, I was thinking about the newly passed Washington State Assault Rifle legislation. You can read the full text of the law here. https://lawfilesext.leg.wa.gov/biennium/2023-24/Pdf/Bills/House Passed Legislature/1240-S.PL.pdf#page=1 Surprisingly, the Ruger Mini rifles are not named, nor are M1 Carbines, or M1 Garands. However the Springfield Armory M1A and all it's forms and the SKS is (honestly, this makes zero sense to me). Nor are most U.S. produced PCCs.
  7. And one more time… https://www.cnn.com/2023/05/03/us/atlanta-midtown-shooting FOXNEWS has photos of the alleged gunman. https://www.foxnews.com/us/atlanta-active-shooter-situation-leaves-multiple-people-injured-police-say Per a CBS News interview from a woman leaving the hospital, she was told that the shooter was there for Psychological evaluation. When pressed how she knew that, she said that several people she knew told her that and she had also heard it on the police radios officers were carrying. Police say the do know the shooter’s identity and that they are looking for him.
  8. I wondered about doing that...
  9. It has a sealed transmission (pain in the ass) and has never been changed as far as I know. I bought it with 129K on it. But I think I will have it serviced and just have the fluid drained (not pressure flushed) and see if that helps.
  10. I have a Nemesis for my LCP Max. Good little holsters.

    What If Rifle...

I actually, have this very rifle. It's a Rossi M92 in .38/.357 with a 16" barrel. Love shooting it! Another rifle, I'm actually considering purchasing is a Ruger Ranch rifle in 5.56x45 NATO. As soon as I find one, I plan to purchase it. I plan on putting a RDS on it. I could see this possibly being a better choice, due to a longer range round. The fact that it could also take AR mags is a plus, since I have several 10 round AR mags. I think this would be compliant in pretty much every state.

    What If Rifle...

I guess I should have been clearer. I really meant to say like the ban Washington State just enacted. They basically banned all semi-autos and even went to far as to name them. You won't even be able to get repair parts for them. But if the Mini-14/30 were not banned, then I would think this would be the way to go, even though I think they are crappy rifles, based on the two that I owned back in the 90s. Neither would group worth a crap after 10 or 15 rounds.
  13. If anyone knows about that rabbit hole, it's you!
  14. What if we see a nationwide ban on semi-auto sporting rifles like the AR15/AK47, like what Washington State just enacted, in the next several years; what would be the next best self-defense/hunting rifle, in your opinion? What action and caliber would you choose? It probably should be compliant in all 50 states. I'm interested to see your all's opinions on the rifles, not politics.
  15. The M1A is a great rifle, but if I were to buy something like that, I'd be mighty tempted to add another caliber and buy a M1 Garand along with a bunch of ammunition and clips for it (it'd be about the same cost). For me, those just have a lot more history and pizzazz than the M1A. I use to shoot NM M14s for the Army in competition, and if they're built for right, they're super fun! But if it's just a run of the meal M1A. it's just another AR or AK rifle, just heavier. And to me, anymore, those are just meh too.
  16. I have a 2007 Toyota Tundra, with 207K. We just took it to Mrytle Beach last weekend and we pull a camper about once a month with it, for craft shows. I notice when it's cold, that the transmission tends to hesitate. My wife and I were talking about it replacing it in a couple of years, but with prices the way they are, we may just put a new transmission in in and keep it. I retire in the next 7 years, and I cannot for the life of me see spending $60+ grand on a new truck! It's just ridiculous!!!
  17. I think that's a good deal! That's just twice as much as I paid for the pack of off brand D Batteries. That's what I got. Brightness is about the same as the old style military flashlights, with the incandescent blubs.
  18. I was in Knox Tactical today and picked up two of these! The damned D-Cell batteries cost more than the flashlights! They still have a bunch of them! I highly recommend them. They have the extra lenses and the spare bulb.
  19. I ended up buying a Sticky Holster set up for an RDS. It works great and the price was right at $19.99+ tax.

    Next Glock?

    Really enjoy mine!!!
  21. If no one has one here, then there are plenty of Police Trade-ins available online. Good luck!
  22. Thanks for this. I refuse to use Round Up anymore, after I had a reaction to using it.
  23. Welcome to the game! And don't be shy about asking questions.
  24. Played some in HS and college and found it fun. Then life caught up with me. Cool that you still enjoy it though! I wouldn't mind picking it up again, with the right group. I have enjoyed playing Skyrim on the computer and console, which is D&D related. My kids and me were all into it at one point.
  25. That was a political CYA. He knew where those would end up, but now he can tell his constituents that he tried. The only one I would support was HB1584. But courts should already be doing that, so I fell to see why we need another law about that. I seriously doubt that it would have any affect what so ever.
