  1. The Differences between Factual Data, Opinions and Conclusions Definitions: Factual data is Information that can be proven to be real; it is observable or can be demonstrated. Opinions are ideas, thoughts and beliefs that are not necessarily based on factual data and have not been proven or verified. Conclusions are decisions or judgments that are arrived at after consideration of factual data, evidence or different hypotheses.
  2. As I've said, opinions and conclusions are different things.

    Seecamp?

That sounds fair enough all around. Phantom's broken fat fingers prefer the Seecamp - and he is unique too.
  4. I still carry an Applegate & Fairbairn design knife.
  5. Hi Matt. I'm from Blountville. Welcome to TGO!
  6. I am not a Christian. I'm a Methodist.
  7. Boy, this topic is getting messy....
  8. Then you need a better gun too.
  9. Well, next time I get to Nashville, I'll have to go by and meet Buford. It does seem that with the depth of feeling about the gentleman, perhaps that isn't the right place to have the TFA meetings. (Hint - maybe a restaurant is?) Cursing certainly doesn't bother me, but there are appropriate places for it and inappropriate places for it. In a business classroom is probably not a good place. I would be offended by it - not because of the cursing but because using that language in that setting would be such a stupid business practice. Stupidity offends me. But if I'm teaching you something on a range, you will probably hear me using a few expletives. Then again, you won't be paying for the training. You are free to leave. As far as the guns, Glocks aren't crap but they have to be used in the proper structured environment. Buford is undoubtedly correct that their pricing has a lot to do with their use by law enforcement agencies. Then again, so does Glock's reliability and accuracy. I think there are far better choices, but you all know that. I can't get excited about the Ruger SP101. It's OK, but not what I would recommend for most people.
  10. As I recall, it's: 1. 12 rds at 3 yds. 2. 12 rds at 7 yds. 3. 12 rds at 15 yds 4. 12 rds at any distance from 2-25 yds.(Instructor's choice)
  11. .... ....
  12. Uh, maybe ours?
  13. Clearly the AG is unable to read and understand TCA. I just lost all respect for the guy.
  14. If the gun works with factory ammunition but not reloads, it's the ammunition not the spring that needs replacing. Yes, that might "fix the problem" but also might introduce other problems. I'd just quit using the crappy ammunition. BTW, I replaced the spring on my Beretta 92 SB after twenty years. Someone gave me a replacement and so I replaced it, even though it didn't need replacing. If you have to replace springs very often, you need a better quality of spring.
  15. Actually, this topic has some very useful information. I don't know Buford from Shinola but while he's maybe right about some stuff...it sounds like he is a bit off the deep end on objectively drawing conclusions about all handguns. One thing I immediately notice is that his web page seems to be a screaming sales tool with more crap than substance. I see that on a lot of trainers' pages. I don't want to take classes in saving my life from a salesman. I want someone who is quietly well qualified, not P. T. Barnum. A big "look how great I am" page will probably just convince me how un-great they really are. The best trainers, in the sense of both teaching and knowing their stuff, are quiet but focused individuals. If you are really good, people will find out about it.
  16. There will always be conflicts. You just have to set a time and place and see who shows up. And if you change a time or place to accommodate someone, you piss off the people who could have come to the first time and place but can't make the new ones.
  17. I get to fly to Baghdad and meet Yeager in the streets? Some of the problem in this thread I think comes from a penchant for secretiveness that some posters have. Sometimes that is a good thing, but sometimes it isn't. I've never made much of an effort to hide who I am. Lots of folks here and on other boards know my name and more or less where I live. Since I have a listed phone number, the rest is easy to figure out. I don't just post my name and address more as a game for others, to let them figure out who I am. If you get stumped, I'll give you some more clues. I no longer think Sarah is a troll. Probably just scared and confused. I hope she can quit emoting and start thinking about the right course of action. No one should passively accept being frightened by other people. A refusal to accept being a willing victim is the reason we carry handguns. And as to Glocks.... I once read a story about how a Nikon F was accidentally dropped out of a helicopter at 1000 feet. When recovered, it worked perfectly. But Nikons make a lousy carry weapon.
  18. Actually, I think it's probably a guy. Probably Rabbi in the library with a lead pipe. And I thought it was interesting to mention both Glocks and Yeager in the same sentence Tungsten. Two of my most favoritest things in the whole world.
  19. Tower, I've been guessing a troll from her first post. I've mentioned that in private correspondence.
  20. I don't know if there is a filing charge. A phone call tomorrow can find out. But yes, the victim or someone who saw the incident will have to swear out the warrant.
  21. Yeah, they have to make the financial info available. But since you bumped the topic (thank you!) lets now go back to their secret Constitution and Bylaws.
  22. I had a Day Planner for my XD-9 subcompact. Worked very nicely, except that you would have to unzip it to get to the handgun.
  23. Hillbilly, if that's what you want, then that's what you should get. But if possible, try one out first. They are pretty heavy and clunky. I have a friend who bought a Thompson and only kept it about a month. But I do like this accessory.
  24. Maybe this will help explain the legal thing. This is from The Tennessee District Attorneys General Conference. Victim / Witness Handbook So...someone sees you commit a crime (like packing in a posted location) and swears out an arrest warrant against you. You can then either have your misdemeanor charge heard by a judge in General Sessions Court (judge decides), or demand a jury trial. OK, is that clear now? BTW, here is a good page explaining An Overview of Criminal Offenses under Tennessee Law
  25. In the case of a misdemeanor, an individual may file the charges even if an officer does not view the offense. If your neighbor is breaking Tennessee's noisy auto stereo ordinance, for example you may bring charges as an individual. Sort of like a citizen's arrest.
