  1. If it is one of the remotes that go with the little converter box thing you need for each TV when they went to the "digital Migration" (the ones with out the guide and OnDemand) There should be a button on the remote that says "LANG" press it to switch between English and Spanish. It can be on set to Spanish and still be heard in English if the show you are watching is not also recorded in Spanish.
  2. Ruger American ,Marlin XS or XL , or a Savage Axis. The Savage will heavy a pretty heavy trigger but it works fine for hunting. I would go with a 308 or 30-06 as you can find ammo for any game you want to hunt in the future. (bigger or smaller than deer) If you never plan to shoot anything over 150 or so, than a 30-30 would be a good choice. But you are limited to deer sized game in my opinion with the 30-30.
  3. The Ruger P Series pistols were tanks. Unfortunately they are as big and heavy as one also. Unless you find someone just really wanting one $300 is about all I'd expect to get form the P95. I got less than that for mine when I sold it. But I really didn't like the pistol, nor did I want to carry it around until I found the "right" buyer.
  4. Ruger as with most all other makers uses a 1/16" twist barrel in 22lr which is not the best suited for a 60gr bullet. Most of the time they will group "OK" in short distances. Move the target out (50 yards+ or sometimes less) and the groups get bigger and/or keyhole. They make after market barrels for the 10/22 and it is very easy to change the barrel on one. At some point Dolomite ( a member here) will surely come along and tell you all you need to know about 60gr in 22lr.
  5. I too can't see it being the spring. I think maybe the extractor didn't pull the case out of the chamber. That or the slide didn't come back enough to eject the case. I'd still replace the spring since it has been know to turn sideways (on installation) and cause the pistol to fire when the trigger resets. More than likely you'll not have any problems the way it is now. But I'm kind of paranoid when it comes to things working right when it comes to safety parts.
  6. Good to hear. They are in fact made to shoot. If they were only made to collect and look at there'd be no need for them to fire. I kind of think of it as an insult to the designer of the firearm if you don't shoot it. It would be like buying fine art work and hanging it backwards.
  7. You might get $25 more for it being OD. But when all is said and done, it's still a Glock. And there are millions of them out there. If you plan to keep it as an "investment" pistol, I do not think it will pay off "big" in the future.
  8. Does the Gen4 have the extended slide lock? For me I don't like it, I seem to ride the extended release and it fails to lock back most of the time. I can change my grip and it locks back 100%. I never use it to release the slide so I can live with out it. Congrats on the new purchase. Hope you find plenty ammo to keep it going.
  9. They were made between 1911-1925 so that could be true. Check your PM for more info....
  10. Refer to post #3 and #5 here. And if the page here is correct (http://www.remingtonsociety.com/rsa/questions/FR04) It should have been made before Sept 30, 1919.
  11. I've never had a CZ pistol that wasn't accurate even when shooting it the first time. The only time I ever had a problem was with an AFTER MARKET Mag that would jam on the 10th round every time. Easy fix, I got a FACTORY CZ mag and problem fixed. I guess the only negative would be that it takes a bit longer to clean than my Glocks but faster than a 1911. You just can NOT go wrong with a CZ.....I think you made a GOOD choice.
  12. I haven't had any problems with the CMMG kit I have in a Windham Arms. I've never even fired 5.56/223 in that rifle yet. I do kind of wish I had a dedicated upper for it as the way it is now it get REALLY nasty in the trigger group /lower after shooting.
  13. The CMMG kit I shoot is about 2" or a little more at 25 yards with the CCI Mini-Mag ammo. I've never bothered to try any other brands. I've only shot about 125 rounds through the rifle and so far it has worked 100%. It does get the lower VERY dirty and kind sucks to clean the trigger parts. I shoot it from a Windham Arms Carbine 16" barrel 1/9 twist Chrome lined. Maybe it is your barrel or maybe it's the ammo? I do hope you find the problem as it is alot cheaper to shoot .22 than 5.56
  14. What happens is that when the police confiscate the firearm and run a check the gun is reported as not stolen. The police department don't just auction them off or sell them in the same week, or event he same month or even year. They have to keep it until they close the case on what ever it was that they took the gun. I've seen it happen personally, My Grandfather was going to buy a Remington 870 from an FFL (here in Knox County) the Remington was bought from from a local Police department. When went to buy the 870 it came back STOLEN. I still don't know what ever happened to the FFL, as he though maybe the police department MIGHT issue him a refund? And if you must know, the FFL Dealer was "Personal Defense Options" off Watt Road in Knoxville. They are GREAT people and hate that it happened. I hope the police department made it good with them.
  15. Now let's see if ammo "sellers" jack up the price again? I remember when .380 was priced at over $35 for FMJ target rounds. The 1000 round thing is really funny, since they want to report anyone buying over 1000 rounds with in 5 days. There goes buying 2 boxes of Federal 550 bulk .22LR.
  16. "It requires licensed ammunition dealers to maintain records of the sale of ammunition." That's going to be a whole bunch of paper work. Pretty much makes it more trouble than it is worth to sell ammunition. And here we go again with the ammo hoarders......Just like 2008 all over again.
  17. I've found Remington CoreLokt in 130rg. shoot well in just about every .270 rifle I've shot. As for breaking it in, I honestly don't think it is needed on a hunting rifle. By the time you get it dialed in and then shoot a couple 3 shot groups that should be broke in enough for hunting. Here is what weatherby says about the break-in What does Weatherby® recommend as a break in procedure TWO BOX BARREL BREAK-IN This barrel break-in procedure requires two boxes of ammunition to complete. Start out by shooting one round at a time, cleaning the barrel thoroughly after each round and allowing it to cool. This process should be followed for a total of ten rounds. Then take the remaining thirty rounds and shoot ten three shot groups, cleaning the barrel thoroughly after each group and allowing it to cool completely before firing the next group. Once ten, three shot groups have been fired the barrel is adequately broken in. At this point the rifle can be sighted in and used.
  18. According to the article they will supply "as many as" 12,000 pistols. That works out to $1,875.00 EACH. They could have bought 3 Glock 21 pistols for every 1911 and had a little money left over. I'm not saying the clot is not a good gun or that a Glock is better. All I'm saying is that is a WHOLE lot of money.
  19. No problem man, Looks like you got yourself a good pistol there. I've never owned a G17, but if they shoot half as good as my G19 I know it's a keeper.
  20. The number just means it has the "newer" Recoil Spring Assembly. The older one had No number on it. Do a search on "Glock RSA Number" The correct way of typing in your number is "0-2-4" if you want to research your RSA. Refer to this chart: http://glock.pro/glo...blies-gen4.html You can also call Glock and ask them. Here is their RSA exchange page with the number to call if you want to be sure yours is the newest. http://us.glock.com/...spring-exchange
  21. Is has been reported that the new duller finish glocks have had some rust problems. They seemed to switch the finish on them back around the time the Gen4 came out and maybe before that. Last I heard they were back to the older Shinier finish on the slides and the duller finish still on the barrels. The duller finish has reported to wear better and last longer on the barrels. As the older shiny barrels had wear on them in ~250 rounds or so. I have seen a dull finish barrel, but have yet to see a dull finish slide on a new Glock. Haven't really hard though. Although some have claimed to have them and that is the ones that seemed to have the rust issues. I seen one old G17 with just a hint of rust on it. But it was well worn and looked like it had been left in a barn for years. It was in a Pawn and I just had to look at it to see if it was really rust. It was I was kind of shocked...hahaa
  22. All I needed to know was it was on TruTV. I'll pass...................... Tru(e)Tv...LMFA...hahaaaa
  23. I think it is was pretty harsh punishment and he went too far with it.. But if you take time to do a little research you will find out it was for Illegally down loading games and music. I think maybe him being a Judge and her being the "Judge's Daughter" might have pushed him over the edge. I'm not saying what he did was right. But I can see how he would be more upset then most. Still not an excuse for that amount of beating he gave her.
  24. I've been looking at one in 25-06. But haven't bought it yet. I sure don't need another High(er) powered rifle. But I'm a fan of stainless and 25-06. For the price, I don't see how you can go wrong?
