  1. I think maybe the moon? But it is turned the wrong way and missing the star. Honestly, I could care less. If it's cheap enough and works like it should then fine with me. They can print "Religious Republicans Suck" on it for all I care. Just make it Cheap and make it of Quality. +1 on this

    Ported barrel

If you do get a ported barrel make sure the ports are OUTSIDE and in front of the slide. Or you'll have to port your slide. Otherwise, this could happen This picture was taken from a post here: http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_5_13/126091_.html
  3. If they are legal, it is FINE with me. What's the difference it that and issuing a drivers license?
  4. Not sure why she was billed. Not unless he was under 18 and she was still held responsible for him. I think maybe they billed her because it's obvious they aren't going to get him to pay it. (her son) I know that sounds bad, but I'd tell them it's not my problem. I wasn't in any accident. Bill it to the other guy since he is still alive and was in the accident. Honestly, this does not surprise me at all since it involves money.
  5. They look nice. The top looks heavy for some reason. But I'm sure it wasn't intended to be carried around very far since it was made for long range shooting, huh? What length is that barrel? (the.308) As for the bottom .300, I like it. But don't know enough about that round. Camo looks nice though.
  6. But it didn't work to generate any money. So they made it legal again and TAXED it. It's typical government, The easiest way to get want you want is BUY it. It's really no different than Firearms. They make it look like they don't want us to have them. So they "compromise" and let us have them, so long as we pay the government money to make, sell, buy and shoot them.
  7. I'm not saying that shooting didn't start fires. But it sure is an easy way to get the ball rolling towards banning shooting on public lands. One of the big problems I've heard about and even seen is the trash left behind buy shooters. I know it's cool to take stuff and shoot at it but at least clean up after yourself after you're done.
  8. Getting hit with a baseball is the least of her problems. If she were in a baseball park and didn't have enough sense to know there is a chance of getting hit by ball. Let alone a Ball park were KIDS are playing. Then there isn't enough money in the world to help that woman.

    357 sig ..

I have a G33 that is very accurate. I love it except for the price on ammo. I don't reload so I shoot mine very little. I can shoot the G33 better than any of the other SubCompact Glocks I've shot. I've thought about buying a 9mm barrel for it so I can shoot it more. I will say that in my opinion , the 357Sig is over exaggerated. So if you are buying it only off the fact of it being a "fast" round. I'd look at something else. Cheaper to shoot.....
  10. I just paid $3.09 for it tonight. Think it will drop past $3.00?
  11. I checked their site and it doesn't say not to use it on blued finishes. I don't think it would hurt anything. I'd maybe take a grip off and try it on a small area first if it worries you. Apparently it is non-toxic and has a Cedar smell to it? I've never used it, I just us a bore brush, brass brush (tooth brush style) and what gun cleaner I have handy. I mostly use RemOil and CLP.
  12. Thank you, I'll have to give that a try.
  13. I never have used the ones that have the built in brush. But I'd think after the first couple passes the thing would be pretty dirty. So any further passes would just smear the old powder and oil back down the barrel? But I will try and find a snake with a loop in the end, maybe even make one?
  14. Ok, so the jag tips are for the birds. At least on the 17 cal. It's either to big, to small, or the jag punches through the patch. And I eventually just give up and wad patches up and cram them in the camber and press then through. The bore mops are no better, they just dirty up REAL fast. Any one found a slotted "loop" patch holder tip for the .17 cal rod? I shot 3 different 17HMR rifles this weekend and had to clean them all. By the time I was done, my patience was tested thoroughly.......
  15. I own both blued and stainless. The Stainless won't rust as fast and resist wear a little better. Leather holsters don't wear the finish as bad. But the down side is you really have to clean them good to make them look "clean" The worst part is the powder ring on the front of the cylinder. I'm to the point now where those "black" rings are just going to have to stay there. It takes a lot of time and work to make it look new again. As for blued, holsters seem to eventually wear the blue off to a point. And it will rust "faster" I don't go crazy and soak the gun in oil either unless I'm going to store it for a year at a time. If it does rust a little just rub it with "0000" steel wool and oil and move on. After all you live in South East and it hard to fight the humidity and sweat. Both of witch cause the most rust issues in my experience. Also, you don't have to worry about the powder "stains" as the blue masks it pretty good.
  16. I've shot both. And for me the the Mini-14 was bulky and needed a pistol grip. The accuracy is ok for for man targets, but the AR's I've owned had it beat in accuracy. I'd go AR if I had to choose just one.
  17. Yeah, they just look so goofy to me. But I could see a need for them if your optics failed.
  18. I found the G31 to be one of the more accurate Glocks I owned. So the accuracy you speak of doesn't sound right at all. But the only ammo I ran through the G31 was Speer Lawman 125 TMJ. I have ran WWB in my G33 and it seemed to have been just about as good. I'd maybe try to find another barrel and try it, or even let some one else shoot it and see if they can get any better groups. I have never been able to shoot a G22 very good. I've had 3 or them and none shot good for me. But other people could shoot it and do better. Never have figured it out.
  19. I'll check it out. All ways good to see some folks from Tn on there.
  20. You won't have to look hard to see what rifle is yours. Looks good to me, I think it is cool to see people customize their guns. My problem is I tend to sell one gun to buy another. So I leave them "stockish" looking. What I like some potential buyer may not, come time I need money for my new gun.
  21. The 25-06 is a SWEET round with a very flat trajectory and is still consider to be one of the best all time varmint/big game combo guns. It recoils less than the 30-06 and the .270, the down side is it cost more and you'd be better of handloading if you plan to shoot it a lot. I will one day own a Ruger All-Weather in 25-06 but I've got other thing on my list before I get one. Like the SR1911. I think you REALLY need to shoot that rifle. You just don't know what you are missing.
  22. I recommend a .308 since you have just about any bullet type and weight. That way you can target shoot and hunt. Hunt anything from Varmint to Big Game. It's also cheaper than 30-06 as far as FMJ target rounds. As far as rifle choice I'd say the Remington will hold a better resell value. The Ruger is to new for me to buy at this point when the Savage has proven itself. I personally own three Ruger M77/MKII and am not afraid to say the Savage is just as good and in some cases better than the higher priced Ruger. I just like Ruger rifles.
  23. Typically any time you use more powder and a smaller hole (bore) it results in faster barrel throat erosion. One way to help minimize the erosion is by letting the barrel cool between shots and using a barrel with steel that is more resistant to heat. Which is why alot of bench and varmint guns use stainless barrels. The speed at which the bullet travels out of the barrel has little to do with erosion or wearing out the barrel. Speed and heat come from the powder and that is pretty much the #1 reason barrels "wear out" All you have to remember is this: Small bores and big cases "usually" mean shorter barrel life.
  24. I recommend a Savage or a Remington as they are known for accuracy out of the box. Plus there are many after market parts and barrels for both. The Savage barrel can pretty much be replaced at home if you have the right tools, So if you decide to change caliber or just upgrade the barrel that helps. For the price and for it being a "starter" rifle the Savage seems fit the bill a little better as it is "cheaper".
  25. Very good info. Thanks for the video.
