Add to that the fact that Wally instituted a stupid one box PERIOD limit... I haven't bought ammo there in awhile!
Really? On all ammo? The one here still limits 22lr, but nothing else
 2.
... on Russian steel ammo. Both .223 and 7.62x39 Tulammo are over .30/round. Can beat that online by 5 to 7.5 cents per round delivered. Wasn't long ago it was the opposite. That is all, over and out. - OS
Right there with ya. 100 round federal .223 is $40 and change. After taxes I can get Wolf Gold shipped for a couple bucks cheaper and I actually prefer the Wolf.
 3.
Been looking for a decent holster for my newly aquired G34 IDPA gun and not having much luck. Well I say that, every holster I strapped on felt like I had a shoe box stuck on my hip! So I ordered the stuff and this is what I have so far. Still need some cleanup and polishing the edges but I think I'm gonna like it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'd pay good money for that, and by that I mean it looks great. If you don't mind me asking, about how much do you have in it? Time excluded, of course. I've got one I really like for the range in coyote tan but considering what I paid for it I'd like to try and make a black one myself. ETA: picture of the coyote one I'd like to semi-replicate, only picture I have
 4.
Women have purses and us guys have holsters. At least it's like that with my wife and me. She has a crap load of purses and never seems to find the right one. The same goes with me. I have went through a ton of holsters and I am now narrowing it down to a few. This is getting expensive and it's got to stop  Who here also suffers from this infliction ? Here are my holsters I may keep but you never know :snore:
Finally a support group I fit in with. Most of the ones I own I've only used once or twice, enough to see they weren't for me. I don't have a count right now, but I know it's over 10. A lot of mine were just on sale at the time or something, I guess I haven't convinced myself that even though it's on sale, it still costs money. By the way tercel, do you like your alien gear holsters as much as I do?
 5. Wow, very cool. Good on the school as well. Definitely something to be proud of man!
 6.
Sure. My future bride and I had just rented a house together. One Saturday we'd been doing the party thing all day that 20 year olds do. About 9 that evening there's a knock at the door. She opens the door and 3 guys in ski masks rush in. Guy in front is a skinny little f^(% with some sort of piddly little automatic pistol. Probably some POS .25. Guy behind him has a single barrel shotgun. No idea what's going on with the guy in back. I came into the room and the guy in front says something like "where is it?". Well, being the 25 year old testosterone filled jackass I was at the time I head straight to the guy in front and proceed to grab handful of scraggly red beard and yank it out of his face. He pops off a round into the floor and I'm so damn drunk I just keep charging the three of them. They turn tail and run out the front door with me behind. After they disappear I walked across the street to the gas station and used the payphone to call the cops. It seems that the cops believed the previous tenants had been dealing a little pot. True story. I guess the lord does watch over fools.
Wow, thanks for sharing. I'm glad it ended the way it did and not much worse. To the OP, and to echo what others have said...unless there's people up on that higher floor that I'm charged with protecting (kids, wife, so on) there's no way I'm going up those stairs. I understand he may have had to positively I.D. that there were actual intruders to make a 911 call and not a squirrel, but for me personally I would have been waiting in a safe place for them to funnel down that stairwell. He got lucky, very lucky that all he had was a concussion. I won't address wether or not he should've shot the intruder in the back because I don't believe I have to, I believe the confrontation should've happened on a smarter front. But, I also know it's easy to armchair quarterback, and not so easy to think when under that type of situational adrenaline and stress
 7. Good for you guys that can get it at that price, did they have a limit?
 8. Cookville? Figures it would be over an hour from me
 9. If you read the last point under technical specs, it tells you
 10.
Savage for sure. I personally own a Remington 700 in .223, and I wish I'd gone with a Savage... not that Savage would be any better, overall, but it's at least equivalent, for much much less money.
I will have to add the caveat with my suggestion. If the extra $200 or so won't hurt you, I'd go with the Savage too. The MVP can be had for under $600, so naturally it won't be quite as refined as the Savage
 11. I personally like the mossberg MVP. It has several variants and barrel lengths, and it takes AR magazines. I've got mags-a-plenty so it's a big selling point to me.
 12.
Yep. And the vast majority of those rifles will never be shot anywhere near enough to show any appreciable parts wear or breakage from being overgassed, so it's just easier for the manufacturers to err on the side of caution. And to be honest, most of the parts that are going to wear/break because of the overgassing are cheap and easy to replace anyway.
Not to reinforce your point, but on a different tangent... most of those rifles will be bought by people who will never know they're overgassed. People that think the hard recoil is "normal". Probably 90% of all AR's out there aren't tuned like they should be. Yeah, it bothers me
 13.
You'd probably never be over gassed w a stock AR until u start making changes
I was going to correct this, but Dolo beat me. Also, the vast majority of barrels I've seen on the "budget" ($200 or so) end of things have largely oversized gas holes for the same reason. So even if you build, be careful
 14.
Are there any negatives with having an over gased gun besides it being dirty ? Would it cause the action and bolt to slam against the gun harder and hurt it ?
Yes, over time it will wear parts faster. Think of it as beating itself up.
 15.
This came across my Facebook feed a while back and may have already been shared here, but it's relevant to this thread... http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2014/04/26/former-navy-seal-on-the-one-piece-of-advice-you-need-to-protect-yourself/
Saw that on fb the other day. Truer words have not been spoken
 16. I personally hate gas stations. I think you learned something valuable, that's for sure. I always try to stay aware, even more so here lately. One of my "favorite" gas stations to go to here in Columbia was robbed at gunpoint last week. It's well lit, and only a few feet off the main highway. I'm in there at least a couple times a week since it's only minutes from our home. Just shows you never know, that's why we carry
 17. As everyone else says, the LR is a fuzz high, but I bought some too if that tell you anything. Be sure and do some research on the critical defense if you plan on using it in your carry weapon
 18.
I'm 5'9" and weigh 130lbs. I'm about as small a guy as it gets. If I can conceal the 19 all year long in Florida anybody can. Crossbreed Supertuck and a T shirt-no one ever knows. About 80% of the time I carry OWB in a comp-tac paddle holster and still hide it decently.
Yeah it may be my build. I'm 6'3" 240 and I use an alien gear IWB around 4:30ish, that's just what's most comfortable. In all reality, I may just buy both. At one point or another I've had the whole 9mm line minus a 34 and gave them up stupidly. I MUST have a 17 again though since I've gotten back into pistol shooting quite a bit
 19. I hate you guys (I say that with love) You guys are worse than having another woman in my life, always taking the money right out of my wallet
 20. Geez man that's scary. I'll warn my dad. I hope you or the authorities are able to catch this sob
 21.
I had been thinking when ammo gets a little better about asking if he wants to go one weekend.
Heck make him buy! lol my vote is expensive!
 22. If he holds true to his word, that's pretty awesome.
 23. There are only a couple people in this world I can think of I would trust enough to shoot their reloads. I've often wondered about commercial reloads though. Never tried any, and don't really plan to, but the cheaper price can be tempting at times
 24.
Yeah, but probably at a community college of liberal arts getting an associate's degree in " urban community planning". Ha.
Lol touché
 25.
Wait till you get a 19- you'll sell your 26 and carry the 19 instead. Ask me how I know!
If you're referring to me, I have the 19 currently. I sold off my other Glocks and regret it. I don't conceal it very well in the summer so I have been thinking about getting a 26 just for the summer. Right now my only smaller option is an LCP and I hate that thing. If you were referring to someone else, my fault
