That may be the case. But maybe correlation is not causation :) It seems like most TVs are getting to be smarttvs anyway these days. Great way to build in obsolescence.
-
That is nice (other than that I don't have or ever intend to have an XBox One) but really a separate thing from being a smart TV IMO.
-
I don't really care for smart TVs. I view them much like those old TV/VCR combos. Consider the TV picture and properties first and anything else is just gravy in my book (i.e. in a short period of time, it won't be good anymore).

Franklin itself is a little closer than Cool Springs and has a fair bit going on. Cool Springs can be a little fickle as most stuff is oriented towards the work week.
-
I agree. It could look a lot better but then I consider that maybe the aim is to make it look kind-of bland so it doesn't draw the eye.
-
I'm not drawn to it but I think I'd have to handle and shoot it before making it a "heck no"
-
I'll bet they do a left hand version. If for no other reason than you need a matching pair for dual-handed shooting.
-
That's the "curve" part. The bullet curves upwards as it exits the barrel. (In seriousness, I'm sure it's all accounted for)
-
Meh, it's only the plastics so in theory, they can hit a couple of programs on their CAD software and knock out a mold for a left-handed version also. The magazine looks like it's probably straight to me.

I wasn't aware of that functionality in Calibre. Mostly I've just used it for converting file-types and occasionally stripping the DRM from Amazon e-books. I'll have to look into that.

First year this year that Frontline (generic) didn't work. Switched to the Advantage and it appears to be doing good.

Probably too late now but https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager

Ouch, I've seen some of those. I just kinda assumed the military would be using correct gear. You know how that saying goes... I've been looking into the sockets recently as I brought a 240V (3KW) kettle back from the UK on my recent vacation and am looking at getting it wired in safely. You guys are finally starting to get a decent kettles, they're just a bit underpowered.

You can convert epub for the kindle. Calibre is the software I use but not sure if it's available for Windows. I don't believe the Kindle can download e-books directly from the browser. However, you can set up an email address on the amazon site that you can email documents to and they will show up on your kindle wirelessly. This can actually be a cute way to send notes, poetry, whatever to your SO.

True. Surprised we haven't run across someone hooking them up to a treadmill to generate electricity or maybe pull a cart.
-
Why are they not using the correct connectors? There's little excuse for 220V on a standard US 110V socket unless a dumb adaptor is being used.

Looks like the Voyage brings back the physical buttons. Good, they were a lot better than the touchscreen operation, especially since the UI got a little laggy in a recent update. Also lighter, better resolution and contrast. A few ergonomic improvements... Hmm. Not real physical buttons so it remains to be seen if it's better than tapping the page. Sounds like it might work well though. I liked being able to turn the page with a twitch of my thumb on the Mk1. It's probably a while until they drop the price (they do it at the same time each year) so probably a case of get it if you want it. WRT Wifi, you should see if a neighbor has an open hotspot. Though you don't actually need it to operate the Kindle, it's just a nice-to-have. Everything can be done over USB (though you won't get the OS updates, you probably won't notice the difference). (Edit: I think the initial setup must be done with a network connection to register the Kindle to your Amazon account if you want to use their service)

No. Though it may have been out from the original crash as you suggest (I thought the same thing though so it may have been a continuity thing). Somewhat of a lame episode but that often happens before a high action one. Here's hoping for next week.

I have one of these but generally it's too much faffing about And despite the claims of the foodie who recommended it to me, it doesn't really taste any better than a French Press. Cool to see in action though.

Keurig seems to be being pushed by WM at the moment. However, I already had a Senseo for several years and the pods are significantly cheaper than the k-cups. The Senseo has been rocking like a champ and I have a spare in reserve (Philips had a deal for a while where you just paid the shipping) but when it's time for something new, I'm going to go for this one which can do cups, pods or straight ground coffee and gets better reviews than the Keurig machines. http://www.amazon.com/MCU-Single-Multi-Use-Coffee-Brewer/dp/B009PLQ5H2

Yup. Just need a fancy logo and a marketing campaign.

Hmm, Just had an idea for a new product: The Callus-Master 3000. Realistic calluses in a week with no heavy lifting. Anyone want to invest?

I was thinking there had already been a second one. I guess this is a different branch or something.

Not so much a fact of life as a fact of government printing up money. More money around, the more of it you need to exchange for goods & services. The rule of thumb that I've used in my lifetime is prices double about every 10 years. That's been accelerating recently though. Honest estimates of inflation are up near 10%.
