Anybody in Nashville do 80% lower AR "build Parties"?
tnguy replied to serbu50's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Bump. Will be interested in this soon. Will have lower & jig. If someone is willing to host the party, that would be good otherwise plan is to wait for the HF mill to go on sale (I've seen it as low as 400) and get that. If I get that, I'll probably mod it to CNC at some point. Then we might be looking at some 0% lowers :) No rush on this, just testing the waters. Oh, if you're thinking of getting into this, tacticalmachining.com is having a christmas sale right now. -
I think part of it was growing up in a home where my dad was an avid DIYer. I bet about only 50% of what is there now is original. You can't do that with a rental. When my brother was being born in the front bedroom, he took the day off work... and spent it at the top of a garden building a shed. I haven't inherited all of that gene but I don't know how I'd feel if I couldn't throw in an ethernet jack or cut holes in things when I wanted to. Not that I'm criticizing those who would prefer to rent, I just don't understand it. I guess I'm like that Duck Dynasty guy that way. :P

Purty. One of those frames would probably make a neat avatar.

80% build party in Chattanooga. Let's make it happen!

80% christmas sale at tactical machining. http://www.tacticalmachining.com/80percentreceiver-christmas-sale.html -
I am sure you realize that's not for the veterans, right?

I don't really understand (well I do but bear with me) why it's at the whim of politicians anyway. Benefits are part of the compensation package and should be settled *when you sign up*. There should be no government fiddling with it after that point. If they want to adjust what they will offer to those who are yet to sign up, fine but no backsies.

I'd still rather own than rent. I thought we were all about personal responsibility here :p

Congress Warned of Potential for Citizen Revolt

They have also been quite careful to avoid looking like regular despotism and keep some of the trappings of liberty. Sharp uniforms and goose stepping and disappearing dissidents is off the table in the modern soft tyranny. Payroll deductions and QE rather than looting. -
If I had run across any source of cheap lead at any time, I might make it a priority. As it is, reloading is something that seems like it might be interesting but would likely be yet another thing I just don't have time for.

It'll drive the cost up as it will now have to compete with usage in childrens' toys.

I bet. All you have to do is call it a kilt and you're good to go. Most women's clothing seems far too impractical for my tastes. Give me a t-shirt and some pants with pockets I can load up with crap and I'm good to go.

I need to sign up. I keep seeing the good deals once they are gone. Not that I should be biting right now anyway.

I could dig something that would fire a three round burst for $200 tops. But even then, I'd still have to think twice.

What if the mask is actually made of bacon? Is it OK then? (please say yes)

If he could get what he was asking, it could be a good thing. Cutting debt by $5000 is no small thing. I'd suggest he might want to be even a little more severe if he really wanted to clear his debts quickly but I don't know his circumstances (an SUV or truck may be a requirement. For many it really isn't. But that usually sparks some irrelevant arguments).
-
It should but you might still find some would be uncomfortable with that. It may be your best option though.

Nothing too much. Just I have heard stories of people buying vehicles that still have money owing on them and then the seller doesn't pay off the outstanding amount and vehicle gets repossessed etc. Not that I'm suggesting that you would do anything like that, just that anyone who would be willing to be a buyer in such a scenario isn't thinking straight. As such, you'd also probably be better off avoiding such a scenario as it increases the pool of buyers to you.

When I bought a bike with debt on it, we met at the credit union, I paid off the debt (as part of the purchase price) and when the debt was cleared, the rest of the sale proceeded as usual. I would suggest that anyone wanting to purchase a vehicle with an outstanding loan at the completion of the sale was crazy so you might want to make sure you offer ways around that. Another option would be the bridging loan. With respect to your debts, Dave Ramsey recommends smallest to largest with usually the house the last. This makes a lot of sense in my book.

Definitely. Good renters are worth their weight in gold (If you're a decent landlord).

Oh, I think the most anti-gay people are often gay. Look at people like Larry Craig for example. Now, admittedly, they aren't part of the community. That's a different matter. Point is, a few don't speak for all of us.

Part of any community is anti-gay. Possibly even including the gay community.
