  1. Perhaps we should all start requesting private letter rulings until they get fed up and stop this BS.
  2. Heck, there's plenty enough places that refuse us service at the door. With only a sign, not a nice verbal "F*** off" even.
  3. I'd assume if they were buying a cake, they probably went together. If not that, probably the choice of topper: I suspect for such a brazen example as you give, there's a good chance the baker would have chosen not to bake such a cake. Who knows? FWIW, were in their place, I would have baked the cake and been glad that two people could find happiness. It's rare enough in this world. But I recognize that other people have different opinions and beliefs than me and as long as they are not harming others, I should respect that. That applies to both gay people (I hate the term "gays") and homophobic bakers. No one. Then maybe a more tolerant baker would take their place.
  4.   So what? That's their choice. They should be able to enter business or not with whoever they choose for whatever reason they want. If they go against community standards, they'll go out of business as it should be. The government has no place sticking it's nose in.
  5. Well, Franklin is a bit of a pricey area. I think Uselton was $15 the one time I went.   I am thinking I may have to give them a try. There is *nowhere* I know of to shoot out at Dickson. (OK, there is an IDPA club)
  6. Banditos with badges.
  7.     You can check density (a little tricky) or there are electrical tests which use induction. Both are kinda out of the reach of your average punter doing a casual transaction.   *Gold's density is 19.30 gm/cm3. Tungsten's density is 19.25 gm/cm3, only 0.26% different.
  8. Absolutely. If you don't understand it, you probably shouldn't be buying it. For myself, I started reading about it last year. From the various things I have knowledge of (some would argue flawed knowledge) I saw immediately that it was a fantastic design and bought in immediately. Here's a fun picture for you.
  9.   These have been being found in reputable gold dealers' stocks. It's quite concerning.
  10. Yay. Got back out there to pick them up. Had a quick peak, looks good. Looking forward to getting home and taking a closer look.
  11. It's not a bad idea to diversify. Gold is kinda hard to subdivide usefully. Make sure you have real gold too and not certificates. Also, be careful of this
  12.   They wouldn't?   No one said it wasn't FUBAR.
  13. It's a computationally expensive function. You're basically competing with others to solve a riddle and the one who wins (or the team) gets a bunch of bitcoins.   The bonus is that solving the riddle also serves an important function in the Bitcoin protocol.   Whoever solves the block also gets any transaction fees that people have attached to their transactions. Over time, income is expected to switch from mining bitcoins to transaction fees for those running the equipment. Bitcoin mining (for new coins) will cease in 2040 (due to the way the protocol is set up).   It's all amazingly well put together.
  14. If they were interested, there would be other ways they could do it also such as pre-ordering. I am sure they are hoping that this ceases to be an issue soon as much as we are. I know the guy at my local Wal-mart made some comments that indicated that he was getting pissed off at constantly being asked if they had 22 in.
  15. Well, ordered. I guess I'll get to see what it's like. If nothing else, it will be good for spare/emergency parts. Little worrying that the invoice number is only in the low thousands though.
  16.   This is why the legislature is supposed to make the laws. We're not supposed to be at the mercy of regulatory agencies.
  17.     Since the lower is the firearm, perhaps the kit on its own would not be a problem. Who knows with California?
  18.   Maybe it was just French.
  19.   Good call. Thanks.   Hmm. Think I'll stick with the 5.56.
  20. Better that a business be able to refuse service to military and then everyone knows about it and can withdraw their custom than that business be protected from their stupidity by government regulation.
  21. Hopefully this cold weather will break the cycle. Fewer people shooting and continued supply may leave the gougers unable to restock. Once ammo stays on the shelves, it's game over for them.
  22. Nice find. Possibly exactly what I'm looking for. Think it's worth the extra $20 for the barrel upgrade?
  23. I don't think stuff comes in randomly at WM. WM is all about inventory control. I'm sure everything is timed so that stuff coming in and having staff there to stock shelves is well coordinated.
  24. That's why it's popular and that's why the gougers like it.   Tin foil hat people like it because it's cheap & easy to stockpile and small game will likely be the name of the game when it all goes pear-shaped.
  25.   Same here. I consider ammo as replaceable but I have mostly pistol rounds anyway.   I do need to sort out a decent long-gun safe but have no idea where to put it. The basement might work but it gets humid down there.
