Still waiting to hear anything about that pistol upper (That was ar15hardware.com)
-
Too many complaints about the UPK for my nerves. Though I have to say that the lower kit I bought had everything needed. Perhaps there's just a wonky employee they keep moving around instead of firing.
-
I think it was 55 from what I read but I was paying far too little attention. At this stage, I wouldn't be surprised if I was looking at a box of crayons :) Probably will bite on the PSA deal if it's still going today or tomorrow. It's payday :) I just need to make some extra effort to do more shooting if I do get them.

720 rds for 420 dollars. I misremembered by quite a lot :) (Edit: I have a sneaking suspicion the price is a little higher too. I suspect those will be sitting there a while).
-
OK. The wife is going to WM later (maybe) so I'll get her to check on the details. They said they've been there a while and not been moving (at that price, understandable).

Note that the greater range does not necessarily mean a better lens. There are always trade-offs. I got my T3i with the 18-55 lens and picked up the 55-200 at a later date.
-
I have a T3i and I'm pleased with it. Here's one I took earlier. http://perihelion.nfshost.com/btchuge.jpg Make sure to zoom in.

NT - misread the story.

I cannot fill out the form as I have never been affected by gun violence. And yet I know dozens of people with guns. I must be doing something wrong.

Magazines...stored full or empty when on standby?
tnguy replied to Sidewinder's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
If they're empty, they're not on standby. -
I think these might be 1500s but I wasn't really paying attention. I'll try to get another look but I avoid WM this time of year (Between Jan 1st and Dec 31st)

Constitutional Amendment Convention Gaining Momentum
tnguy replied to gun sane's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I think we have to be careful to allow some variation in what are acceptable parameters for being on "our side". There are many things that reasonable, rational people can disagree on. On the other hand, it's possible to go too far the other way and many of those in power, including many of those "my side" votes for do nothing but wear the right clothes but in their hearts, they are not clear in their goals. I would estimate that 80% of the regulars on Fox News are not sincere or deep in their beliefs, O'Reilly seems to be the worst for this, unprincipled and as knee-jerk as any liberal. When I first came over in 2000, he was nowhere near as bad but now whenever I see him on, it is clear he has no aim other than to sell books, boost ratings and be a "personality". Because of this and because the statists are running at full steam, the potential for disaster is immense. We are in no way close to being ready for this fight in this arena. If the statists are at 110%, we're running at about 10. Mitch McConnell, the leader of what is purportedly "Our side" in the senate sold us out for a dam in his home state. Talk to the people you know, conservatives, see how many would be happy with universal background checks and restrictions on magazines, semi-auto rifles and other "evil gun" features. Already the ATF bends the second out of recognition with their "regulations", effective laws which should have been written by the legislature (or not at all). Imagine the 2nd rewritten with that built-in. The first isn't safe either. The 4th will be disemboweled with a rusty spoon in the name of anti-terrorism. The 5th? Probably follow England's lead there. The 9th, already the red-headed stepchild, gone. Forget the USA, it won't be United States anymore, it will be the Central North American Republic. Will all this happen? Probably not. But in the name of "Compromise", plenty will. It just depends if you want it quick or slow and drawn-out. -
Anyone up to split a can of 5.56? They have them at my local walmart but at 450, that's more than I'd want to buy in one go just yet.
-
I'm just going to get them to send it to my home and then I'll send it out myself. Less chance for something dumb happening. I am somewhat annoyed at Amazon over this as there were cheaper options available but I chose the ones that had Amazon Prime due to the cheap and quick shipping.
-
Well, mine now turns out to be held-up because Fedex doesn't deliver to PO-Boxes :( Mac, could you see if my guy will offer up his real address? If not, there will be a delay while I reroute things. Fing Amazon, Edit: Aw heck, you'd have to be blind not to figure if out. Wileecoyote, just let me know, dude.

I have the Samsung. It's fine for what I use it for but pretty locked down wrt upgrade-ability.
-
I am 1/2way through my first build but I can already see I'm going to find space for at least 3. I'm not sure I'll ever buy a complete one, just going to keep my eye out for the bargains.

Anyone with two brain cells to rub together should complain after watching CSI.

I done fixed it. Kinda. So I think I now have it upside down so the bolt stands either half a thread proud or half a thread sunken. Unfortunately I put it all back together before I realized I could turn the button up the other way. I left it half a thread sunken and that's the way it'll stay until I have reason to tear things down again (I see no way it would affect function). I am seeing some interesting mag release button options from googling around though. At least it's not a roll-pin on the bolt button thing. I'm liking this design more and more. Think I'll see if it could be a mod for any lower I have in future. Edit: Oh hey lookit that, you can swing the mag release over even with the bolt button in place. All good now. Picked up some 5.56 at WM in case I get chance to finish the build before the weekend. Unfortunately they were out of the $70 boxes of 150 and only had 20s and the $460 metal can. A little rich for my blood just yet.

I was leaning that way but the circles fitted together so well. At least it should be an easy fix :)

Boehner is a train wreck, especially with budgets
tnguy replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I don't think so. It's just a bargaining chip they were willing to give up in order to get increased spending overall. They are experts at such maneuvers. -
I think I may have my mag-release button back-to-front. I figured the circles were for the spring to seat into.
-
I would be surprised if there wasn't to be honest. It's not an interference fit.
-
If you turn it to the right, the bullets come out faster. Slower to the left.

Yep, that is exactly how we got here. Compromise between the way things are and the way they want them to be. When do we get to cut costs and move in the direction of liberty? That's the kind of compromise I want to see.
