Cool. I forgot about contracting.

+1. A little respect and things last a long time. You don't have to baby something to treat it right.

I suspect most don't have any. Though I have to say that even if I ever do, I won't (IYKWIM). It's a pricey item for something that might never be needed and certainly would not be needed for everyday use (for SHTF occasions, that's the equivalent of several months worth of provisions). With that said, I certainly am not trying to put down those who do have it. I would be interested to hear out of those who do have it, how many are previously military (again, not to put anyone down, just curious as to how that plays into things).

NK is a more likely adversary at this time. However, I don't believe that NK actually has anything like the military capacity do do anything useful. They have a lot of bodies they can put on the ground but they can't even keep the lights on. There was some analysis revealed a while back that many/most of the missiles in their parades are just props. Believe it people, unfettered capitalism leads to strong, capable economies. That is why what BHO is up to at the moment is so scary. That glowing white splotch at the top of NK? That's where all your smartphone screens and hard-drives are coming from. Screw socialism.

Watched the new one last night, saw the first one a few years ago for the first time. First was definitely better.

Still not sure what to do with the upper yet. I'm tempted to order the PSA rifle kit just to have something to work with then worry what to do with the CMT upper later. I'm planning on doing an 80% lower build sometime so it would work out eventually. I think I'm going to end up with 5 ARs by the end of this :/

We're waiting for Christmas, right? My wife was pestering me to open mine earlier.

The sooner they find a cure for Alzheimers the better. It's one of the few things that scare the #### out of me. It's also taken away one of my favorite authors recently.

Thats the thing tho, historically, the left has meant more liberty and freedom. The Marxist progressives have done a fantastic job of infiltrating the "left". It's like being in Alice's wonderland these days.

I don't want to seem like I'm anti-gay marriage (I'd rather government just keep their noses out of marriage entirely and people can do what they choose) but I wouldn't blame the baker for turning 100% of the gross invoice for that cake over to an anti-gay marriage organization. Of course, now that they have got their way, they're not actually going to spend their money there anyway, I'm sure. Ironically, their lawsuit actually damages the thing they think it promotes. That is, freedom to associate with who we choose to and how. Just as a thought, I wonder if they fail to place an order whether the baker could counter-sue.

Just a comment but for future reference, this would probably have done better as one thread rather than the three or four it's gone through. It's made it tricky to keep track (for me at least).

Mark, I ask the same question from time to time. However, when I tried to look into it a little more, I came to the conclusion that the whole left-wing/right-wing thing is a mess with definitions and factors shifting all over the place. The truth as best as I can see it is that by the standards that made the Nazis right wing, both and neither of the Republican and Democrat parties are right-wing currently. The left (incorrectly used term) I mean liberals (oops, another incorrectly used term) I mean socialists (oops, that ones on us) I mean progressives (ugh). OK, the STATISTS tend to like to control language so they use the term "right wing" as it suits them, mostly as a trick to link the conservative/Republican side of things to the Nazis but many of the parts of the definition are owned by their side now. If you dig a little deeper, quite a lot of interesting stuff shows up. Like historical union opposition to black workers, women workers and immigration. Unions have traditionally been quite nationalistic (The BNP in the UK has strong roots in the working class who tend to suffer most from unchecked immigration) and socialistic yet are regarded as being left-wing currently. It's a shell game and we're being played by creative use of the language. You have to look under the covers and see which gears are turning. It's pretty much all red-team/blue-team now anyway.

And how far it's fallen in the last 48 hours. It's a ride for sure :) (Still above the April all-time-high though)

I'd think a smart dealer would sell within the letter of the law. I'm just not sure what that would be.

I didn't know if she would be able to pick it up seeing as how what's mine is hers and hers is hers. With her doing the background check, of course. It brings up an interesting question of what would happen if the background check failed. I guess restocking fees or something. That should not be an issue. It's a moot point now anyway, I should be able to get out by mid-week if I don't get antsy and go tomorrow.

Congress Warned of Potential for Citizen Revolt

Oops. Should read everything written before replying. -
Don't know when I can next get out that way. Any idea what the deal is on having my wife pick it up? Could I just give her the invoice?
-
Received mine yesterday. *almost* opened it. It's going under the tree as soon as the tree's up.

I need to get into this racket. Anyone want to join me in creating a "Turn in your guns" company? We could offer $10 itunes gift cards in exchange or something.
-
Heh, no. Though I do always have to work out if I'm on a non-immigrant visa or not if I haven't done it for a while.
-
Ug. Got within three ft of mine but defeated by a documentation SNAFU. Hopefully I'll be able to head out there tomorrow before the weekend.

They should also engrave the year and then we could have a group buy every year and collect the set :D

Sounds like you have a great thing going on. I really would recommend you keep it that way and listen to gregintn. I have seen what financial dealings within a family can do. Heck, listen to Dave Ramsey for a show or two and you can hear it for yourself. These are not people who are at each others throats who enter into these things but they are when they exit. There is no downside to keeping things separate and a whole lot of risk to not. It's up to you but consider yourself advised :)
