I think you are correct TGGG. The couple next to me I would say are just a tad older then Millineums but not by much but they don't act like them from what little I have spoke with them. I know they are believers in GOD as it said GOD Bless hand written on the envelope. As far as the news goes I don't pay any attention to what they say about people at all. They are not capable of judging people.......JMHO

Sometimes things happen and a couple did on Christmas for me this year. To begin with my land lord showed up at my home on Christams Eve to wish me a Merry Christmas and handed me an envelope with a card. I thanked him and wished him a Merry Christmas and we shook hands and I bid him a safe trip home. I had some new neighbors move in on the other side of my place. A young couple, He is the one with that big Camper he is trying to sell for a friend. Well, I noticed that has was making a few trips with a pickup truck to move their things from their old place and his wife was trying to help him move some of the furniture in and I had a few friends stop by about that time and I asked them to help them so they jumped right in and helped the young man unload the trailer he had behind the pick up and his pickup. I ask him if that was all he had or was there more to go get and he said nope, this is it. He reached in his pocket for his wallet to offer to pay and we all said no and glad to help and as we were leaving I heard his young wife say she would try and get supper made if she could find cook vessels. I had just finished up a 3 Quart Crock Pot of Homemade Vegetable Beef Soup and a pan of Corn Bread so I put about 1/2 of the soup in a tupperware container and wrapped up about 6 pieces of corn bread and I also took spoons and bowls. I walked it over to their door and knocked and they came to the door and I said it's still hot so enjoy. He took it and I said hope you like it and I turned and left. They both work so have not got to actually visit much but we wave when we see each other outside. So yesterday he came over and knocked and I opened the door and it was my neighbor and he handed me a card in an envelope and wished me a Merry Christmas and we shook hands and I told him Merry Christmas in return and we shook hands again and he left. Ok so I opened the card from my landlord and in the card was a $20.00 and in the card from my neighbor was a $10.00 bill. I was not expecting anything from anyone except family. This has shown me one thing there are still people who actually do understand the spirit of what Christmas is and giving. I just wanted to share this experience with folks here because this is something that I would have maybe expected from folks here because folks here are caring about folks but have never had a landlord give me a gift and was surely not expecting my neighbor to do what they did.......................

Since I am not an old gun person I have often thought about 1 thing that has always concerned me. You said the gun is dated back to 1926=27. And I think you mentioned taking it out. I am assuming that to mean to shoot. With the age of that gun. Do you feel safe about shooting it with the modern ammo made today verses the ammo made back in that guns time period. I know that I passed down two Rabbit Ear double barrel shot guns back several years ago to my son and I told him not to ever shoot them because they both had the damascus twist barrels and I ahd read some where that the barrels would not withstand shooting modern 12 gauge shells in them. Not even the lowest brass trap loads. So I am wondering if pistols from back then might have the same issues with modern ammo..............Just curious about it............

How much to check out a revolver?
bersaguy replied to Cap'n Video's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Sam Hoster is about as good as it gets when it comes to gun smiths. He does all my work and is reasonable in his pricing. You will like doing business with him.......JMHO -
Not me!!!! I seldom allow Glocks in my house unless a TGOer comes by for a visit and happends to have one on their hip. Then it is welcome..............

I heard on the news last night that there was another 2.2 quake near Johnson City last yesterday. Did any one feel it. No one mentioned it on here. Just wondering if it was true or fake news???

Could not have expressed feelings any better!!!! This is the only gun site I am on any longer and the only other site I spend time on is a fishing site I am a founding member of since 2008. Have many friends there also but it is a lot smaller than TGO but the people are also 1st class. Merry Christmas to all and a very Properous New Year to all................

Really!!! It took a few geese to put a passenger jet in the Potomac a few years back. Another time a flock of black birds took one down but was able to land safely with 2 or the four engines functioning. Let a Boeing 747 suck a 4 prop toy into one of it's engines and see what damages it can do and if the plane does not crash it wil have to land quickly. Won't need no C-4 just turbine destroyed.

I don't think I will ever understand why men are so stupid as to do something like this. If I was in a rocky marriage and my wife came to me and told me she was divorcing me I would throw her a going away party and tell her asta-lavesta-Baby and celebrate her leaving. I would not want to be with any woman that did not want to be with me and I damn sure would never hurt my children............

I think it is really kind of stupid flying drones near airports to begin with. Takes a real lowlife to not take the lives of hundreds of people as important knowing his toy could take down a Jumbo Jet kiling everyone on board. There is plenty of air space not near major airports to play with these toys. I think anyone caught flying one in commercial air space should face some very serious jail time and some hefty fines and yes, the loss of his toy............JMHO

You are 100% dead on here Dave. I keep most of my firearms in a locked safe. The only ones I have out are the couple I use for home protection. All of my friends and family know they are to call before stopping by and at that point I secure the house guns as well cause sometimes they have the grandkids along or a friend that I may or may not know. There is zero access to any of my firearms while they are here. I trust all of my family but kids don't know better at ages in the pre- teen ages and I don't trust any of the friends they might have with them even if I know them. No one knows anyone out side of family that good............JMHO -
Glad to hear ya'll got together and had a good breakfast and meet and greet. It's alway nice to get to meet members of TGO. I have enjoyed everyone I have ever met from the site................

I agree on the family member issue. I don't have that issue as I get along with everyone in my family and I don't think Darby will be calling the police on me and she is the only other resident in my house. I get along well with all my neighbors and we all help each other out when anyone is in need. Plus they are all gun owners both most of my family and all of my neighbors......JMHO -

Yea, it is going to happen for sure. I guess it just depends on how the Law is written as to how much it will effect the 2nd Amendment rights of the people and will the people file lawsuits or will they accept the laws as written. GOA is going to or already filed law suits against it and I have become a member of GOA and will have to give a lot of thought about remaining a NRA member since they don't seem to care about peoples rights any longer..........JMHO -

Ok, I will give you that. You are also correct about the Gun Free Zones I also feel that is a real issue that requires attention. I have said many times that gun free zones are nothing more then killing fields and open season for a person that plans on killing a bunch of people with little to no fear of being stopped until authorities show up to stop them and in many cases recently the police have show reluctance to enter the building while the shooting it still taking place. One brave man did so and was killed but he died doing his best to save lives and for that I give him my utmost respect. -

Has anyone else noticed that in many of the mass shootings many if not most of them take place in States that have the strictest gun laws in the country? That in itself show prove that laws reagrdless of what state they are in don't stop the criminal element from getting guns and killing people. We don't need new and more laws. We just need the ones on the books enforced and that is not happening. Also Law Enforcement at the Higher Levels has in many cases dropped the ball by having people on a watch list or even having the shooter in custody and releasing them and then making excuses after they go out and shoot up a crowd of innocent people. The FBI, ATF, DHS and many other top law enforcement agencies keep telling the public, if you see something or you hear something SPEAK UP!! That has been done a couple times and was not acted upon till after the fact and people are dead. So until they begin acting on the laws that are on the books already quit trying to jam more laws down the throats of the American people.................JMHO -

I saw a spike Albino back many years ago on our farm when I first moved down here in 67. I use to see them all the time up in Illinois while growing up hunting small game. Back when I was a kid Illinois didn't have a deer season and there were a lot of white deer on Government land surrounding the Argonne National Labratory. My buddy and I would hunt Rabbits and Pheasants on the property and see the deer. -
