I cut cable a year ago because their pricing was getting crazy and I just bought two antennas as a temporary plan till I figured out what I wanted. When I programmed the TV's to the antennas I found I got all the local channels along with about 35 other channels and so far I have been not missed cable at all but have saved a bunch of money and just watching what the antennas provided. I will look into some of the other stuff soon just to see what they offer. The only things I really miss on cable is the Discovery channel, the History Channel, and Biography channel. Does any of the programs mentioned above offer any of those?

I have a problem with Darby I cannot figure out. We went to bed at normal time and had our nightly routine of night snacks and TV and when she finished her milk she went and laid down on there bed for the night. I watched a little more TV as normal, turned of the TV, lights and said a normal good night Darby as always. I woke up about 3 am with heart burn from Pizza earlier so went in to the kitchen still half asleep to get some cold water and found Darby sleeping on the hard floor infront of the dish washer. She got up when I entered the kitchen and went and layed on her big bed in the living room which is where she was at when I woke up to get up and start our day. She wanted out as normal and went out as I got her breakfast made and I let her in and that was when I began to see the change in her. She didn't eat and she would not lay down and wanted to be very close to me. After I ate breakfast and had a cup of coffee I took her out for the morning walk and instead of her going and sniffing everything she stayed pretty much close to me. She did business and we played sticks with is fetch with a few sticks we play with. Then we walked more and I got to cold to remain out side so we came back to the house but she refused to come in the house. I spent 20 minutes trying to coax her back into the house. Finally I ask her about going by bye in the Jeep and she ran to the jeep and that is where she is right now. Laying down in the back seat. She has never acted like thsi before but she acts like she is scared to death of the house. Has anyone ever gone through this with their dogs. If so please chime in cause I am baffled on what to do. I will be taking her for a ride in a little wile and see if that helps. I can tell by her breathing that she is stressed out.

The Official Range Photo Thread (Prove That You Shoot)

At that range I would be lucky to see the target period these days with iron sights. I think you did well..........JMHO -
I use to have a friend that wod go walking through the woods after deer season looking for racks and he had a dog that could sniff them out from a long ways off. He made knives with them. I would get him a few from road kills as I had a saw in my truck just for that. He moved away several years ago so I don't get them any longer.

Back when my wife was alive she lived ate and slept Orange. Our house looked like a concession stand at UT football game year around. We never missed watching a UT game. Funny part is I have always been a Notre Dame Fan and she knew it and every time my team lost a game she picked on me. But if Tennessee lost I was not allowed to say anything if I wanted to eat a nice supper. Other wise I had left overs if there was any. I learned to just bite my tongue when UT lost. I still have all of the UT stuff she had hung around the house in a box in my closet.

My feelings about crowds is just like yours. I avoid them at all costs and between now and Christmas I will be staying away from any crowds. Back years ago when I did my Christmas shopping after my wife passed away consisted of a 30 minute to Walmart about 11PM at the Customer service counter buying Gift cards. I quite doing that after all my children and grand children got grown. Then when Logan came along I would go and get him a card when he was little and his parents would get him something from Grandpaw Santa. When he out grew Santa I began sending him a Money Order and he could cash it and buy what he wanted. Since he is getting his old Deer rifle this year from Santa, I will send him and Academy Gift card so he can buy maybe a gun case or some ammo.

I had to laugh when you said "Getting old really is fun"! I find getting old a lot of things and fun is just (1) of them! Some of mine are not so colorful so I won't say because I like being a member here..................

Thanks and I would have been proud anytime I bagged one that big. He's in for even a bigger surprise when Santa Claus come by his house this year. his father and oldest brother are going in together and get him his own first rifle. He has been using Mine, Dads and big brothers since he began hunting but after Christmas he will be using his own................

I just got off the phone with Logan and is still pumped about it because he said this one is for Grandpaw so I will have deer meat in the freezer pretty soon. It is a really big deer and an 8 point is something to be proud of but he has 2 twelves and a 14 on the wall so don't know if this one will get mounted yet. Probably not. My son seldom puts anything under 10 up unless it is a non-typical rack. The 14 was Logans 1st deer when he was either 8 or 9 and I need to make a correction to original post. Logan is 12 years old. Had a birthday slip past me.

Well my son finally figured out how to send pictures from his phone and my 11 year old Grandson Logan bagged this nice 8 pointer yesterday morning about 8:30.

Thanks Greg and I try to be. Yea He was not telling the whole truth but I sent it back and got my refund and told them how I felt about their not being totally honest up front. As far as anyone depending on my income that would be Darby and she will be cared for very well if anything happens to me. I have 3 different friends and two family members that have already told me they will take her and care for her and they are all dog lovers. She has been around all of them and it won't be like she would be going to strangers. Every time they come to visit or we go visit them they mess with her and she loves the attention. -
Some good eating right there and has a nicely formed rack.

Thanks for the idea Omega but I took care of what I was trying to do. I checked into a cremation policy because I am planning on being cremated and buried on top of my Oldest sons grave. I found a great plan at a great price from a very reputable Funeral home in Nashville. Phillips-Robinson had a plan that covers the entire needs for $2900.00 dollars and you can make payments with just a down payment and they finance the rest interest free and if you pass away prior to pay off they have an insurance plan in the policy that pays the policy off with no charge to your family. I had been saving money little here and there to pay down and was fortunate enough to be able to pay mine in full within 3 months so I am good to go. Got all the policies necessay to take care of it when the time comes locked in my safe and select family members have combination to safe. P&R were great people to work with and went out of their way to make sure I had what I wanted. -

I looked into a couple of those Term Life policies like that one Alex Trebek advertises that you buy in units and they are all almost identical regardless which company to look at. I even signed up for it and bought a 5 unit package for $53.00 a month. I was looking for something that would cover my burial expenses so family was not burdened with it. It looked good till I got the policy and in the fine print it explained that for the 1st two years the only thing the policy would pay was to refund everything the policy holder had paid in. They don't mention that when your talking to the rep on the phone about it. So if you think your covered from the first day the policy is put in effect , your not. So if say 6 months in your killed in an accident they don't pay the $5000.00 for the coverage. They send the family $354.00. I called them and told them I wanted to cancel and told them why in a not so nice way. It took me almost 2 months to get my refund. So make sure you read fine print on any policy you might buy. -
You have hit a nail directly on the head Dave. Again all the signs were there that this person should have been arrested for actions previous to this one. Authorities failed to act on any of the warning signs and once again guns will be blamed and not the failure by the authorities to do their job. Maybe one day authorities will quit ignoring warnings like these and act on them. When he threatened to shoot up the Chicago Fire Academy they should have arrested him right then. It's strange how the states with the toughest laws are the ones that fail the most to enforce them!!!!
