DOJ rules that bump stocks ARE machineguns
bersaguy replied to Chucktshoes's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Hollywood plays a big roll in favor of the anti-gun people when it comes to dumming down the low knowledge general public about guns. They see something on TV and they think the average gun owner has 10 of them in their bedroom closet. They don't have a clue that Tommy Guns have been outlawed since 1934 to civilians. They have no clue the Firearms Owners Protection Act of 1986 ended all civilians being able to purchase full auto's of any type. Only in Hollywood folks!!!! I think I am right on this. If not please correct me.!!!!! -
MPD Director wants to roll back guns in cars
bersaguy replied to Capbyrd's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
The problem is I have heard about many guns being taken from cars that aren't even locked or alarms being set. I will defend someone that leaves their gun out of sight in a locked car with the alarm set, but no excuse for an unlocked car........JMHO -

When I get in my car my gun gets in my car. When I get out of my car my gun gets out with me. If you don't have a carry permit buy a gun safe for the car and when you get out of the car anyplace but at home lock gun in safe. When you come home gun goes in house. Not to much to ask I don't think. -
I am not an insomniac per say but for about 3 months now I have began laying awake at night and after getting relaxed after the days activities I wil begin to lay and think about things in my childhood that was part of my life growing up. At first it was jst short thoughts bouncing all over the place. Then I began learning to focus on events going as far back as I could remember and trying to put them in some kind of order according to time in my life. I try to put them in the order and year in which the memory took place. I know it sounds crazy but I have been able to remember things in my life that were more or less not important things but they would fit into place like a jigsaw puzzle. In the beginning it was just things like my first dog when I was either 6 or 7 years old and he was a dog someone had dropped off which a lot of people would come out of the city and do. My dad told me I could keep him and he went everywhere with me except school. He was a terrier mix I gave him the name Bearcat and he was very fast and could keep up with me on my bike. He lived a long life as we brought him to Tennessee and he lived about 2 more years down here. It is amazing what you can remember when you just lay down and clear your mind from that days activities and then begin to think back. You can remember the most trivial items that you would never think of otherwise. I think last night I reached age 10.

I am sure glad my parents moved me from that city before it became the sewer hole it is today. Yea it had a few bad areas folks knew to stay out of back when I lived up there but it was a Kindergarden Class compared to what it is today. I use to date a girl that lived in Blue Island in south Chicago and that was only about 25 blocks from where that hospital shooting took place yesterday. Her mother and fathers were doctors so you know it was an upperclass neighborhood back then. Today i'ts a ghetto controlled by 2 or 3 different gangs. I don't know if there is anything that can be done to help that city now. A new Mayor and Police Commissioner(Maybe an ex Seal) that will hire about 500 more police officers and then un-tie the hands of the ones now working and tell them to do what it takes to get the city back would be the only option I see...............JMHO

In 4 years your gonna be lucky if there is any land plots or a house with that kind of land available anywhere near Dale Hollow Lake. It is like Tennessee has become a big magnet and a whole lot of people want to live here now and are coming from many other places. If Nashville keeps growing as fast as it is All of Davidson County will be skyscrapers and people will be living in condo apartments in the buildings they work in..................JMHO

I use to have a guy that lived down the road from me that had five of the old chargers in a field behind his house and when they were looking for more parts cars they paid him some big bucks for the five he had and sent a crew out to pick them up.

I had to laugh when you mentioned the 460 lifting the front tires just before breaking a rear axle or driveshaft. The drive train had so much torque that I saw a couple of them actually pull the Pinion gear out through the front of the differential housing. They were notorous for that only because they would not put the 9 inch hog head rear diffrentials in the Mustangs and traction ladders to stablize the rear end and stop the wheel hop they had. All the Mustangs had wheel hop with a v-8 engine in the early years and it took Carroll Shelby to show them how to correct the problem when he built the first fast back Shelby Cobra with the 429 CID engines in them. A kid in my home town had his dad buy him one of the first Shelby's and it was so fast the kid was afraid of it and I don't think he ever really opened it up to see what it was capable of. I moved south so never did find out what he did with it.............LOL

I wouldn't enter the woods going to and from my stand and any moving I might do back when we owned the farm and was still wearing it when I retired from hunting. My son and grandsons all wear the orange when they are hunting my sons property since until this year he had poachers. The poachers are gone but they still all wear the orange when they go in the woods. If I was a farmer these days I would do like Chris and put my dogs in orange and if I had cattle or horses I would have a big orange X painted on both sides of them. I have not had any friends get their dogs shot but have had a few get horses and cows shot over the years. Better to be safe than sorry...............

I love the old car chase movies. Bullet was good, Dirty Harry Crazy Mary was a great movie, Vanishing Point was another good one, and then can't forget the Blues Brothers even though it was funny, it had some great car chases. Some of the newer movies with Vin Diesel and that Black Charger were good also. Love that wheel stand he did in one of them. Dodge Chargers have been used in quit a few old Hollywood car chase movies. And then there was the the miracle Charger in Dukes of Hazard. I read that they had to have 5 old Chargers and hundreds of spare parts for them to keep making the program. At one point they were advertising for any old junk Dodge chargers people wanted to sell they would buy them. They said they had 1 good one for the car chases on the roads and rebuilds that they had repaired after they made those jumps because in most cases the entire front suspension had to be rebuilt and fenders and hoods straightened so they could use them again.

If it does not rain out there pretty soon there won't be any California left except a big pile of ashes. I do feel bad about all the people that are missing from the fires and the many homes, businesses and even small towns that are being lost in the flames. I don't think Trump can throw enough money into the state to stop the fires.

Let me start off by saying congradulations on the new addition to your family!! I know this might not fall in the catagory your looking for but let me say this. When I was brought here to Tennessee from Illinois at age 16 to live on my Grandfathers Farm/Ranch I didn't own a deer rifle but had been hunting small game since age 10 so was not unfamilar with hunting. My Grandfather ask me one day if I had a deer rifle and I said no sir. He didn't say anything but just turned and walked away. About 10 minute later he came back and handed me a Winchester model 94 and said every boy should have a deer rifle in Tennessee. I went the next day and bought two boxes of ammo and went out in a cut down corn field and put up some targets. A buddy of mine that lived down the road from me went along. Well, needless to say the recoil was about like a 12 guage 3 inch Mag round which I was not really expecting and it hit my shoulder fairly hard. My buddy Wayne told me I needed to make sure I had it tucked into my shoulder better. We had put the targets out about 60 yards and my grandfather had told me to put the target on top of my front sight when I went to practice. Well, was shooting at 8 inch pie pans placed on a couple bales of hay stood on end. Out of a box of 20 rounds I had 12 hits for sure but a couple looked like I may have put a second round through a previous hole. That deer season I managed two deer hunting with Wayne and his brother Tom. Over the years I killed a lot of deer with that old 30/30. I still own it and It will be my Sons someday. He did grow up using it to hunt with and killed his first several deer with it. He began hunting deer at age 11 and he used the gun to bag I think he said 14 deer before he went to a 30-06 Winchester Bolt gun but the gun was passed down to his oldest son when he began hunting and he killed 16 deer with it before he stepped up to a 308 Savage model 110 bolt gun & scope. My Son and daughter in law thought there would be no more children but sometimes things happen. A new addition showed up after his older brothers were 18 & 16. His name is Logan. Well when he was 10 years old his oldest brother began taking him small gamehunting to see how he would react. Needless to say the 30/30 had one more hunter left in her and at age 12 Logan bagged his first buck on a juvenile hunt with the 30/30. He is now 15 and has began looking for more range and has been shootng his fathers 30-06 but wants a 243 so that will be coming from Santa Claus this year. I know you weren't expecting a book report but it all really goes back to a family heir loom hand me down issues. That gun was bought new by my Grandfather back when he was a young man and since then it has been a deerslayer through 6 different family members. It remains in my oldest grandsons gun safe waiting for the next generation. There has been another 30/30 Marlin added to the batch of deer rifles in the family only because someone wanted one with a scope. Good luck with what you deside for your future deer hunter. If it is a hand me down from his father it will mean that much more over the years.

Of course any Sheriffs in any state that goes against the anti gun politicians won't get the press they deserve for defending the Constittion and 2nd Amendment. The people that elected their Sheriffs need to be commended for picking a man/woman that will uphold the oath they took to stand by and support the Constitution. It tells the anit-gun politicians that the citizens of America has a Constitution that was written for the people by the Founding Fathers and not for the politicians to tread on like it does not exist. We need a lot more Sheriffs and and maybe some Governors should start speaking up and saying NOT IN MY STATE!! Maybe inventual those gun grabbers in DC will get the message that the Constitution is the LAW of THE LAND and not them and their big money people............JMHO
