  1. Sorry to hear about your neighbor and what happen to him. It is about 50 yards to my mailbox from the house but for the last couple years there has been a gang of punks riding the streets looking for vulnerable people cutting grass, raking leaves or other odd jobs out side and they have been robbed at knifepoint. No one has seen a gun yet, always a knife or two. They beat up one guy for calling them punks and robbed him. They have a couple different vehicles they cruise around it so you have to be on your toes. I thought at one point they were going to try me because we have 3 driveways coming in to the triplex and they pulled in 1 driveway over and doors came open and I turned and squared on them with hand on Bersa under windbreaker in holster and all at once horn blew they stopped, got back in the Old Olds Cutless and drove away where I could not get a tag number. It was sure gonna get messy if they had brought knives to a gun fight. I look for them to come back in the Spring as they have the last 3 years. I'm also waiting for them to step up to guns from Knives.......JMHO
  2. Glad your friend liked the Bersa and it fit his needs. I don't walk to my mailbox out at the road without my Thunder!!!!
  3. Well, I'm a Bersa guy but this could be something I might could grow to like with a few boxes down range through it.............
  4. Well, considering I am pretty limited to hand guns and all of them are Bersa's I'm guessing my everyday carry is mostly my Model 85 w/14+1 magazine. It is slightly bulkier than the Bersa Thunder 7+1 magazine but since these days when I do go out I am normally dressed in loose confortable clothing which does a great job of keeping the 85 out of sight unless needed. I also have another 14 round mag in cell phone case on belt clip. I carry it 90% of the time but will pack a Thunder w/2 back up mags for quick trips to drive up windows to pick up stuff..................
  5. I don't know why but I kind of thought Turkeys were just a littke bit smarter than those birds acted but that I have never actually hunted turkeys but have killed a few during the season while hunting other game................
  6. I thought there was more to the shooting than was being announced and I'm not believing the dropped back pack story quite yet.
  7. Before my mother passed I took her out every Sunday for dinner and every Sunday we went to a Truck Stop up on I- 65 at Bethal Road. I asked he one time why she always wanted to eat at the Truck Stop and her reply was the food and the atmosphere. She did have a point. The folks were always friendly and the food was always good and it was never to crowded and there were no signs............
  8. Ok , Thanks
  9. Game Wardens in certain cases have more jurisdiction than local law enforcement. If they have probably cause that you have poached a deer or other wild game and it is in your house they don't need warrant to search your home and property. In many states the Game Wardens are the law in the woods and on the waters and local law enforcement is their back up. As far as the woman getting upset she was probably looking for a free meal and her 5 minutes of fame which she probably go both. I quit going to to Outback years ago and have never been in a Panera Bread and have 1 two blocks from my house. Someone mentioned they wish that all the law abiding 2nd Amendment people would just quit going to the posted locations 1 of 2 things would happen. The companies would go bankrupt or the signs would come down. I don't see it happening but sure would be nice just to watch the big companies squirm a little.........JMHO
  10. What happen to the 15 year old boy with the head injury from it that was in serious condition???? Was this some politicians daughter or what???????? Sure sounds like a cover up to me..........JMHO
  11. Simple solution to this is don't go into the store in the first place and try to spend money in a business that really does not want what is in your best interest in the first place and you won't have any issues.............JMHO
  12. Sounds to me like they are trying to make excuses as to why she brought the gun to school and her saying I'm sorry for shooting you. I have not heard any hard charges being brought yet. If that was a young boy he would be booked and have a list of chrages longer than his arm and still finding more to charge him with. I bet the Governor is already to sign a pardon for her!!.................
  13. Well I'm sorry if I have offended anyone with my views about the signs. I don't really know why I even brought it up because I never go in a store that has them up. I think what sparked me was the fact that recently I have noticed it is getting harder and harder to see the signs becuase it seems like some stores are using very small signs and putting them up in the corners of the windows of they are becoming mixed in with other flyers and notices on the door glass and can be missed if you don't actually dedicate time to strickly looking for them...........JMHO
  14. I would never shoot the messenger. I just would not do business with them if their business was posted. It just seems that you and others are willing to support the posting of businesses that are against the 2nd Amendment and I am not. Just a difference of opinions is all!
  15. Well, I'm done with the sign argument. I am sure if your both own businesses you would probably have them posted and I would not be doing business with either one of you...........JMHO
  16. Why, his sign did not prevent the bad guy from coming in but deprieved me of my right to defend myself. That sign can bite the owners in the butt also. I have a cousin that is a criminal defense attorney and he said those signs can play very important rolls in any case where innocent people are injured that other wise could have defended themselves.
  17. I wonder if those same lawyers are telling their business owners that they are also responsibile for your safety while your in that place of business also. If I am in a place of business during a robbery or astranged husband trying to kill wifes boyfriend and I'm hurt in any way because of no fault of my own you can bet I'm gonna sue long deep and indefinately because I was not able to defend myself when I should have been!!!!!!
  18. In all honesty I have said this before and I will say it again. I don't think all of these no gun signs are truly the ideas of the business owner. I think probably most of the are from ANTI-2ND Amendment groups that go around to the different businesses and fill the owners head full of ideas and they put the signs up for the business owner. You can bet they don't inform the business owner of the down side to the signs which is lost revenue by the people that would trade in his store that go armed every day and don't shoot anyone. I am only one person and yes I do go armed when I go out and last year I kept a sort of tally of how many times I walked away from a posted location and went to a non posted location to make a purchase. Sometimes sizable some times nickle and dime stuff but it all adds up and as best I can tell last year I walked away from 371 businesses that were posted when I arrived and I spent about $2,135.00 at unposted locations. Now I realize I am only one person that does not get out a lot or spend a great deal of money but what about the folks that do. How much are the bottom lines of posted stores being effected by the signs????? Maybe someone needs to tell them and see if they still feel the signs are worth the lost revenue!!!!
  19. Good point Omega, and they should have to renew them and pay for that also just as we do. Whats fair for the goose is fair for the gander.............JMHO
  20. It could have been classified as a Punishment assignment also. She is not exactly Bo Derek or Cindy Crawford..............jmho
  21. I agree with you 110% Omega. I have seen small 4 inch signs located on the lower corner of an entrance glass to a business and would have missed it if someone would have blocked it while coming out of the store. I think if the business is going to post their business it should be a sign 20 inch by 20 inch placed at eye level on every door entering the business and should be required to be made in Florescent Green or Florescent orange and totally visable. I also think the state should be required to sell the signs and the businesses should have to buy them from the state. That way there is no mistaking which ones are legal and which ones are not................JMHO
  22. I don't know about any one else but this is a "No Brainer" to me. If you approach a place of business and they have any kind of gun ban sign up what so ever, just turn around and walk away. Go to another location that does not hvae Gun Banned signs up and do business. How hard is that to understand??????..................JMHO
  23. Congrads on one of the wonderful gifts from God. I have a feeling he will have a shooting iron long before he is ready to be popping caps...............
  24. Well neither of these doctors treat at the local hospital so I can't call a bus to pick me up. I live 45 miles from Hospital they work in. Sumer does not offer cardiac surgery, only cardiac rehab so that is where I was sent. Won't say the rehab I got was top notched but then I out performed anything they put at me. Had this been my first Rodeo it might have been ok but this is my 10th Rodeo and the first one I got sent to rehab for so I was ahead of the rehab program even before I left the hospital. I guess that is why after the evaluation from Home Health Agency that came by yesterday and she decided I was far enough advanced that I didn't need home health services.
