  1. I wouldn't have a problem with the former. The latter would give me pause.
  2. Probably! :(
  3. You didn't use that on mine, did you?
  4. I just smile and wave, but I don't use all of my fingers. :x:
  5. Many women will repress the memories of the abuse and therefore are not "aware" of it having happened to them. Unfortunately, the memories will re-surface later in life around their mid-thirties. My wife was abused by her paternal grandfather which she did not repress, but she will never tell her father out of fear of hurting him. Her grandfather died before I met her, so there's really no good that can come out of telling her father. I did convince her to tell her mother.   There are many reasons females keep quiet is the main point. My oldest daughter, for instance, was raped at a sleep-over when she was eleven years old. This happened while I was a police officer on-duty and in the town that I policed. She didn't tell me until many years later because she was afraid that I would have killed the 15-year old boy had I known, and that I would have gone to prison causing her to lose a father in the process. This is silly, because I surely wouldn't have been caught.
  6. There is a lot of psychology involved in these cases that make females do some things even years later that would not make sense to us men. I know this because my mother counseled victims of child abuse for a living.
  7. Personally, I wonder why they just didn't charge him with disorderly conduct?
  8. It wasn't that the contents were hot; it was that they were near boiling causing 2nd degree burns of her junk. I have been handed drinks by the employees of restaurants many times that didn't have the lid on properly. That caused a Route 44 to plop right into my lap. Fortunately, it was cold. I would have sued too if I was her.
  9. I am looking for land outside Murfreesboro in the Lascassas and Readyville area. I work in Nashville by the airport. How long does the average drive take you in the morning? Is the commute a bee-otch? Google Maps says 45 minutes to work, but wonder what it is at 6:00 in the morning?
  10. IMHO it doesn't matter. What you legally own is just that. Now if the weapon was used in a crime then you'd need to prove exactly when you purchased it to keep you tit out of the wringer. If you modified it then you'd have some s'plaining to do if you "accidentally" shot someone. People use to be concerned about reloads versus factory ammo, but I think that's moot in Tennessee unless something goes awry such as over-penetration into an innocent bystander.
  11. Smallest: 22LR. Biggest: 8" Howitzer which has no case.
  12. "You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink."
  13. Noon news says months to rebuild that half of the bridge after demolition - which is going to occur this weekend since crap is falling off of it.
  14. They did report that a witness THOUGHT that they saw someone walk away from the wreck. After seeing the cab I called BS. It looked like they could relatively easily replace half of the bridge. Fortunately for the family they could not tell (signage) who owned the truck because of the damage. They would have to look up the VIN.
  15. Welcome!   I am looking to move out of the suburbs and onto some acreage myself. The SE side of Murfreesboro seems to have the most reasonable price per acre because of the time it would take to commute to Nashville. The NW side to the West of Smyrna is nuts on prices because of easy access to I-24. The land tends to be narrow and deep everywhere that I've seen so far, so half that acreage makes for a fairly good distance. For instance, I just looked at 27 acres on Rocky Fork Road that's about 150-200 feet wide but goes way back. It was the only thing priced under $10,000 per acre. Another 5.27 acre lot a couple of miles further away from Nashville was $150,000, and the same size lot closer to Nashville was $219,000. :stunned:   Forum members have stated that Murfreesboro is going down hill. I don't live there, (I do shop there at The Avenue a lot), but news stories would indicate that it is going downhill: however, individual perceptions differ too.
  16. I'm surprised that the yankees had enough common sense to vote him back in.   I am VERY glad Bloomberg lost even though the money was just a drop in the bucket for him. How is it that idiots like him get this wealthy to begin with...luck? "Better to be lucky than good."
  17. Sometimes I think it'd be cool to have a button that blows up some A-hole's computer when he gets out of line, but then I consider what would happen if someone thought that I was the A-hole.
  18. I don't recall eating Ramen Noodles ever. It doesn't appear to me like I missed anything.
  19. It looks really sweet! I hate to think of the cost, and I know that I'm undisciplined enough to use it if I owned it.
  20. I have no idea who he is, so I guess I didn't miss much.
  21. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean that you are afraid of it.
  22. I like the fixed blade. It looks wicked!!
