  1. Wow, pretty impressive stuff.   And I thought my range sessions were a little expensive.
  2. "Shooter are you ready?" :squint: (me) - "front sight"  "front sight"  "front sight"   "Stand by"  BEEP!! :squint:   "Oooo targets!!!!" :dirty:   POW, POW, POW, POW, POW, POW, POW, POW, POW, POW . . . . . . . :ugh:   :ugh:    :censored:  "front sight"  "front sight"  :wall:
  3.   Even though I really dislike indoor square ranges, I can't wait till their range is open - really miss being able to drive 5 minutes down the road and shoot, hope they have a good annual membership rate.   60 yard range and force on force sounds great. Will have to go in soon and check them out.
  4. To go shoot USPSA, turned out to be one of the best I've shot in a while.
  5. Havent done it myself but read somewhere that filling medicine bottles or small stuff with flour is fun to watch explode.
  6.   Yep, this. I avoid walmart as much as possible - life is better without it.
  7. I would dare to bet he had a LOT more than just alcohol in his system. That looks like some combo of pills and alcohol to me.
  8. Hmm, forgetting my carry gun and buying a brand new gun, loading it up and trusting it for my carry gun - 2 things I hope to never do.   And how did you carry it? Did you have a holster or buy a new one?   But anyways, congrats on the new gun.
  9. Very nice, congrats. Think you got a pretty good deal.   I will be popping my AR cherry in the next month or two and plan on going with the exact same rifle.
  10. As long as you were not handling a weapon during a cold range or muzzle sweeping him.   More than once at ranges, I've inquired about someone's firearm out of curiosity to then have them muzzle sweep the crap out of me, once with a loaded gun.
  11.   Hmm, guess I was just a little off  . Maybe that was when they added the 678, anyways - been doing it for a long time now.
  12.     Not made by Glock, he doesn't.
  13. Having been from Atlanta, I remember having to use 10 digits since around '99-'00 - 770,404,678 - think they've got more now. I've been doing it ever since.   Really, almost since I started using a cell phone I've been dialing (ok storing) 10 digit phone numbers.   Just another sign - too many darn people!
  14. Ive heard others liking the Glock mag carriers. The biggest negative for me would be having to thread it through my belt for on-off.   I Haven't found a way to carry a spare on my hip without it printing fairly bad on me. Sure, just standing it isn't to noticeable - but one you stand bending and reaching ect, ect. - it becomes quite noticeable IMO, and it's very easy for my shirt to get caught up on or behind the mag.   I've just finally decided to use a desantis pocket holster for my spare mag. Conceals and carries with no prob, but does have the down side of not being the fastest and easiest access for mag changes.   Carry is all about compromises and trade offs though.
  15. Yep, what he said.   :usa:
  16. Man, that's when you know you've got weather problems - when an indoor match gets cancelled, LOL.   Totally understand though, hopefully I can make it next week.
  17. Curious if you think it'll still be on with the weather we got in the early A.M.?   Cabin fever and missing my last chance to shoot a match, going to try to make it tonight - indoors and climate controlled match sounds great.
  18. From what I've read on another forum, the 19 makes better since over the 17 because of weight savings, easier to carry with lots of other gear and some of those units actually use concealment and/or carry off duty/out of uniform. Plus it seems they've been using them awhile already had lots of 19's around and in inventory.
  19. Read the book last summer and didn't expect the movie to be nearly as well done. Saw it last night - just amazing - left speechless and had something in my eyes. God bless the Kyle family and all our service men and women.
  20. As much as I know it's gonna likely cause some hearing loss/damage - I have to agree, in that moment (adrenaline dump) - it is probably going to be an unnoticed event going on in your body.
  21. Shooting in 20 degree weather  =  :shake:
  22. Poll needs another option - don't care.   I don't care either way, except a rail on a 1911 is hideous.
  23. For a while now, I've made it a goal - anytime I see a man or woman in  military uniform, I go and tell them thank you for their service.   About 2 weeks ago, I was getting gas here in bellevue and an LEO was at the pump ahead of me. I told him thanks for his service and to be careful out there. I think I will make this part of my goal as well.   It is a tough, scary, thankless job. Thanks to the brave men and women who step up and take the challenge.
  24. Wow, I . . . . he  . . . .  . it . . . .why . . . . .         just, wow.
  25.   Really there is almost NO strength in a door frame. You need to use 3" screws to go deep enough to reach a stud in the wall (the framing of the house). I like to use a solid piece of metal for the door and deadbolt strike catch plate and use several 3" screws to anchor it. Something like these http://www.homedepot.com/b/Tools-Hardware-Hardware-Door-Knobs-Hardware-Door-Security-Door-Frame-Reinforcers/N-5yc1vZc6mu/Ntk-Extended/Ntt-door+strike+plate?Ntx=mode+matchpartialmax&NCNI-5   Reinforcing your exterior doors is a REALLY simple and cheap way to secure your home. If done right, someone will be at your door for hours trying to "kick it in".   Of course, picking or jimmying a lock is different - but a good deadbolt should be used on every exterior door and makes them a LOT more pick/jimmy proof.
