I don't hate them per se, but I will not purchase one until it's an electric golf cart or wheel chair that I would need to get around in. There just isn't enough of an upside to them, you never break even on one, you never get on the +side of being green considering the carbon footprint of charging them, and the metals needed to make those expensive batteries.

Lol, I am sure those on the x will laugh when they learn it was a prop plane that blew them to smithereens.

Some of the guys here have those large curved monitors, and they are ok, but I have been working with this setup for about three years and it works just fine for what I do. I am sure I will be "upgraded" soon enough but I can't see any real advantages between the two. The monitors are LG, and together span across my whole 4' desk.

for-sale Tanfoglio/Defiant stock master carry optics gun/setup

Just post on here that you're interested and if he is willing to deal with shipping to your FFL, for some sellers (and buyers) this is a deal breaker for the hassle and extra expense. The seller can probably PM you if he is interested in selling to you under those conditions. -
Scissors, yes, your patient may not not be still enough to use a knife to access the wound. Quikclot, again, yes, bandage, IMO, is better than powder because you will have to bandage anyway. Chest seals, again, yes, plastic works, I have done it, but most commercial ones have a "burp" valve which help prevent a pneumothorax (collapsed lung), we are issued these most times. vent on one side and none on the other (if exited). Mastisol or strips, I would say both, sometimes the strips will not stick due to blood, dust, humidity etc, And sometimes the wound just isn't clean enough to use the glue. I would add a suture needle and thread to this as well. Duel ammo pouches would work just fine as most IFAKs are not that big. Just be sure to pack it in a way where you can find what you are looking for without having to dump the pouch.

Best Place to buy Reloading Supplies
Omega replied to DraxTheDad's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
The shipping is in line with most other places, but you also have to add HAZMAT (like other places) for most of what everyone needs right now so yea, it would hurt. I am glad I am within driving distance so I can avoid both, maybe you guys local to each other can get together for a group buy and split the shipping and Hazmat charges. When I was out in GA and had no other choice, I would do that with a couple guys, worked out pretty good, but we didn't have the supply issue so it was easy for us to find what we wanted when we wanted it or were ready for an order. Midsouth has had a bunch of powders and bullets lately so hoping the supply side is getting better. -
Interested, PM inbound.

I don't think the insects can get to mine as long as I keep up with the water trap in the middle. Squirrels haven't messed with them, too many black walnuts around me for them to notice them I guess.

I would look for a list that includes some of the IFAK components, but supplement them with stuff you will use more often. The pic below shows the basic contents, but I add small squares 1"x1", out of the quikclot, some bandaids, med scissors, tincture of iodine, a tube of single use medical superglue (can use regular superglue in a pinch) and steristrips.

That was why in many military units the kit is always standardized, so any member can find and use whatever is required without having to even worry if it's your kit or not.

I prefer the CAT style because it seems to be able to put more pressure on the limb, to stop bleeding faster. Of course it's the style they issued us and that I am more familiar with, but even some the improvised styles have a stick of some sort to apply the pressure. I sold a bunch on here from some medical lots I got some time back, still have a few that I place in a bunch of places to have one available if needed.

Ha, I'd be in death valley if that was even partly true.

I can see that, but I also feel that a woman (not child, I'll explain) needs to report such occurrences immediately so something like the morning after pill can be given. As to children, they should be educated to inform their parents, teachers or other authority figures as soon as possible so the same option can be given. Any adult with knowledge of these occurrences that does not report it needs to be held liable for it. After a certain period (need science/medical to weigh in on this), I believe the child gains rights, and unless it threatens the life of the mother, it should be allowed to be born. It's harsh to "force" someone to have a child, but we must protect those that can't do it for themselves. Any state or jurisdiction that has a law in which you can be charged for two murders when killing a pregnant woman needs to ban abortions as well, with the proper exceptions such as the Rape, Incest and endangering the mother with the above stipulations.

We got about 3-4 minutes of rain, and it wasn't very hard either.

Yea well, there are those that think the earth is flat so...

I believe the 2nd is written well enough to defend it's meaning at every turn. Abortion rights argument, as seen during Rowe v Wade were very hard to agree with constitutionally, at least in the manner for which the decision was written. Who knows, maybe down the road a case will reach SCOTUS and a more constitutionally correct argument can be made to support it again. The same for the GCA, the argument was very bad for the pro side, so we lost, if a much better argument can be presented in a future case, maybe we can get rid of that too, but until then, it is the law of the land and expect them to enforce it.
-
That isn't quite the same, I am ok with a state telling the feds to pound sand within their borders, but having a legislative body in your state being selective on what state law they will enforce, for political reasons, should be a giant red flag to all of us. If TN were to pass a law I could not live with, I would fight to get it changed, or move. I don't like sanctuary cities/states for illegal immigrants, but feel the same way about those, for those who undoubtedly will accuse me of only supporting conservative laws.
-
Not in my eyes, there is a difference between protecting the Constitution and protecting criminal actions. More like illegal immigrant sanctuary states.

It may be in the works, SCOTUS seems to be signaling such cases may be looked at now. Supreme Court says several gun cases deserve a new look (yahoo.com) -

That makes sense, I figured there was a reason they were saying that. I am surprised the mayor wasn't laying blame on the other town, like they always seem to do instead of acknowledging that the lack of laws isn't the problem. -

That is where you and I differ, first we shouldn't have to SBR anything, as it is no more lethal than a rifle, maybe even less so. But I would say that someone who puts a brace on a pistol has done just about as much work as someone who goes the SBR route. They both understand the law, both want to stay legal, and both have, probably, passed a few background checks. It's just that the brace guy didn't feel like the government is due $200 and all those weeks or months of waiting to legally own a weapon which the constitution clearly says he should be able to own. -

I am interested on why an arm brace would have been a factor on your thinking, it makes no tactical or technical difference between a pistol with a brace and an SBR which have been available for decades. Not to belabor the point, but and individual hell bent on killing someone, or many someones, would not care of the legality of one vs another, and would, if they knew anything about ARs, opt for just using an illegal SBR vs a brace. To kind of keep on subject; anyone know what type of rifle he used? I read that it was purchased/acquired legally, but they have an "assault" weapons ban in place. I also seen where someone called it AR like, so what could be a legal Ar style rifle that would be legal there?
