  1. What are you using for heat? Do you have carbon monoxide monitors?
  2. All my ARs shoot a pretty decent group if I do my part. My 5.56 have only shot standard ball ammo, with a few green tips and tracers thrown into the mix. With decent ammo or reloads I could probably keep them all MOA or darn close. I've used a led sled for some time to zero my rifles, to take me out of the equation, it's translated real well when I've had to shoot off-hand. I feel barrel harmonics play the better part of a decent rifle, most everything else is to get the shooter better.
  3. I had noticed that antlers would come up missing on road killed deer within a day or two of me noticing them. I often wondered what people did with them so I began looking, seems alot. I was tempted to stop a few times for S&G, since I didn't really have a use for them, but was always either too late, or I had nothing to cut them off with. Then I seen a knife with antler scales, so I then decided the next time I had a chance I'd get me a set for sure. One day, my beagle didn't want to come in, which is usually because she found a dead squirrel or something. I went to investigate and found a dead deer just outside my fence. I didn't get a chance that morning to investigate further as I had to go to work, but it looked intact. That evening, i went to check it out, and drag it away from my fence, and it turned out to be a nice 8-point, one that I had not seen around here. It must of been hit by a car and run off, dying by my fence. I figured it would be a great set of rattling antlers so I cut them off, well, one side as the other (right)had broke right at the base due to the car. I always wanted to get a pair for this, but never wanted to seperate any of my harvested ones, so this worked out perfectly. Now I have to find some sheds, or road kill ones with a thick base for a knife.
  4. I was asking because this year I have a dark spotted doe that showed up. Most deer around here are a lighter brown/ tan, but I've seen some darker ones at processing places.
  5. Nice buck; that sure seems like some dark coloration. Is that just the pic, or is that the norm in that area?
  6. I got a nice doe opening day, giving my spot a break and going back out tomorrow.
  7. This is the case I was referring to, I didn't follow the entire thing but at the time I don't recall the guy being charged down the road. http://concealednation.org/2015/06/convicted-felon-kills-armed-robber-potentially-avoids-gun-charge/
  8. I think it depends on why you lost your permit. Most reasons are because you can't own a gun, but if it just expires or something I don't see why not.
  9. In your case, maybe prepaid burial plan might be something to look at. I'm thinking of getting one of those on top of my life insurance.
  10. Is it a straight fence or is it curved inward? It doesn't take as much effort to toss it over a straight fence.
  11. They released the name, apparently a 54yo guy on his way to work at the Nissan plant. I don't know if this bridge had one or not but they need to all have tall fences installed, especially in areas like that. https://www.scoopnashville.com/2018/11/chunk-of-concrete-likely-thrown-from-bridge-killed-man-on-i-24-tuesday-morning/
  12. Ha, yes, I see it now. Must be my non bifocals contacts playing tricks on me.
  13. It looks to me like the projectile took out the front sight, not dusty, but scarred. It also looks like copper, residue on top of the slide, so maybe the bullet was going downward??
  14. I don't think there will be a buyback, but if there were, I'd think it would be based on original purchase price, not the inflated priced some paid when they hit the spotlight, and I'd be ok with that.
  15. BS, they've had since 1934 to figure out what a machine gun is, or is not (I feel that law is unconstitutional too). And these bump fire solutions have been available since what 03' or 04'? In 2005, they screwed Adkins out out of his life's savings, not to mention all the buyers of the Adkins accelerator. Now they are fixing to do the same to another company and a bunch of gun owners. Instead of making laws which affect only law abiding citizens, they should make laws that hit those that break current laws, use a gun in a crime, double their time.
  16. Well, let's look at the anology; the way to execute an extra point or field goal is to get the ball between the goal post uprights. But if they then change it to where it now has to go between one foot over the horizontal bar and one foot below the top of the uprights, after you have kicked the ball, then would anyone go for that? It's their charge to give us the left and right limits to stay legal, if they are not up to the job they need to find employment elsewhere.
  17. Actually not the point. The point is that they keep moving the goal posts; if they rule something legal, then how are we to know otherwise. As far as I'm concerned, if they "change" their minds, the onus is on them to make current owners whole, not make them destroy their property or go to jail. This is not the first time they have pulled this BS, they should not be allowed to do it again.
  18. They are surprisingly stout, I haven't wore one out, but I don't drink that much. But I think it's more of a useful novelty, so with just occasional use it should last forever.
  19. This should have been seen as its own "Red Flag"
  20. I don't know, when the Green Tip thing went out there was about the same response. Some of us wrote comments (to both issues) and there were a bunch of angry threads about both. But the over all mentality of gun owners has been, and probably will continue, "if it doesn't affect me...". I am upset that he leaned that way, but I also felt that it was inevitable, he is a politician after all. I will still write in to the ATF, and voice my opposition, mainly because it is not going to matter, a stick or belt loop can be used the same way and it will then be the way you use a weapon instead of the design that makes it an auto, pistol, rifle etc. The brace, light triggers, custom springs are on this slope, and the slipperier it gets, the more it can take down with it.
  21. Or Weiner
  22. RIP Roy; I used to watch Hee Haw quite a bit.
  23. It's relatively easy, just need some hex and/or star bits, maybe a screw driver to pry the magnet off (carefully, they're brittle) the metal piece. Since it's not to be put back together, a large hammer might work too
  24. I don't know, I would think due process would be to allow someone to defend themselves of what ever charge was leveled against him before actually acting against him. A warrant does not give the police the right to confiscate anything not related to a crime of some sort, and it usually written specific to the crime being investigated . The law needs some serious review as far as I am concerned.
  25. I pull mine apart and take the magnet(s) out. I've epoxied them to the back of those magnetic bars Harbor freight gives out now and then. I stick them to my bench, tool box, deer gambrel etc, to hold my tools and knives. You can always shoot the leftovers, those hard drive platters make good targets (shiny)
