I wonder if it was rifle fire? Seems a rather big discrepancy in hits between the good guys and bad guy. Hope they tagged the BG a few times.

Most of those braces have been through ATF scrutiny and have been deemed "Not a Stock". There had been an ATF opinion letter that said shouldering them was illegal, a subsequent letter seemed to say that was not the case. So currently, you may shoulder a brace and as long as no modifications are made to the brace, they remain legal. Of course this may change in the future, as the ATF seems to change their opinions with every different guy in charge.

Well, at least he had something going for him

It's the freaking Russians I tell you, they're trying to infiltrate our gun sites.
-
Did you say stinker? Are we back to Greg's boat? Oh wait, where's my darn glasses.

Russia can see the moon, they can verify or dispute the things that were left up there, why have they not announced to the world that nothing is up there. The mirror that was setup by that crew can today still be used to bounce lasers off it. Hard to dispute that.

Yes, we get both here; pallets vs packages etc. The point is that the guns may have been divided up after leaving the distro facility, so it's easier to steal them there.

Don't blame him one bit.

That's pretty dang close to my hunting area, the ferry sighting puts him on that side of the river. There are a few unoccupied dwellings around there, I hope they check them out. -
I was raised in Co, went all over. My Godfather worked for the railroad as a welder so he would be moved to many a small town, he is retired now and lives in Blanca. I hunted a few areas where he had been living, mostly private property but a few of the National Parks as well. As a kid, I would lead a few out of towners to the elk herds, I would earn some good money that way, and since a few didn't want the meat, I had plenty of that as well. Just got back from Denver where my mom still lives, I would not move back there, no how, no way. Maybe out to one of the non tourist towns, but not any city. I almost retired in the Co Springs area, was headed out there but the unit here had priority, don't know if that was a good thing or not.

I would think no, it must have been a shipment to a distributor or a large LGS.

Inside job, somebody knew those weapons were there.

I agree, some were purchased at a much higher price than they were possibly worth so now there is no way to even get close to the purchase price. I have a Smith and Wesson M&P Flattop that I have at least $1000 in, nothing special about it, and there is no way I can begin to sell it for what it will sell for, but, many suffer from the upgrade syndrome, the price tries to break even on all the upgrades. I'm not an upgrade junky, or a brand snob so those prices do not attract me, This is a buyers market, specially for ARs, I would be getting what you have always wanted now, before prices pick back up.

I bet there would be no shortage of CCW permit holders willing to remove them for free.

It's political, the voting base wanted an arrest at any cost. When the video was released, no mention of the gun in his hand, but I think they said one was found afterwards. So from the get go they were trying to railroad the officer. I was leaning towards the perp's side of things until the police union weighed in with all the facts. His record shows he should have been in prison, if anyone is to blame, it's the ones that had him on the streets. His record, IMO, should not be considered unless the officer knew who he was pursuing, but it does show he had a reason to run and possibly use the gun to keep from getting arrested. And now with the rest of the shenanigans to affect an arrest, I am definitely leaning towards the cops side on this.

I would use the data for the weight, since it's the same size, relatively, the weight would be the only difference. Velocity will be different, increase as you speculated, and pressure, probably less, since the bullet will move forward sooner. Bearing surface should start the same since it's the same mold, but hardness may be an issue since the bullet may not obturate as much, leading to less bearing surface.

If he was legal, I highly doubt this situation would of happened, first off, there would have been no pursuit, no gun in hand, so I don't see this particular case as an escalading issue.

Now that is an interesting weapon, but would it be an NFA since one pull of the trigger sets off three rounds?

I think he was a felon, so constitutional carry would not apply, unless they had restored his rights. https://fox17.com/news/local/man-shot-killed-by-metro-police-has-lengthy-criminal-history While the stop may have been a mistake, the shooting could have been avoided had he dropped his weapon. Many people get pulled over due to mistaken identity or because they are in a similar vehicle on a BOLO. But even then, once pulled over they can be charged if there is any probable cause, such as an odor of marijuana or alcohol, in which case the reason for the original stop becomes a moot point.
