  1. Semper Fi Brother! Rest peacefully and proud sir!
  2. Semper Fi to all my brothers. I try to remind the family every year what the day is for and what it means. Remembering is what it is all about.
  3. I am still breathing so I obviously told her in person.  LOL
  4. As it seems divorce is a national trend these days I guess I beat the odds.     There was a day in my life I will always cherish. I was at the Naval Base near Chicago, cold, snowy, blustery windy day. I was headed back to post when this very cute girl stopped me to ask directions. I gave her directions and cautioned her on the not so good area we were in. I then followed her to the store. She was cute, very cute. I got her room number so we could meet later.    I remembered the room number but not the barracks number. So as I was smitten with her I checked every barracks in the area until I found the right one. Key words there are the “Right one”. We dated for a while then I was so smitten I asked her to share my life permanently. She said “Yes”!   That was 30 years ago today on May10th, 1986. Since then we have had ups and downs. She has put up with more than she should have. She has raised 3 great children and we have 2 grandkids! On this anniversary I wish to express my love for the ”Right one”.    So maybe this is not as romantic as others have been able to express but I am alas, not a poet. Just a husband that is very proud of his wife.  She has been my light and love for 30 years. I find that so hard to believe as it seems like yesterday. Happy Anniversary Jean! I love you as much today as the first frosty day we meant. I will cherish you always!   And to top it off my lovely bride like's guns!
  5. #1 is not Shelbyville. Drove by today. Building is wrong windo count and different rock formation
  6. #1 looks like the damn there in Shelbyville.
  7. http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2016/04/21/pop-superstar-prince-dies-57/   I guess he is now the artist formerly known as the artist formerly known as "Prince".       http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2016/04/21/former-wwe-superstar-chyna-dies-at-45/?intcmp=hpbt4   I guess Chyna was her own undoing. Darn drugs again.
  8. Well define furry....wife? Ouch...stop...I was kidding honey...... Mike will be able to answer further posts when the swelling resolves from both eyes.......The Wife.
  9. I am an animal lover. I find it hard to inflict pain except to kill and eat with the exception of varmints. But that particular dog is pushing the limits. I was thinking of an electric wire low around perimeter. He is obviously use to just running through there so a new wire might dissuade him. Trying not to be the new land owner who comes off as a dink first time I meet the neighbors. I will work into it and let them know but honey gets the flies type thing. As for the wife, no promises. She is still thinking taser.
  10. So as we got to the land a little later then we had wanted we had to rush through getting the tents up. Oops #1. No big deal. I just kept rolling down hill. Oops #2 Onto the wife! OK so we solved that easy enough, got up turned bed sideways. Now feet are just a little lower then head, Good deal. Could have used another blanket as it got a little cooler. Oops #3. OK so I am asleep and snoring (According to wife) I wake up suddenly when I hear something running through the camp site. I am alarmed and expected in a hoard of marauding raccoons bent on stealing MY food, maybe even a bear hunting dinner, Or a possum looking for an easy meal. Sasquatch would have been easier to deal with. That I would have just shot and gone back to sleep. No, it had to be a dog from one of the neighbors who live just far enough away not to hear the mongrel barking incessantly until 2am. Outside our tent. I wanted to shoot it, wife said no just scare it away. Apparently it does not scare easy. Gave up, went and slept in truck with radio on. Wife did also. Shortly after that son joined us. Now morning comes, Of all of the things in the world I want after that night was a hot cup of coffee, Get stove set up, get pot, get water, get coffee......uh where did we pack the coffee.....Oh SH$^#^&% we forgot the coffee!!!! So to my backup plan. We had not cracked either of the two thermos bottles we had packed along and both were still decently hot. Not quite as much as I would have wanted, but hey, it is coffee! After that we hiked the perimeter and scouted a homesite. We got a good idea of driveway and power line access area. Best of all I spent a good day with my family in the woods. Breakdown of campsite took about an hour is all and went well. So after all of that I am happy! One last issue was my brand new chainsaw would not start, grrrrrr. Back it goes in morning. Yes It was running when we left, Good news is we took a backup! So no real time lost there. So now wife and I are discussing what to do about the dog. My thoughts were along the lines of draw and quarter, son thinks paintball gun, other son thinks 12 Gauge beanbags. Wife........Who I love dearly for thirty years now.....A very animal loving woman....... SHE WANTS ME TO BUY A TASER! Did I mention I love this woman!
  11. Exactly this! Assistance is something beyond what we pay taxes for! Assistance should be limited not expected. I expect the roads to be fixed and the service from our military as I pay for that via my taxes.
  12. Actually, never mentioned the pointing thing, someone else did. My comment was directed at the guy saying it could be loaded then telling him he has limited knowledge. Seemed like a dumb thing to say from my point of view. As for safety, why yes, I disagree with ever pointing a gun at people. Keep that muzzle up. I have no issue with someone telling him not to point that at me. As a matter of fact it is a great teachable moment. Of course they missed it but what do you expect from politicians?
  13. I do indeed. Not what he said, how he said it hit me as wrong. I agree never point one at anyone, that is one of the things I hate at gun shows.
  14. He had the THP make it safe and escorted him in. Had a zip tie through the port and one of the other committee members freaked out it could be loaded. Then accused him of knowing nothing when he told him it was not loaded. Bunch of arsehats that need to go away. All of them. What happened to when you do not know something just saying that. "I am sorrry but I do not have enough knowedlge on that topic. I will research it and get back to you." And then do the research and follow up. Why do they always open the cookie hole and prove themselves to be ignorant?
  15. Seems any time we see an incident like this we see a conversation like this. Long story short, it is nothing more than Monday morning quarter backing. None of us were there, and we all know how well the media reports things. So it is all guessing.   In the end I think we should be allowed to protect not only our lives but our property as LE has proven they are incapable. Not their fault as such, just the ugly truth.   If enough folks were handled this way then it might get through the entitlement feelings and make the criminals realize that oops, that might get me killed. Maybe not a good idea.   But in reality I doubt it. My feelings is they will keep doing it regardless.    Just like anything else the possible outcome needs to be harsh enough to get through to those that lack morals that there will be repercussions. If those repercussions are bad enough it might make up for the lack of morals. But again, I doubt it.    In this case there is one less person in the world that arguably deserved to be removed. I will not lose any sleep over him.
  16. Anything that can make someone smile even for a short time is not all that bad. Perhaps a code word in the title so folks that do not want to see them can just skip on by. I personally find some of them very distracting from the usual hoopla we have to see these days. I also enjoy the gun talk of course. I even enjoy the stories of our dogs. I have had mine since we said I do 30 years ago. She said yes and I have been.....ouch....stop....honey, I was kidding..... Gotta go, this is my favorite shirt and I do not want the stain to set.
  17. The whole store is a joke. Took each of my kids to Vegas for their 21st birthday. Went by while there. Very small shop. Mostly full of merchandise from the show, hats, cups, shirts. According to the locals the only time they see any of them is when they are filming. They were filming day we dropped by. They would not let anyone in except crew and extras while they filmed. Was not impressed.
  18. I went with the Tacoma after a lot of research. 4 door with the short bed. It fits in garage and with a shell the dogs are OK. I would not leave them in it while not moving though. Back seats have plenty of room and a small trailer makes it almost perfect. I bought it 16 months ago and it does not sit still much as I have 48ooo + on it already. I do not regret it a bit! I built a removable Kayak rack from treated 2X4s so we can haul the Kayaks without the trailer if we desire. Works great!
  19. I saw on the news this evening he has passed. My condolences to family and friends. No excuse for this behavior.
  20. Except they don't leave it there. If a baker can be sued and fined for not providing a service to someone based on his religion how can anyone else do the same? I also do a bit of trading on there and have had quite a few back outs and no calls after a deal. At least on FB I can look over someone's profile and see if they look like a decent person. I do not sell to thug wannabes or other not so upstanding types so that alone made it nice. I will miss them and if it all turns out to be true I will look into a lawsuit. I have had enough of this punishing everyone for the bad behavior of a few. Especially when it comes to gun owners always being the bad guys.
  21. Probably has a Hildebeast sticker on her car. Cross contamination? How many of us have cut up deer in our garage or kitchens? Just another ignorant busy body with nothing better to do.
  22. I launched my sisters hamster...Parachuted back safely! Mom, dad, and sister were not amused. I will never forget that day. I learned 2 lessons. 1. More fuel needed to achieve orbit. 2. Dad was quick with a switch Now these days a drone makes it easy and they can even live stream the video.
  23. My grandfather went to the polling place and voted republican until the day he died. He has since voted early and democrat. Often!
  24. One of the shows I remember truly liking as a kid. Only 2 weeks into the new year and so many lost.
