  1. I am not a lawyer. But I think they have no right to search either one unless you agree to let them. Of course, you refuse, you get fired, as is their right. Then you could try a lawsuit for unlawful termination, but again, Tennessee is a right to work state, so…
  2. I dont think they have the right to search either. But id you GIVE them that right, then id imagine they could search whatever you agreed that they could search.
  3. Kind of. Bear in mind that there are difference between civil 'rights' and civil 'liberties'.
  4. You are right. However, Tennessee, being a right to work state, retains the right to terminate folks for almost anything. I Hard to prove anything, Id guess. I think an employer would just bide their time and end up firing her for some 'other' offense.
  5. Well shoot, cant find what I was looking for, but the bottom line is the bill doesn't change anything regarding trespassing. Th property owner, as has always been the case, has the right to ask people to leave his/her property. Failure to do so constitutes criminal trespass. This bill simply removes the current criminal charge of carrying past a gunbuster sign on private property. As it should be.
  6. It’s in there, I saw it earlier. I’ll look for that passage tomorrow.
  7. I think it’s already like this as far as if you’re asked to leave a private property, failing to do so is criminal trespass.
  8. It doesn’t. This false argument for property owners rights was used before to shoot this idea down. The owner can still ban guns. It’s just that violating that ban isn’t a criminal offense. BUT, the owner can enforce it by asking an armed person to leave. Failing to do so IS a criminal offense, I.e. criminal trespass. Both sides rights are protected that way.
  9. I had one several years ago. It was an awesome 1911, it was as reliable as my Colt Combat Commander. I was talked into trading it in for a Glock 20 and I regretted it from the get go. I would buy it back if I could. Interesting 2nd hand story about them: back when Lakewood was a city, the Chief of Police supposedly carried one that he had tricked out for competition and was very accurate and successful with it. May not be true, I don’t know, but I do know the one I had was both reliable and as accurate as my Commander.
  10. I’ve wanted to do ham radio most of my adult life, but never took the time to learn it. In the beginning I was afraid of code, but then when that requirement went away, I was just too busy. I had to retire due to time off for prostrate cancer treatment and an uncooperative employer, so provided this treatment works I will be taking some classes or self study and get my license. I just wish I had bought a couple good radios before I retired and the money got short.
  11. that seems pretty good for free! Thanks. Looking now to see if they have an app on my apple tv box. i think they do. is there an advantage to signing up f0or an account?
  12. I’m slowly getting used to hulus menu. It’s very confusing and not very intuitive at all. Must be designed by an idiot. There’s a ways to see a guide by recently watched channels or favorites. It would be so much easier if they numbered the channels and either let you add the numbers you want or at least let you punch in the number of the show you want to watch rather having to scroll through everything to find the one. ‘I’m not planning on returning to Comcast, but yes, their product was pretty good and reliable and I like their guide and.recording methods. I see a lot of comments in Hulu communities about the guide so I’m wondering why they don’t fix it. Also wish I could get the military history channel without paying for another package.
  13. I recently dumped Comcast cable and went with ATT Fiber. I was going to consider Google fiber but it wasn’t available in my neighborhood. I went with the 1gig plan for 80 bucks. I compared YouTubeTVand Hulu+LiveTV and decided to go with Hulu. I’m doing the no ads one at around 98 bucks. It comes with Disney plus and espn+ which I really don’t care about. I get 2 screens at once and that works though more would be better. One thing I like is unlimited dvr cloud storage and the ability to delete a recorded program after it’s watched. A friend who has YouTube tells me he has to leave recorded programs there for 9 months. I looked at fubu also but didn’t like some things. I know live TV can be had via an antenna and I have that setup in my office. I get local channels and their sub channels on it fine but dvr is important for other TVs in the house. Cloud dvr is good if it works like I need. I don’t really want to buy multiple dvr devices for each room. My wife likes all the true crime shows that are like documentaries and also records many shows on local channels to watch later and zip thru commercials. I like history, military history, American Heroes Channel, NatGeo, etc…with Hulu I don’t get the military history channel unless I pay extra. Cable was the same. Also the Hulu guide sucks big time. Its not intuitive, is hard to navigate and can’t be really personalized. Also, it’d be nice if all TVs could see the same recorded shows under both my wife’s and my sign on. Comcast didn’t do a lot right, but I liked their guide and their cloud dvr. What are yall using? Anyone have similar needs as me and have a better solution? I like the att fiber but would like a better tv provider.
  14. I carry Hornady Critical Defense as my standard load in just about every pistol I use for self defense. Only exception is my S&W Governor. If I remember correctly, in that I have some Winchester PDX1 Defender shot shells.
  15. B me too. I retired from the USAF after 20 years as. Military cop, then finished my college and started another career in State government, working in an office, helping veterans Eventually moved up from that role, but stayed in the dept, and just retired again after a 26 year career. Don’t plan on working anymore if we can adjust our lifestyle to our current incomes, she still works as she is much younger than me.
  16. Im interested. How many shells does it hold. Are you interested in any trades?
  17. Welcome! Where are you coming from? I have used the Guns & Leather ranges in Greenbrier and until the tornado, the one in Hendersonville that was recently bought by and renamed Outpost Armory. I’ve not yet shot at the Range USA but I did do a store look around a couple weeks ago. How were the ranges? I noticed that they seemed to have a lot of staff around the day I was there/
  18. I agree. Im a TFA member and have made donations but not as much as I should have. Have never found the time to attend meetings, but just retired and plan to start attending. I'm vocal among my friends about this issue.

    WHY?

Church is the last place id be unarmed! I dont like crowds for many reasons, but one of the reasons is lack of security. Seems to me that large venues and especially churches are/will be targeted. We just started going to a local church this past Sunday. I don't know yet if they have a security team, but I did see some guys around that COULD have filled that role. If we decide to make this our new church home, I'll learn more, and if i see a need, offer my assistance. If not, I'll still be armed.
  20. I usually use my iPad Pro to browse new content on TGO, and after reading the posts and threads I want to, I select mark site read on the right top or bottom and then select show new content in the same place. This sets me up for the next time I check things out. Sometimes though, and I can’t figure out why, those two option simply do not show in either place. I can still find the options in a drop down, but it’s simpler for me to just do it the way I like. Anyone know what I’m doing to cause this? It fixes itself after a while usually, but it’s annoying to my ocd mind. By the way, my ocd is so bad I have to spell it cdo.
  21. This is Koira. We kinda inherited her from my youngest daughter who, during a rough spot, was unable to care for her. Now she's a part of the family for sure and thinks she's Queen. VERY loyal and loving dog, probably the most so I've ever seen. She's very attached (almost neurotically) to my wife, but likes me ok too. I think she's around 5 years old.
  22. The Greenbrier pro shop is gone? I was there to have Jeff do something minor to one of my guns fairly recently. And the Hendersonville location is gone too?
