  1. me too, but sounds vaguely familiar...
  2. Love that patch!
  3. Where do you get the coupon?
  4. Which gun vault do you have for your larger guns?
  5. I've got an AR pistol with a 7.5 in 5.56mm, with a brace. I love it. It's gas piston operated, more accurate than I am, runs great and is a fine weapon (Sig). I want to get a car safe to keep it in the car when i am, but have not found the right one yet. I have read much though, about how .300 Blackout is better suited to short barrels than is 5.56mm. So there's that.
  6. yep...thats my experience also. I'm positive that the intent of LEOSA is being interfered with by Tennessee for some reason. I could tell when i spoke with the guy at the State who handled this, they flat out discouraged folks form doing the Nationally certified one.The guy also said, well you should just get a HCP, thats what most retired LEOs here do. Heck, they weren't even fond of the State only one, but maybe slightly less against this one. Ive got friends in many other states that retired from the same agency I did, and almost all of them dont have to jump through all of these hoops.
  7. Not familiar with this model. I have a Bersa Thunder pro 9mm and also a Firestorm .22LR. I used to have a Thunder .380. Bothe Thunders are/were awesome guns. Most reviews Ive read about the old Model 86's seem not so favorable.
  8. Didnt buy any guns, but I did pick up a few items i wanted.
  9. Condolences for your loss...
  10. Welcome.
  11. Love those grips. I like CZs. My P-01, P-07 and P-09 shoot like dreams. Sadly, I dont carry them due to the weight and size, but love shooting them.
  12. Rarely if ever do I hear of a Hi-Point failing to go bang at the appropriate time. I have one of their 9mm carbines, and its reliable.
  13. This isnt the same Nashville your grandparents, or even parents remember. The influx of folks from the west and the Northeast that came with all the new jobs, not to mention the immigrants, have changed this town. I doubt it will ever be like it used to be. I live on the outskirts of the county and cant wait to move out completely. The crime is bad, the traffuic is horrendous, taxes high...the only thing left here are jobs.
  14. Not against soccer coming here, not even against a new stadium, but the gummint needs to stay out of it,.
  15. The body style kinda reminds me a little bit of the old east German Trabants that we started seeing all over west Germany after the wall came down. Seems like they had lawn mower engines and would get on the autobahn and go like 35 mph, lol. One of them hit one of our Armed Forces Police American cruisers and the trabbie was totaled! lol, i went to the accident scene and it was made of what looked and felt like compressed cardboard.
  16. Meatloaf's Bat Out Of Hell album was awesome. Saw him at Nashville's Starwood Amphitheater years ago. Was probably one of the best concerts I ever attended. He gave an absolutely great performance. Such energy. Sadly, he never amounted to much after that album. Reuniting with the same producer for the Bat Out Of Hell II album was the only appreciable success he had after the original.
  17. Love almost all the listings above plus so many more, too many to list. Probably my top five today would be the below, but it could change tomorrow. 1. CCR 2. Eagles 3. Queen 4. Marshall Tucker Band 5. Charlie Daniels Band
  18. For smaller guns like the Shield or the SIg P-365, I usually use a IWB kydex from wethepeople.com. Seems pretty well made and reasonable in cost, plus always offering a discount it seems. I also have a Alien Gear shape shift starter pack for mtghe shield that I sometimes use. Pretty bulky though. Bigger guns I usually carry leather OWB, but cant say i have a favorite. With either of them, I do have a good quality riggers belt to support the gun and spare mags. When I have to dress up for work, i usually carry in a pocket holster.
  19. BLACKVANDRIVER, man its good to hear from you, and glad you are doing well. miss seeing you and the family!~ Say hi to themn for me, please!
  20. Ive got an original FNH-45USG. Big Hawg, but one of my favorite guns.
  21. Seems like sound advice. Thanks.
  22. After MANY years of interest, I think im about ready to actually get into this. Not licensed yet, but this is my year. Ive got one of those little cheap Baofeng Uv-82HP radios a while back and still havent programmed it. Is there a radio that covers all the ranges of frequencies that i might grow into? I cant do this like I do guns and have too many radios, lol.
  23. methinks Sturgis of late is not the Sturgis of yesteryear...
  24. If you think this would be a good event for someone interested but not yet into it, Id love to hear more about it.
