  1. Why?
  2. I was thinking Cain & Newt. Newt's got some baggage that might hold him back as the primary man, but possibly not as the vice...man, if that happened, I would envision him being not a vice like Biden, but more like Cheney...as integral part of the administration...He's quite obviously the smartest of all the candidates, and as an actual working vice, Cain could and would take full advantage of his abilities....this could really work.
  3. That is nice to see. People form other countries sometimes don't value their flag like we do as a symbol of our freedom. When I was stationed in Greenland (a colony of Denmark) many years ago, the "hosts" of the base were the Danish Navy. Of course they only had 3 sailors there, lol, including the commanding officer. There were periods of the year with all daylight or all nightime, but we still conducted reville and retreat ceremonies each day, raising and lowering the colors. We would have two USAF cops report to the Base HQ, and the Danes would send one sailor for their flag. We would observe the standard military custom and courtesy to our flag, making sure that it was not lowered faster than theirs, folding it into the traditional triangle shape. The Danes would just lower their flag, not caring if it touched the ground (it always did). They would just rapidly roll it up into a wad and toss it into the back of their truck. The odd thing is, they just didnt consider that disrespectful...
  4. Thought I'd post the e-mail that Keltec sent me yesterday in case anyone is interested in these 2 guns. The KSG is of course their new 12 guage shotgun and the RMR is the .22 mag carbine companion to the PMR 30 .22 mag pistol. Hi John, RMR: We’re hoping to see the RMRs start shipping by early next year hopefully. There’s no exact date set yet though. MSRP $ 575. KSG: We’re hoping to see the KSGs shipping by year’s end, if not before. There’s no exact date set yet though. We want to make sure we have all the bugs out of them first. Keep checking our website at www.keltecweapons.com and we’ll post an update as soon as a date’s known. Also, many dealers (not us) are already taking preorders for them now, so you should really try to get in line as soon as possible. MSRP $880. Unfortunately, we only sell only to the wholesalers, then they to the dealers, so I don’t have any dealer listings. I can only suggest online or the phonebook and calling them to find out if they carry or can order what you’re looking for.
  5. Id make him Ambassador to Bumf*** as long as he promised to stay there and NEVER come back!
  6. I voted for him because I still think he's matginally better than the Democrats. I am getting oh so tired of voting for people only becasue I consider them the lesser of two evils...I learned my lesson many years ago when I voted for Ross Perot...one needs to think long and hard before voting for an Independant candidate. Sometimes it just equates to helping the Dems get elected. Alexander can go home anytime.

A recent thread on here about Dakota Meyer brought back some old USAF memories. I was proud to call Duane Hackney my friend. Here is his story. I think its a good one... A Habit of Heroism Duane D. Hackney - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  8. I liked it...I saw some guns at some decent prices, and managed to snag an accessory item I had been looking for...hope by next time, they fix the a/c and they DO need some more parking...usually I get to gun shows at opening or before, but my daughter is playing sports on sat mornings so I was late getting to the show...parking was hard to find by the time we arrived. Hope they fine tune it and keep having it here...much closer for me than any others and one of the best I've seen.

    Mr. Mom?

I've been a single dad with custody since my daughter was in diapers, and she's 12 now almost 13. Hard as it is sometimes, I've loved it...we are closer than most fathers/daughters I think...
  10. I liked it !
  11. Many also don't know that the recent earthquake on the east coast was caused by a faultline in DC known as Bush's Fault.:-)

  13. Great Report. Thanks. I also have the Firestorm .22. How is it different from the Bersa? I know Bersa makes them both, but is there a difference? I love mine. Does anyone know of a local source for mags for these?

  15. Do you remember reading about one of the heroes in one of the towers when 911 happened, of this guy being personally responsible for saving something like 2500 people? He was last seen heading back upstairs to check for stragglers...well I recently ran across another story about him. Remember the book and movie "We Were Soldiers Once...and Young? This guy was a 1st LT in Hal Moore's outfit in the Ia Drang Valley...His picture was on the cover of the book...This is a very good story: 911 Remembered: Rick Rescorla was a soldier
  16. There are some nice rubber grip panels that are the same size as the original grips, just softer..and they install the same as the originalbut that still leaves the backstrap to contend with though...
  17. I also think open carry hurts the cause...shouldn't, and it ain't right, but lets face facts here...a majority of the sheeple are afraid of guns. I only open carry on my own property, but even when concealed, Im sure there are times when I can be "made" by a discerning eye. As far as property owners deciding if guns are ok or not on their property...I'm pulled in a couple different directions on this. One solution would be to structure the posting law so that if a owner posts, then he would have no legal protection if someone was shot, i.e. lawsuits against him for removing the ability to self protect while not providing adequate protection to guests...
  18. Hilarious!
  19. It wouldn't surprise me one damn bit to discover that Obama's health care bill has a provision in it that does just that-ban guns! If it don't, then it's ONLY becauswe they forgot to include it.
  20. Looks like a good job on that pipe! Ive often wanted to try that...I did buy one in Gatlinburg several years ago that was handcarved but not finished...the idea was to either finish it yourself, or let the natural oils of you hands and fingers finish it over time...I just smoked it, and it eventually turned out beautifully. As far as pipes being too much trouble, well, for me anyway, the whole ritual thingie of loading tamping lighting relighting etc is all a part of it. I use the 3-2-1 method for packing and once I got the hang of that it usually also lasts an hour or so per bowl. And I also found that I like the old fashioned strike anywhere matches way better than a lighter, although I do own a Zippo pipe lighter and a couple good butanes. I keep a double fist sized flat bottomed rock on the table next to my recliner next to my tobacco ashtray for striking. My ashtray (not really for ashes) is a wooden bowl, made for walnuts, that I removed the cracker tool holder and replaced with a pipe cork...works great, looks great, and holds my backy pouch, matches, a pipe or 3, and a couple tampers and tools, etc..
  21. Pray that the intruders have found Jesus because they will be meeting him soon.
  22. I smoke pipes, though not as much as I used to...I have a small collection of a 30 or so, everything from cheapies to high end ones. I have a $30 Lorenzo that smokes every bit as good as the $600 Julius Vesz that I picked up in a moment of financial weakness. I've noticed that many pipe tobacconists blend their own tobacco, so I'm always experimenting. A good standby that I can find anywhere is Palladin Black Cherry. Smooth, no bite and smells wonderful. In these days of cigar and cigarrette intolerance, I find that many people are not only more accepting of pipe smoke, but some even like it. I used to go to Tobacco Road when it was in Harding Mall, and then Uptowns in Green Hills, but now usually go to the Cigar Club in Rivergate.
