I'm also carrying Hornady Critical Defense in my Sig 1911's, and also in my FNP-45.

If I correctly understand what you mean...it definitely does not happen to me. I am on TGO off and on most days, and check it every so often for new posts, the same way you said you do. Almost always after even as short a period as 5 mins there have been several posts since i last checked...wonder if it could be something in either your settings or your internet provider?

Running a check is a good thing, but it still isn't conclusive...I heard of a gun shop that bought some used guns one time, running the state check prior to buying them...came back clean...then a few days later when selling one of the guns, 2nd check came back as stolen!

The Scorpion must be popular since they are adding that to our lines... Seems like I recall someone on here (maybe MagicCarpetRides) already having one of the POW/MIA 1911 models...I saw pics of it somewhere anyway.

I have one. I love it, its by far my favorite gun. Shoots great, not picky at all. More accurate than I am.

Sure seems like it. I dunno who started the charging for parking...at first i thought it was the Fairground board/Mayor who want to stop the shows...now I wondr if its the gun show promoter, looking to make more money, lol.

Not so sure that wearers of the so called "shoot me first" vests are known much to be gun folk except maybe by other gun folk and cops...As a guy who has always carried too much "stuff", I love those vests. Ive wore one for years all over the world. Used to be really into photography and many of my fellow photo nuts wore them too. As I evolved into a gun nut, I still like my vests...I usually wear my gun and accessories on my pants belt, OWB, but my vest is a useful cover up, and it's pockets have my pipe, lighter, tobacco and other junk handy. Mine is not the usual gun vest or hunting/fishing style, but a longer length "safari" style that comes down below an untucked shirt. As for an extra mag carrier, I use one of two that I like. One is a rough leather open top single mag carrier that I picked up for TEN BUCKS at a recent gun show, allegedly made by the Amish, believe it or not. The other is a nylon 5.11 horizontal double carrier that fits on the belt in a way to make carrying two mags pretty unobtrusive. Or can also carry one mag and a flashlight in it instead.

If I were to wait for a candidate that I loved 100%, Id be waiting forever. Voting for one of the ones that has NO chance of winning, just to prove a point, is ill conceived, and will only help BHO win. This election is way too important to play that way. If you are truly against BHO winning again, the ONLY play is vote the winner of the GOP ticket. Like it or not, its still the truth!

Instead of banning guns at these places, we should ban baning guns.

I have a ITP SA2 Eluma that I picked up at a gun show in Nashville last year. It uses 2XAA batteries, is made of machined aluminium, has hi/low/strobe features, and has an adjustable brightness feature. I liked it so much I also bought my son one as well. I like the AA batteries since they are so easily replaced. Id like to pick up one that is smaller for everyday carry, but not necessarily this same brand.

Same here. I'm not really sure if there is any one reason I didn't like mine, but I didnt. It shot well. I sold it and now carry an FN 45 USG or more lately a Sig 1911 Carry. Like those better, but I guess it's subjective.

Wow. I never thought about something like that happening. Hate to discover it in the middle of needing to use the gun. I'll be checking mine tonight!

I was at my local pipe shop the other day, and I saw a Zippo lighter that had the 2nd Amendment inscribed on it. I amost bought it, lol. It had a chrome like (shiny) finish on it is the only reason I didn't...

Not sure where Loudon is, but I recently saw a Norinco(Ithink that was the brand)12ga double with hammers for not a heck of a lot of money at D&T Arms in Goodlettsville...

If you are like me and abhor buying holsters via mailorder or online, look locally at some of the nylon and leather offerings for 1911s. I have found that 2 of my 1911 holsters work perfect for my PF9, well, perfect after I remove the 1911, lol. Seriously, PF-9 holster variety is not great in gun stores, but 1911 holsters generally are.

tHATS WHAT i THOUGHT TOO, LOL.

I emember my Granny rolling her own in a contraption that was mounted in a wooden cigar box bottom...this was in the 60's. It had a roller with a trough where you loaded the tobacco, then you rolled it up half way and then licked the paper and inserted it amd then pushed it all the way down...pick out the loose tobacco sticling out the ends and voila! a pretty nasty tasting bugler tobacco cig...Me and my uncle would save our Winston and Marlboro filters sometimes once we found out we could roll them too! They ended up inside the paper but still worked, lol. Then years later as a young adult, I remember in the 70's roilling your own in little machines became quite popular...I tried it, but it wasnt worth the effort to me since cigs were so cheap anyway. When I finally quit when I was in Germany (1990) and I was paying the commissary about $2.00 for a whole freaking carton of generics...obviously I quit for the health, not the cost, lol. Now I do pipes, and like those much better...though you can very easily negate any savings if you start buying too many expensives pipes, lol. For me loading a pipe properly is an art and can be a quite relaxing process, part of the ritual, and smoking a relaxing bowl of good tobacco is the bomb!

I like Gingrich. He's flawed, as are we all, his experience in government, his intelligence, his ability to think on his feet and argue a point of view intelligently, are things I like. He might not be my primary choice in the number one position, but if he was to partner with Cain, and if Cain used him as a working VP rather than just as an alternate President, I think it would be a good team. Bottom line, I'm a ABO (Anybody But Obama) guy. I will vote for whoever wins the GOP ticket becasue I believe that anything else is a vote for the Dems.

Evidence of a mis-spent youth? Or not, lol.

I bought a Nook Color a month or so back at great price. I then bought a Android card for it that converts it to a full fledged Android tablet with 32GB of storage. I liked it before, I love it now. Still has the functionality of the nook, and can read nook books on it, but I can also read any other kind of e-book on it now, Kindle, Sony, whatever, and can also surf the web via wifi, and I can do pretty much anytghing anyone else can do with their tablets. Since I've converted mine, B & N has come out with a Nook tablet, and have downgraded the cost of the original nook color by 50 bucks. But even with my n2a conversion card cost, I'm still ahead moneywise. I take it everywhere, and using a program called Overdrive, I can read library books on it too.

Nice gun, Jason. Congrats!
