One of the guns I got recently from an online auction is a Glock 42 .380. I bought it with a couple others because I wanted to try a Glock and the price was really good. Already had a .380 so ammo was already in stock at the house. It came with the box, test fire envelope, lock (wrong keys though..ooops lol), and one mag with Pearce mag grip extension. Looks totally new and was oiled really well. I am guessing was a backup gun maybe but no info from the source as to history. The only issue I have so far is that the slide is HARD to rack. I am not a weak guy and I have to work at it so much that I might not get the slide fully racked the first time. I can rack my other medium to small size semis just fine. Some are almost new and some are pretty worn in. Anyone else have this? Any chance maybe the previous owner swapped a spring out? Maybe all Glocks are this hard until broken in? Never had one before. Thanks in advance for the input.

Open and Concealed Carry- How do you do it?

Nice collection. lol Thanks for the help. I may see about the WTB ad. I only have a holster for one of my guns and it is not a standard carry item unless you are a LEO from the 1930-40's. -

Ok. My family situation might negate a console mount even though my car has a sweet setup for it. Do they make those belly bands in xxxxL if I decided to use them lol I may just have to wander into the FFL I use and try a few on that he has in stock. Just not a ton of selection, but Cabela's does not seem to be ok with me just whipping out my gun to test holsters in the aisle. -

Jab Thanks for the insight. Lots of points to take into account. Glad to know that I might be able to classify my gut as "tactical" too. Lol I think I would hate iwb too, but will need to test one just to be sure. Winter might not be bad, but summer they would probably kill me. I wear cargo pants almost as a rule and I know how much I can carry. I carry 2 phones (work and home), a Streamlight Stylus Pro light, a Maxpedition Micro, and my Gerber folder every day and no one is the wiser. I can see how a pocket holster might be ok if I shift my pockets around. I just think I would like something larger than my LCP. Might need to try it out with my PF-9. Again thanks for the input. -

Does anyone still actually use shoulder holsters? I actually think I might like one except for needing a jacket all the time. -
I have determined that to be a normal state of affairs. You either move on or live with it. And you can never have too many guns...or tools. Tools are good too.
-
I saw that and did consider it. Still deciding on it. Sounds like a good option.

I have determined the same thing. The only people I see consistently selling are flippers. One guy locally puts up WTB ads all the time then turns around and flips them. He sucks up any good deals then asks retail price when he sells. I have resorted to Gunbroker at times. More conpetition, but more choice. I still keep an eye out though.

Thanks for the input. Do you know if all the GSG stuff is as good? I had a chance to trade for a hi-cap pistol a while back but passed since I had never seen GSG stuff. It wold have been more of a fun gun than a carry since it was in .22lr and screamed Machine Gun.

I remember my Papaw talking about the tanks in WWII. He drove a fuel and munitions truck (who decided gas and explosives in one place???), but loved the twin cadillac engine tanks. He said they used to do 65mph down the Autobahn. I think he really wanted to be in one, but I don't think he ever "officially" got to.

Well I am striving to be buying out powder and components as soon as I can. Lol

Maybe you haven't shot enough today. Go blow though a couple hundred rounds. It cures what ails ya....

Some of us are able to scrounge a few bucks for ammo easier than time to reload. And we make sure we keep rapid turnover of our supply.

But he has to leave room in his back pocket for that ratty looking hankerchief... Is it even in a holster to keep it from falling out??? -
I will check it out. I think derailing conversations is my superpower...I just have to learn to use it for good. Lol. So to bring it back on track... You were/are a tanker?

I knew someone was a Python fan around here. Lol

So Who Else Had Storm Damage From Last Night?

Maybe if it had been oak or maple I could have gotten a mill or someone to take it off my hands. I hate to see that much wood go to waste, but no one wants it unless you cut, split and deliver it...then they want it free... -
I have to go back and forth across Sam's gap about the time it is supposed to be worst. Great timing...lol

I think that first guy was manning a cannon myself. He crammed some chain, broken swords, rock, and some ham bones left over from dinner last night in and fired away. The "If it will fit, fire away" became the slogan. Of course his real secret weapon was when he decided to put livestock in the catapult..........

I have had a few trees blown over and my insurance was great about fixing the damage. They even covered my riding mower that a limb bounced off of. BUT, they always said the tree was not covered and was my issue to deal with.... Sucks clearing a 3 foot thick Poplar by hand. -
Yep I agree, sounds like the same kind of thinking. Next thing he will invent is the recycled beehive round... it will use depleted AA/AAA batteries instead of ball bearings. Or he could go high class and use the CR123 batteries use up in the military optics.

I think I might have found a 2 inch Taurus 94 to fit this role. Just happens, I saw one for sale right at a good price after xtriggerman replied. I will see if I like is as much when I get to handle it. I am still looking at possibly getting a Taurus PT-22 or a Phoenix semi as the semi option for this function. Never hurts to have options and neither of those are expensive. Since this is not my "life or death" gun and will be bounced around in a bag, I am not worried so much with it being the top of the line. Just fun, small, and reasonably reliable. I can see that, I have an affinity for Smith Revolvers....just not the budget most days....
