A lot of guns do that but it is not what I would consider to be a "feature" but a byproduct of an easily jostled slide release. If you think about it, you pull down on a slide release. Pushing a mag UP into the grip would not cause the slide release to bump DOWN. All that is happening is that the impact of the action of slamming a magazine in is jostling the slide release just enough to cause it to disengage. You could do the same thing without a mag in the grip, chamber empty, by slamming the gun down onto it's grip on a hard surface.

The more I read about this handgun and the more videos that I see featuring it in the hands of test and evaluation reviewers, the more interested I become. Actually, I am very interested in getting my hands on one of them and trying it out. I have funds squirreled away to purchase one when they land in stores, if they feel as good in the hand as everyone is saying they do. This is the most recent review I have seen on YouTube and of note is a comment that the reviewer made that this gun yielded faster, more accurate shooting in the hands of several other shooters who all have Glock 19s as their every-day carry.

Resident fanboy? Is this a recent thing? C'mon. Pretty sure I was toting an M&P before you ever bought one, bubba. You were a strict adherent to the wheel-gun religion. I'm glad to see you diversified!

I will never eat Christmas turkey at your house.

If a vehicle pulls out in front of me and I slam into the side of their car, regardless of where I hit them, it's their fault for pulling out in front of me. I still say that just generally speaking everything you keep writing indicates that you live with a mindset where nothing is the consequence of your own doing and everything can be rationalized as the universe conspiring against you. Until you realize that actions have consequences, you're going to have a hard time climbing out of the rut that you've found yourself in. And I hate that for you! There is a lot about your current circumstance that is completely within your control, and while bettering it won't be easy it will be completely worth it. I'm rooting for you, but I am dismayed by the undertones in what I keep reading. I hope you're able to get things squared away.

I could actually smell the scent of stale popcorn mixed with spilt overly-syruped fountain drinks hanging in the air as I read it. Two thumbs up!

This is wisdom born of experience and maturity.

You can pick up Maker's 46 (from the folks at Maker's Mark) in a fifth. You should try that next if you haven't already.

Agree with the above.

$60 is a smoking deal on this. Folks really need to take advantage! -
Welcome back. Sorry to hear about the parents, but congratulations on the grandson. The circle of life is a wonderful and terrible thing!

I am regretting my decision a little.

IPB did away with post numbers at the end of the V3 software. They were problematic whenever threads would get merged, posts would get deleted, etc. Instead they now use the permalink concept where you can use the "Share This Post" link at the top right of any post to reference it in another post.

Going to give you some advice that may seem somewhat unsolicited, but maybe you were hoping folks would offer some? Anyway... I think your problems, or at least the past ones, stem from two major things: Impatience (leading to anger) and lack of resolve to see something through to completion. Thematically, the experiences that you described were short-lived and terminated by your own hand. A few of them you rationalized were out of your control, but you still ended them yourself: Fired from one job for throwing a pizza Didn't have the resolve to run a kitchen job (sober) Wasn't easy to find time to exercise while working a prison job, so you didn't Nursing education didn't work out for undisclosed reason Phlebotomy education didn't work out because you didn't prep enough to pass the exams So my advice is this: Sack up. Life isn't easy. Hard work and perseverance will take you past where talent or natural gifts (such as academics coming easy) let off. There's nothing wrong with bouncing around between things while you figure out what makes you happy, but there's a nothing right about giving up prematurely or blaming outcomes on circumstance. You are the master of your own destiny. Make your own "luck". Find something in life and stick with it past the point of your own comfort, just to prove to yourself that you can and so that you discover that "comfort" is a state of mind and therefore something that you control. Just some honest talk from someone who was restless in his 20's and thankfully had someone sit him down and talk to him like this. I hope you get it all figured out.

Geez... I thought it was but I wasn't sure. Ok, look, here's the deal: I set you up with a Benefactor account that will expire at the end of December. If you want to renew at the end of that time, it would be appreciated. If not, I won't bother trying to help next time around. Merry Christmas.
-
Man, even under your old account you'd disappear for long periods of time and then show up periodically. I was looking through the posts under the Ebow1 account and back in 2014 you had a "I've been away for a while" post then too. I'm all for helping folks and would help any of our regulars in a heartbeat... but is this just a "I want to dump a few things for sale and then you're not going to see me again until I need something else" sort of thing?

It's my favorite time of the year! I had to throw up some lights.
-
Sooooo.... do you want me to merge this account with your old account, make the email address current on ebow1 and then help you fix that stuff? And no, you can't post an Armslist ad here.

I had a bottle of the Dickel in my hand yesterday and couldn't decide, so I put it back. How is it??

It's far better to be "killed" in a simulation than the real thing. Sim rounds hurt, too.

First, I really appreciate the candor and willingness to make yourself vulnerable to scrutiny like this. Much respect. Force on Force is an eye-opener for anyone who has never done it. I have had the opportunity to do it twice now and we ran multiple scenarios both times. In some scenarios I did fine, in others I cleared leather "too soon" and in two I got smoked by not clearing leather soon enough. Both times I got whacked were during the first time I ever did Force on Force training. The second time I did it, I cleared leather quickly on a few scenarios where it was ultimately warranted but the instructors felt like I did it prematurely. I was determined not to get shot. Honestly, it taught me that surviving any such encounter is going to be equal parts intuition, training and luck. The more of any of those that you can add to the mixture, the better off you are. The only one you really have any control over is the element of training. Intuition can be sharpened, but some people just don't have it. Luck is the cruelest of them all. The convenience store scenario is the only one that I watched given limited time, and I really don't have any constructive criticism to offer that you didn't offer on your own, on camera. When you looked away for that one moment the entire situation changed drastically for the worst. I can't say I wouldn't have done the same thing. But here's what I *will* say: We carry handguns, ultimately, for our own defense. We hope to be able to protect those that we love as well. To a much lesser degree we endeavor to try to protect others too. In that scenario, the shop keeper's luck ran out but you put rounds on bad-guy, saved other patrons, and "walked away" to analyze it later. That is a success in my book. I'd like to do some more Force on Force training myself, soon. Having seen the Shoot House at Royal Range in Bellevue today, I want it even more now.

Who wants TGO Laser Engraved Orca Chaser Coffee Mugs?

Thanks to all who ordered! I will be putting in the order with the vendor this morning. Ordering within our own store is now closed. -
Very sorry for your loss. We had to put down two dogs just a few months apart last year and both took their last breaths in our arms as well. It was difficult and emotional, but at least they knew we were there and loved them. You have my prayers.

It's pricey but we started buying Sonos units last Christmas and I want to add another Play.1 and Play.5 to the mix this year. We have a few Play.1's now and one Play.5.
