  1. The attorney in that video is making the same argument that was used for a bump stock…one pull of the trigger…that dog won’t hunt. He then goes on to tell us that he submitted it to TWO BATF agents….really?? That’s supposed to mean something? He also makes it very clear that this is his opinion. But here’s the good news…. let us know where they send you and I’ll toss some money in your commissary account every once in awhile.
  2. You would need machine guns for that. Even Texas won't sell you those.
  3. First let me say that I’ve only had one dealing personally with the BATF, and they were professional and helpful when the TBI was not. However, not only will it be up to the individual, but they clearly state on their website that their little BS “letters” do not have the weight of law. If a cop decides to arrest you for having an AR pistol with a brace, and the DA decides to pursue it, there is nothing to stop a Judge or jury from calling it a “stock” and sending you to prison. The worst case of that I ever saw was the bump stock fiasco. Some azz hat sitting behind a desk decided that it didn’t technically violate the law. Maybe not, but it clearly violated the intent of the law. And a judge could rule that way. A sick individual knocked out the windows of a high rise hotel and showed the world that a bump stock did in fact turn a semi-auto rifle into a machine gun. After that, some poor sap was going to go to prison on federal gun charges because he was unlucky enough to have a bump stock in his vehicle on a traffic stop. Don’t get be wrong; I think everyone should be able to own a machine gun. But if some BATF hack is going to make the decision that was made, it needs to have the weight of law. And it didn’t. That’s crazy. I haven’t followed the “brace” drama lately. But as far as I can tell there isn’t anything to keep someone from going to prison over it. And that’s crazy also.
  4. Can’t do it with gas, can’t do it with water….
  5. I’ll second that you should probably get rid of it due to your situation. The chances of it being an issue for you are slim. But I refuse to play games with BATF and I don’t have the citizenship issue; they don’t play fair and what’s good today may or may not be tomorrow. It appears to me Regina Lombardo is trying to send a clear message to Joe that she wants to keep her job and will do whatever it takes.
  6. Dang man, I had no idea I could leave you bad feedback when I hadn’t had a transaction….BRB…
  7. I locked you out. Try to be a kinder nicer, gentler Greg, and maybe you can get back in.
  8. That was my concern in my advisor changing. But my investments in my IRA change without them asking me. Although that may be because I told them to handle it. He does contact me every now and then, but its mainly just when a CD matures or something and he wants to discuss what to do. I may be wrong but it was my understanding he isn’t picking my investments; others are doing that.
  9. I mean no disrespect to you or anyone that enjoys doing that. But I have no desire to put in the work that would be required. Sure, the mechanics of it would be easy to learn; but keeping track of what’s going on with a particular stock wouldn’t be. What started me down this path is the fact that I believe Biden will seriously damage manufacturing, which in turn will seriously damage the economy and the market. I wanted to do something that would protect what I have and not be at the mercy of the azzhats that are preparing to take office and are shutting down the economy. They hate me, they hate you, and they hate anyone that doesn’t kiss the ring. I’ve considered cashing in my IRA and using the money to invest in things I can make money with. Guns is now out of the question, and collector cars haves taxes, insurance, etc. I brought up the idea to my wife of taking some cash I have and investing it myself. Cash that is not in my investments but is sitting doing nothing. But she thinks that’s a terrible idea. So…you are married, you know how that goes. But to hear you guys tell it my 23% return in a year from Edward Jones was terrible. So I may consider having a local invest some of that money that is just sitting. Hence… how do you choose someone? Seriously I would rather have a very good return on my money after fees, than have a huge return and do it myself.
  10. Good question. My WAG would be that the brace would be an individual NFA item, just as he wants to do with requiring every high capacity magazine you own to have a tax stamp. But I suspect he can’t add stuff to the NFA without an act of Congress; although he may try. I doubt he will let you crate an SBR for free. I suspect his first act will be to ban all private sales of firearms by EO. Of course that will probably immediately be stopped by a Federal Judge somewhere; then it would head to SCOTUS. I also expect to see a bill to outlaw the sale of AR’s. I doubt that will pass Congress whether or not the Dems get control. There are Dems that won’t get reelected if they get onboard with that. But I don’t think he, or the rest of them, really care what will pass. They only want to be able to say “We tried”. Your options would be up to you. I’m not doing anything that would allow me to be convicted of a felony.
  11. For those of you using, or who are, financial advisors; how do you determine an individual persons performance? Is that something they advertise or can be checked? When I expressed concerns to my new Edward Jones advisor about mine changing 3 or 4 times in five years, I asked if he made the choices or Edward Jones corporate did it? He said they did it and my results would not change because of a new advisor unless I told him to make changes. Other than the market changes of course.
  12. Dang man, can't complain about that.
  13. I’m not arguing, I’m asking because I’m unsure, what do you think he can do that Biden can’t undo on day 1?
  14. Absolutely. But it is the end of his term. We are about to get exactly what you claim the American people voted for. As both parties have said “Elections have consequences”. But I’ve accepted it Erik. Exactly as I said when folks were whining about things Obama did prior to Trump being elected; Obama became irrelevant the day he left office and everything was on Trump. Your boy Joe is in control the day he takes office. What he does with the Economy, Jobs, Business, Covid and Guns is on him. If he does great things; I’ll be the first to admit it. I’ll hurry up and wait right here.
  15. Absolutely! Crossing a state line is a big deal. And I want to read the state law on that states web site. I don’t want someone else interpreting it for me.
  16. Yes, that was pretty clear when all of this started. What hasn’t changed is that you have to look at each states laws, if they have a reciprocity agreement with Tennessee (They are listed on Tennessee web site), or their specific state laws. Let me give an example. I do most of my shooting on family land in Illinois. Prior to Illinois enacting their carry permits; I could not have a loaded gun in my vehicle. Now, even though they don’t have a reciprocity agreement with Tennessee, and I can’t carry; I can have a loaded gun in my vehicle in Illinois. They don’t address individual states, or types of permits. Their law is simply if you have a carry permit on your person, that allows you to carry in public in your home state (no states are listed); you can have a gun in your vehicle in Illinois. Once you exit that vehicle; it no longer applies. But both the HCP and the CCP meet that requirement. There may be states that differentiate their reciprocity agreement with Tennessee based on the type of permit, or they may specifically state HCP. Then you would need clarification from that state. I wouldn’t give up anything that allows more Tennessee residents to carry. I don’t care what another state does… I can’t.
  17. A lot?? I don’t think so. That was brought up a lot, but I haven’t yet see it happen; although it could. If people want to travel they need to go to the class, and get the HCP. The only changes I’ve remember seeing posted here where when some state (or maybe two?) changed their reciprocity with Tennessee when our HCP allowed under 21 to carry.
  18. I’m certainly no expert on Facebook, I only use it for family information. But I don’t get any ads on FaceBook. My wife uses it and when I was getting notifications a million times I day; I told her to deal with it. I don’t want Facebook notifying me of anything. The only ads I get is if someone posts something on my timeline they think I might be interested in. Its pretty amazing what Google knows about you, and can track though. Search yourself, addresses, phone numbers on Google and see what they know about you. Maybe its just paranoia, but when I see gun sale sites where the seller says they only respond to texts or phone calls, or when I'm selling something I get "please send pics to my phone; I can't do email"; I suspect they may be anti-gunners gathering information.
  19. I’m not sure what he wants Trump or the “White House” to do. Trump can’t do anything. It’s only “his BATF” for another month. Biden can undo anything he does on the first day. I expect EO’s out of Biden the first week. Didn’t he already make that threat? These are simply political stunts. Because “Short Barreled Rifles” are really a non-issue today. But because they are in the NFA and some dumb azz sitting behind a desk at the ATF decided to write a letter saying a brace is not a stock; owners will pay the price. I suspect it won’t be limited to the brace. I posted a video in another thread by Colin Noir about why you need to Believe Biden. I’ll add it here.
  20. You will also want a good inch pounds torque wrench if you don’t have one. I’ve got plenty of use out of my Wheeler FAT wrench. They have a new digital model I’m going to have to get. https://www.amazon.com/Wheeler-710909-Digital-Firearms-Accurizing/dp/B01B3NW5TG/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=Wheeler+FAT&qid=1608158772&sr=8-5
  21. In all seriousness I did want to try out a red dot for a target gun. I bought a M&P CORE PERFORMANCE CENTER in 9mm. I figured a 9mm would shoot through a target with a cardboard backer. Won’t it?? and 9MM was cheap… that’s no longer true. I put a Vortex Venom on it and had to put an Apex trigger in it before I even shot it; but it works fine. The venom doesn’t co-witness perfectly, that wasn’t a requirement for me. Changing the battery without removing the sight was. I wanted the Leupold Delta Point Pro, but they wouldn't mount to the M&P CORE. I recently put a Burris Fastfire 3 on a Ruger Mark IV, but I haven’t got to shoot it yet, and it looks like I might not for awhile.
  22. Are you kidding me? 28” vent ribbed shotguns are sold out right now.
