  1. The smarmy defense attorney that wiggins gets will trot out "mental defect" or some other such, and young Burch will be Colonel of the THP some time in the 2030's before wiggins gets injected, quietly. Do NOT misunderstand me. I am fully in agreement; with a preponderance of evidence, and the Constitutional requirement for a SPEEDY trial, wiggins should be given the short drop. Perfect irony would be to get him properly noosed, with an inverted wastebasket as the prop to be kicked away. Let it wait two hours, bring it down, and then hang her with the same noose. No need to waste. But that would be in a less error-prone world than the one which we live in presently. The leeway of the defense has stretched all out of reasonable shape these past few decades. Prison for him will be rougher with the guards. I imagine some of the general populace will laud him as a cop-killer and some will not like him for bringing on more heat. This Burch fellow did well. It's to be hoped he continues in such good service. I understand that this is the present commander of the THP's first week as commander. What a harsh trial by fire to start his command with. Hope he carries on well.
  2. I'm using Regions. They bought out Superior about a decade ago. Not too big, not too small.
  3. Double up on payments when you can if for no other reason than being that much closer to debtfree
  4. Trump, for all shortcomings, at least TRIES to be a Leader. BHO... less said.. SWC
  5. From what I have heard, when Paulson did the forced loan thing in 2008(?) BofA was not only first in line, but has went back for seconds. Oddly, Fargo, with all their problems of late, was the first to pay back. I would not bet against BofA being one of their guys recommending to Fat Bill to repeal Glass-Steagall, either. The branch near where I lived in Vegas closed up their drive-thrus back in 2007, didn't fly national colors since 2011, and even removed the colors that were in the lobby in 2016. I had to give my name to go up to one of their cashiers to buy a roll of quarters for my laundry, and told the snooty little baggage that took my name where to go, how to get there, and chided her for daring to call such a thing "customer service". Regions does me fine. They didn't give me a ration of crap when I pulled cash for my Anderson. When I was pulling money out of WF $600 in 20s per day, they didn't give me a problem about cashing it into 100's. THESE people know customer service proper. SWC
  6. Many I have had the honor of knowing in a half-century have made it clear: Come at me or mine with intent to kill, and you will be treated the same. Killing in self-defense or in defense of family should not fall under murder. An ex-prison guard I served with told me that what 'easy' time there was behind bars generally went to those who killed only in defense. Back to our decorative AR-10 toter, though... for all the threats she's garnered, I wouldn't doubt that she has got more than a few praises and maybe an offer of matrimony or two. I'd not be surprised, if she were not an NRA member, that she had offers of membership. ILA needs to keep tabs on such a good sharp mind, too. Ah, to be 30 years younger than I am now... but with all the experience of my 56 years. SWC
  7. Back on point... It seems that the NRA isn't spending the MOST money... but more rather is spending it BETTER. Not perfect... I leave perfection to Eternal beings. But liberal lobbyists just flinging money versus the NRA, who has a whole mindset about good targeting, gets things done better with less.
  8. And it seems not even a competent one, having her notoriety from her heritage, as opposed to any skills. The former is guesswork, as I am in my mid-fifties and not inclined to waste valuable time watching such. The notion of a functional firearm being used as a decoration... eww.
  9. You're showing charity for calling that sort of thinking "logic". And that looks a whole lot like a hunting shotgun, judging by the long barrel length and comparatively short magazine tube. Not the sort of thing I'd choose for home defense. (My personal preferences for such are posted elsewhere in this site.) Perhaps not bought for HD, then, but as prep for this whole surrender stunt? Mind, that would be (in these instantaneous times) a fairly long-term bit of planning. And a bit sophisticated. Maybe that's the BA in History from UTEP leaking in. SWC
  10. The Beirut-born miss has been incommunicado with her family. From wikipedia: "In a statement, her parents disassociated themselves from her actions, saying that her decision to enter the porn industry was born of her residence in a foreign country which had a different culture than theirs, and that her actions did not reflect her upbringing. They also said that they hoped that she would leave pornography, saying that her image did not honor her family or her home country." WIki stated that family and herself were Catholic, altho she is not a practicing member at this time. As to honoring family... that has creepy tones in and of itself.
  11. And she's apparently gotten death threats for her stance. How brave the left is... not. My only criticism is the rig she was wearing. Is it just being some distracted, or shouldn't it be faced magazine pointed left? SWC
  12. I managed to extract my few pics from the bucket with little fuss, and have them on a stick here. Being of an untrusting nature, save for Murphy being able to put his hand on things, any imagery I value is in multiple places. The bucket will sell out eventually. I give it another 5 years, tops. Tough for them, but pulling ambushes on your users like that, you tend to have that coming. SWC
  13. Virtue-signalling definitely, an attempt to resuscitate her career in as disgustingly p/c a fashion as possible, likely. Nothing she did or had done to her on the adult screen could, IMO, possibly be as filthy as this. Congratulations, little girl; ethically speaking, you've pretty much jumped the shark, I think. SWC, disgusted in Franklin County
  14. Walmart gun seller here. You get what you pay for, people. The shotgun we carry, that I most want, is a Mossberg 535 in 12 ga., chambered for 3.5". For only ~$30-40 more than their baseline 500, I get a shotty that can fire most everything in the civvy inventory, with a more robust action. And if I get the hankering for home defense, I go online and order a drop in 22" barrel. Base pre tax n bkgd check is $287 out here.
  15. Curse the statisticians that point out the seeming rarity of school shootings. It damned well will NOT be of any concern or comfort for the dead kids' families. As I have said before... under the reign of the BHO regime, I worried mightily if THIS event or THAT event was going to be the last straw that would kick the country into martial law. Now... just another sick feeling of things crumbling underfoot.
  16. Vanes on the inside of the barrel, like a tumbling clothes dryer, made of old barrel staves? And do scotch and whisky suffer from being needed to be stock still while aging?
  17. PO'ing liberals... when PO'ed, one tends to make mistakes. Put. Lt. Col West up in there, he's already on the Board of Directors.
  18. Underlining and bolding mine. Changes do occur over time, people. Everyone seems to forget that. Reagen, at one time, was a Democrat. I mean, look. I know damned well I am not going to change anyone's mind in this august forum. But it would be nice to have a moment to sit down and think, before pulling a Bork or a Stormy Daniels on a decorated and blooded Marine. And if you have a notion as to an alternative, how 'bout we hear it? SWC
  19. Seem to recall that brown was virtue-signaling and buttkissing the gungrabbers at a huge rate post-Parkland, and that FedEx wasn't. I'm sticking with USPS and FedEx. SWC
  20. That's PAST doubling down, that's like tonsillitis..."Your tonsils, they guard your throat... anything bad comes in they fight it off. With tonsillitis, they have not only lost the war, they have went over and joined the other side" Can't remember the comedian... I wonder how much Handgun Control Incorporated slipped them to do this?
  21. Can't recall the # of times Carson City BATFE called us about a 4473 with the name, weapon and time frame... that WE had to dig through and send a fax of back to them. (Retail FFL holders are required to maintain the copy of the 4473 for twenty years onsite.) Have absolutely no doubt, No Such Agency has NICS checks sitting in storage someplace. They probably think all they are doing is being a Federally funded Iron Mountain Group (a libel, I fear, against a very reputable and steady firm, for which I apologize.)
  22. Pardon a dumb Yankee.. but if you had a covey that had a regular run, why not just stick a few wire snares in the run and spook then through it? On fire ants and coyotes... I'd thought that there had been bred up a fire ant type that weakens colonies. ANd I thought TWRA had the sense to no-limit coyote?
  23. Correct in effect, but here, not so much in amount. Simply put, get the 2016 presidential result maps by county. Draw lines from the center of the very bluest counties to the center of the nearest very reddest. That's the direction the filth will try to spread. The first all out bans will, of course, be authored by Don Cuomo and moonbeam. The next four will be Oregon, Washington, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. Oddly enough, even after 36 years of that whiny little puke Reid, and 12 of that reverse carpetbagger Titus, I don't see a ban in Nevada for a good long while, even with its being so close to the ethical open sewer of Cali. But as to here... unless the country stops spiraling down the drain, TN will get a state AWB. I maintain it will take longer, and be poorly followed, owing to so many taking the darn things across the many lakes and rivers and having capsizings. I prophesy that Home Depot/Menards/Lowes etc will have nationwide runs on 6-8" PVC pipe and caps after the first ban. Of course, I could be whistling past the graveyard, so to speak... a trite explanation, save that I live at this time quite literally across the street from one. Andersen/Heritage this week, Heaven approving. SWC
