  1. Was the issue for her the way the gun balanced (top heavy, front heavy, both), the shape of the grip, the reach for her finger to the trigger?
  2. I was thinking I might stop off at my local and ask them to check stock if they're not busy.
  3. I saw that. The 327 would be tempting, but I'm facing barriers of coin and space.
  4. They make the SP101 in .327 federal now. New price looks to be between $550 and $650, 6 roundd and can be had with 3" or 4" barrel. Can go from mild .32 long loads to close to .357 magnum.
  5. The bolded part above makes it seem like a gun has to be locked in a container affixed to the vehicle if you leave it.
  6. This is what I was thinking of: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montana_Firearms_Freedom_Act This is also something to keep an eye on: https://missoulian.com/news/local/missoula-judge-denies-ag-fox-s-motion-to-reopen-gun/article_886efa91-1d98-5f5a-a9b2-da4216fa06f0.html
  7. I'll be interested to see how this plays out. This also reminded me of a case (from MT maybe?) where people were making the argument that the Feds couldn't regulate something to do with guns or gun sales if the gun(s) never left the state. Does that ring any bells with anyone else? Anyone know how that turned out?
  8. Is the trigger different than on their standard SA revolver?
  9. CZ. They make outstanding firearms, and have for quite a while now.
  10. It's not totally out of the realm of possibility that you might tag some squirrels or turkeys with that truck...
  11. "No, really, new guy. This is the way we always set it up. Now get up there and yank the lanyard!"
  12. It might be worth a call to your local ATF field office to ask if there's any way to speed up the passing of information between government bodies in order to lower the chances of a false denial.
  13. "I’m not here to take away your guns, I just don’t want you to be shot by someone who shouldn’t have a gun in the first place.” Hillary Clinton
  14. If you like to and have time for reading, it's actually the second book in a trilogy. From Here to Eternity is first (mostly just before the war) The Thin Red Line is second (at war) and Whistle is third (their war is mostly over). Since they're a trilogy rather than a series, you don't really need to read them all, or even in order. I enjoyed the second two more than the first.
  15. I don't really remember details of The Thin Red Line, but this and Saving Private Ryan made me think of it. I'm positive many of you have better memory than I do, anyone remember details of The Thin Red Line?
  16. I'm happy to hear of your good CS experience. (Though maybe better to not have needed it in the first place...) Whatever you choose, enjoy your new pistol!
  17. http://www.gotavapen.se/gota/artiklar/rifles_se/faq_se_rifles.htm Like others have said, if you're happy with the trade, then you did fine. If the rifles were in similar condition, I'd say you got the better end of the deal. If you want to hunt with it, Hornady has some good offerings. They use that caliber for moose in Scandehoovia, so it should be good for most critters in North America as well.
  18. I think it was more like 9. Like any movie, it's not 100% accurate. Overall, the ending seemed to be a pretty well done extended gun fight to me. For the record, I have as much experience in gun fights as probably most of the people on this site: none.
  19. Changing a tire the hard way!
  20. So, to maybe extend the original post while trying to stay within the spirit, does anyone have any specific recommendations for things they wish they had included in their workbench/ work space? Or maybe something they have, but wouldn't include again if they were startng from scratch?
  21. If you're qualified, why the concern about an audit?
  22. Fuel consumption gauge is a common misconception. It's actually a reverse fun-o-meter. The shorter it is, the more fun you're likely to be having.
