  1. I am.   I plan to contact a few folks and see if anyone wants to ride with me.   Low light training/shooting is a very rare opportunity. Couple that with Randy's expertise? It's a no-brainer for me.
  2. I hate to hear that about Predator Custom. Darn!   I have a 686 that needs a bit of internal work. I'll be following for suggestions.
  3. I'm sorry to hear this.   Bowie was a unique artist. His various "personalities" such as Ziggy Stardust and Aladin Sane were very unique musically. I still enjoy his music. RIP Major Tom.
  4. That's a great price peejman! Same here, much less than I paid for mine as well. If I didn't already 2 I'd jump on this.
  5. Welcome aboard...   Your name's a handful!   :pleased:
  6. Welcome to the community Bullet. :hat:   Quite a few of us are transplants but, by God's Good Grace, call Tennessee home.   Glad to have you on board.
  7.     This is in line with my handloading cost as well. Free range brass definitely helps!
  8. For Sportsman's Guide...the shipping on the Wolf Gold is $19.99 (I just checked as I am a member there)...but Sportsman's Guide sends a $10.00 redeemable within a few months for $10.00...so the actual shipping for members that place regular orders there is $9.99. That's actually not too bad. If I can do the math this early that about $0.32/round shipped.
  9.   Decent pricing and I have had noting but positive experiences with SGammo. I like this round as well.
  10.     Sage advice from shotgunshooter!   A Hillary potential is real. I, like many here, suffered through the Clinton era ban and it sucked. I saw normal capacity Glock mags sell for $50.00 each, "Happy Sticks" for $100.00 each +. Etc, etc...   Mags are pretty darned cheap and still readily available... and they are the disposable part of the system. There is no reason to think the assault on our Second Amendment will ever ease my friends....Hillary or not. :2cents:
  11. I have 2 of the Big Buddy heaters and love 'em.   A couple of winters ago we hit zero minus degrees and it overwhelmed the power system in the Knoxville area in the middle of the night. It was nice to fire one up in the living room, fire one up in the garage (keep my water pipes from freezing up) and put a pot of coffee on to brew on my propane stove.   The Big Buddy's put out a good deal of heat. I wouldn't mind one of the smaller units, but will definitely hang on to the 2 I have.
  12. Well I obviously need another Shield if both hipower & musicman own 2 each!    I actually would like to have a second...one in the belt and one in the pocket seems more balanced anyway. :pleased:
  13. The magguts looks intriguing...please post back as to the reliability/feeding when you guys have the opportunity.    I own a box-stock 9mm Shield and find it an incredibly easy shooting little gun, and extremely comfortable to carry...either AIWB or offside pocket carry in my Carharrt jeans.   A bud owns a G 43 and uses the Taran Tactical mag extensions. I've fired it several times and it's a great shooting gun. He did have to replace the plastic sites and put a lighter disconnector in it...his preference...but it does shoot better now.   Another bud had his daughter's XDs 9mm out with us the other day as he is trying to decide which one he wants to purchase. After shooting all 3 he decided on the Glock 43.   I prefer my Shield of the 3. btw...my Shield ran about $365.00 shipping, TICS, tax and all...   Point is, if you can try each of them out it would be of benefit to you. The "feel" is a very subjective thing. Cost is another matter.   Keep us posted on you choice and/or impressions.
  14. Heck...you can do that with a Glock..you just gotta try harder! :pleased:   I double charged a 45 acp...11.4 grs of Win 231 and destroyed my Glock 21. It was in the late 1990's. Bulged the barrel and slide, split the frame and blew the plastic off the trigger...and ejected my mag pretty hard. But I got my shot ! and no injuries!   Yes we handloaders should call it a good day when we have all our digits..because all it takes is a moment of focused inattention to do what I did. My fault alone...   Glock replaced my pistol btw...they knew it was a handload and wanted to examine the "remains". Good customer service imho.
  15. I usually use SGAmmo and Sportsman's Guide. No complaints with either.
  16. I've been running a Dillon 550 since about 1986. Dillon's customer service is nothing short of remarkable. They refurbished it last year and I essentially have a new press.   At best guess I've handloaded about 25 K of 9mm on it the past 2 years alone.    :2cents:
  17. btq...My favorite rendition of Choen's Hallelujah was done by the late Jeff Buckley.   But the version David linked is pretty darned awesome imho and very fitting for today.   I hope you have a good day btq. I always appreciate your input and perspectives.
  18. God Bless and Merry Christmas Dustbuster.   Well said, and yes...Christ is the reason! And we are truly Blessed this day.   Good wishes to all.
  19. David, That is an incredible, and beautiful, rendition of Hallelujah. Thank you for sharing that and I will definitely share it with my family today.   Merry Christmas to my TGO "family" and I pray for a Happy and Blessed day for you all. But a special Prayer goes out for our men and women serving in our Armed Forces both here and abroad. Thank you for the sacrifices you make each and everyday so that we can enjoy the freedoms and lives we live.
  20. I've carried in the Police Department at Norris. It's not posted and the officers, which handle the range up there, don't have any problem with it.   But that's apples vs oranges. I know a couple of the officers and a previous one was a shooting buddy.   I would never consider dressing up like a mall-ninja idiot and pulling a stunt like linked. Just wanted to say it's not illegal in all cases.
  21.     LOL. It's no secret my friend.   Thanks to the guidance and help from folks here at TGO, like Caster and Dolomite, our little group of 4 cast, powder coat, group/bulk purchase components and load our own. We share the processes and share in the savings. Community, not communism LOL.   If I can be of any assist in any way please don't hesitate to ask, or PM me. I'm glad you are venturing into handloading. It's a great skill to develop.   btw...I'm in West Knoxville and shoot regularly at ORSA.
  22. I'm liking it! Heck, I refinished and painted my decks over the past few weeks. And yep, I need to cut the grass as well.   It's confusing the heck out of my fruit tress though...the apple and peach trees are starting to bud out....
  23. A "Season Citizen" and Sharp to boot! Thank you Ron. You've brightened this old fart's day.
  24. I just renewed and have encouraged friends to do the same.   I'm also a member of GOA, Knife Rights and NFA Freedom.   I'm not certain how much it helps, but at least it gives me "bitichin'" rights...
  25. With liberals it's always about "feelings". Logic, Law, precedence, and common sense doesn't enter into their thought processes and they always want "Daddy Government" to change your behavior.   That said, it's all the more reason to have silencers/suppressors removed from the NFA. A suppressor and a privacy fence should make for good neighbors... :2cents:
