That looks like a roll pin for the extractor. Can you tap it flush? It should then be all but flush on the underside of slide. If it is sticking out on the bottom when flush on top, it may be too long for the optic cut. But my guess is it will be flush at the bottom once flush at the top.

for certian look for markings (14k, 18k, Sterling, etc.). If there are probable diamonds or precious stones, they will not likely be in a cheap setting but will likely be set in 14k or 18k gold. GF (gold filled) jewlery might have precious stones (diamonds, rubys. emeralds, etc.) but more likely they will be semi-precious stones. If the setting looks cheap, it probably is, However, something that looks real may still be good costume jewlery. Heck, some costume jewlery, if it is vintage, can still be worth something.

Since you are not using the FFL to transfer the firearm and do all the background stuff, maybe they will start offering the shipping services for a nominal fee. It will for sure be a revenue stream, but you are basically just using the name and address.
