I'm not sure of your age, but if you go back a bit further, there were very few deer in Middle Tennessee. Here, it often got mentioned in the local newspaper if someone claimed to have seen one. I'm not sure about juvenile season, but otherwise, I don't believe you were allowed to kill a doe at all at one time. By the time I began deer hunting, well over 20 years ago, they were in the midst of a restocking program, and the population was beginning to grow. I hunted several seasons without ever seeing a single deer. The thought was that one buck could service many does. The more does, the more potential fawns, which in turn grew the population. Aside from a nice buck, I actually prefer to take a doe now, because they are at near maximum capacity.

The first show they had there was pretty big. A lot of vendors had things like high end knives, that just didn't sell in Westmoreland. It has since become smaller, but in my opinion is still worth a look. I'll be there. I've found several good deals from individuals there.

I drew mine by hand, because I no longer have a copy of Autocad. I'm not sure why people pay so much for home plans. It isn't that big a deal to do yourself if you know what you want.

But me; not so much. :ugh: I ordered some new ones.

I guess I'm either in the wrong place, or else I missed it and someone will need to point it out to me. I do appreciate the link. That'll be handy for several things.

Thank you for the quick answer. Could you possibly cite the law that states this? I don't really know where to begin to look.

Looks like a great job to me. Speaking as a fellow leather worker, it also looks like a LOT of work went into it.

Good one!

Would anyone here know if one could receive a ticket for having license plate lights that do not work? My son was rear ended yesterday, and the only damage to his truck was that the lights that illuminate the license plate were knocked out. I'm not interested in replacing them unless there is a legal reason to do so. Thanks in advance for your help.

Would someone in the Belle Meade area please stop by Al Gore's house and kick his a$$ for me? :wall:

When we dug our basement, I had the loader guy dump one load of dirt where I wanted a backstop. It has worked well for almost 12 years now. I don't have a good picture of it handy, but I set two poles in concrete in front of it, and framed my target backing to the poles. Probably 8' wide x 8' long x 5' high.

I'm in. I hate cleaning a muzzleloader. -
Wow. I haven't seen an Ashley wood stove in a long time. That sure brings back memories.

I like that.....the wife wouldn't approve, however. -
Cool. I couldn't see the pic very good on my old school flip phone. Be sure and show us the finished product.

Me too. I think it was $100 for my oldest son, and went up to $200 when my little one came along. Great deal.

I didn't see anything I wanted to shoot, but look what my old man had with him when he stopped by the house this morning! Good rack, but it's positively the largest, fattest Tennessee whitetail I've ever seen in person. I had no means to weigh it, but I feel certain it was very close to 200lbs dressed.

Would you care to explain it for those of us who've never participated in such a thing? Thanks for the description. I'm out. I don't think I'd b e very good at it.

Yep. Stay out of WalMart. Problem solved. :usa:

Newly constructed state and federal routes have a stated design speed based on standard engineering practices, but your average county road started life as a deer trail, then a horse trail, buggy, etc. I can't remember if it was Tennessee, Metro Nashville, or who, exactly, but I seem to remember a change in protocal a few year back on high speed traffic pursuits because of the danger of it. I expect some of the leo here have a more vivid recollection of this than I.
