  1. Good call. Bad comes to worse, you can at least sit back and enjoy TEOTWAWKI!
  2. After 40+ years in the hobby, I have a couple. 1) You will never write down too much information. Keep a reloading/shooting journal for each caliber and or firearm. A younger me thought I would always remember X. Wrong!!!! Write it down and put it where you can find it. 2) If you see it for sale and think there is a chance you might ever be able to use it, take it home with you. I’ve never once wished I had less reloading supplies. What have you got to add???
  3. The weather outside is frightful, so we’re canning pinto beans today. I think we’re the missing link between hillbilly and prepper. Anybody got any innovative canning ideas?
  4. I’ve never purchased from them. According to their website, they have part of what I want and the rest is out of stock. Do they have a storefront, or just mail order?
  5. The frustrating thing is that I want a couple bricks of primers and three or four pounds of powder. I’d pay the hazmat fee if one place had it all in stock. But they don’t that I can find. 4 or 5 separate shipping and hazmat charges would sting!
  6. ...you could just walk into the store and buy whatever you came in looking for? That was awesome!!!
  7. Or go to the bank and get a stop payment issued if paid by check.
  8. I’d have a hard time signing on to that.
  9. I see little more than election year posturing. I’ve been wrong before though.
  10. Well, you don’t roll it out then pull it up like a sock.
  11. Funny thread, but seriously, good job! More kids could use good parents.
  12. It tells me most government employees suck. There are a few good ones, but they rarely draw attention to themselves. Just reaffirms what I've already witnessed my entire life.
  13. Definitely not a subject I’d be discussing on a public Internet forum.

Mother in law’s water line froze and burst in her bathroom. House was built in the 30’s maybe, and plumbed as an after thought. Me and 2 brother in laws spent all day working on it. Not fixed. Maybe tomorrow. Bath and sink drains also rotted we discovered. No room to work. This chit sucks!!! I’m only glad I’m physically able to help. You couldn’t give me an old house unless I could bulldoze it and sell the lot. Ease of future maintenance was foremost in my mind when I designed our house. Whoever built this one; not so much! I’m only telling you this to say if you see an old house for sale and think “It would be cool to renovate this” to move on!

That’s how I roll. It would appear my little nuts (kids) didn’t fall far from the tree either. 4wd is plan B. Until it is needed, I’m having fun with it.

We try to pick out one vehicle for to drive while the roads are salted. That way I don’t have three to clean up afterwards. You are right about the change in vehicles. When I was a kid, every farmer I knew somehow got by with a half ton, 2WD pickup. Today it appears you need a diesel 4x4 just to drive past a farm. We had one neighbor who rented out his bull. That thing would get in and out of the truck bed by himself. I guess he liked his job. Lol!

There used to be a commercial for the Beetles where the announcer asked “You ever wonder how the guys who drive the snow plows get to work?” Then it pans to a parking lot full of Beetles. I always thought that was pretty clever.

Where I grew up, a 4WD was all but a necessity. i could easily get by without one now, but old habits dies hard.
  21. Pro tip: Don’t stand next to anyone shooting clays with a ported shotgun! Wow.

I dunno, Erik. I shoveled the patio clean and dry. Then it rained. It is the slickest thing around here now. Unless you just wanted the exercise, I think you might just be ahead this go round.
