  1. Dang it all! I just picked up a couple of Moon Pie snack boxes. Little suckers are about right for 5 good bites!
  2. Yup!!! And loaded with about 1,000,000 calories. At least my teeth think that. lol If I eat one, or about anything with that much concentrate sugars...I have a couple of teeth that will ache. But, dang it all...they are good.
  3. I certainly would hope not. I do think that...I wish you hadn't brought that up, not that I pause for a moment. My first thought was no. We, as the most likely purchasers of said item, would not do such a thing. It would be illegal as before. Whether or not a firearm is/was suppressed; shooting rounds inside the city limits, Metropolitan Davidson County, or any area where firearms in general at not to be used, shot, or carried. But...and there's always that but. I'm sure some wannabe secret agent would somehow get a 22 firearm that's threaded and do exactly what you question. Then there is the possibility of it being used on one of those EBR's and really set off the other side. That's a lot to think about though. I really, really would like to think all would go well; but the pessimist in me thinks otherwise. How about some input from you other guys on bud's question.
  4. All I can say is....!
  5. My tech skills are really, really bad. Not kidding. I got an email from them this afternoon. If you like, send me a pm here with your email account, and I'll send it to you.
  6. Aim Surplus has Anderson lowers at 39.99 right now. Not a great deal lower than you stated, but maybe get some guys to buy with you.
  7. Wonder what sort of carry/protective bag it would have to fit in? I don't think it would(just guessing) in the supplied bad with some of the Rugers.

    TLP-22

Looks like it. A fine line at the end of the barrel. That should be the thread cap.
  9. Well stated.
  10. Ok...I think I like it. I just added another one to my wish list. I have a couple of 10/22s, but no take-down model. Maybe I'll get into it...or maybe not. Too much else ahead of another 22 rifle. lol
  11. In response to your suppressor comments, it's a very individual thing. I've always liked them. Some do. Some don't. I'm pretty sound sensitive, and have had ear and hearing problems all my life. Good hearing protectors help, and I rarely ever shoot without them. I got addicted years ago when I shot a suppressed 9 pistol. It was fantastic! I am like you with the aversion to the stamp and the cost, but I did purchase a Ruger 22/45 when they first came out. It was set up like you described, with a can with it. It wasn't as cheap as you mentioned, but I did go ahead and deal with it. And yes I hated the full 9 month wait I had with it. I won't say the whole deal and time and money involved wasn't a real pita at the time, but I have enjoyed the suppressor immensely. I have a couple 22 pistols and a 10/22 rifle and it really makes for a great time to use only foam plugs or nothing at all outside. If all comes to pass as we've been talking about, I'd love to have one for a larger caliber pistol. Why? I can't really give you a valid reason, except to say I like them and want another.
  12. When I was working, I spent about 1300 at 3 different times. Seemed that it worried me so much that I sold all of them pretty quickly. I managed to get exactly what I paid on 2 of them, and darn close on the third. These days, if and when I buy, I would have to say 600 is my limit.
  13. I attend regular meetings of our neighborhood association, and we have the Captain and Public Affairs Officer from the local station at each meeting. All the routine, and sometimes not, crimes are covered in their reports. And the subject of cars left running for all sorts of reasons are brought up regularly. Car theft is high on the list of reasons to not leave it running, no matter what the reason. So that alone should be enough to deter doing this. Also...leaving a running car unattended, even in your own driveway, can get you ticketed. A misdemeanor ticket if I remember correctly. But, being the troublemaker I am I had to ask about the auto start/run functions that leave the cars locked and only run for a specified time. (10 minutes on our Chevys) This feature, and I know I'm not telling all you guys anything new here, supposedly will not allow the vehicle to move without the keys being inserted. Though I've wondered if a good thief could break the steering column lock and the cars dive away? Again, in theory, mine will disable itself after the warmup period, or if the lock is monkeyed with. According to my salesman anyway. I've not tried to find out. Back to my point, if your vehicle has this feature, and in your drive, we would not be ticketed. Sorry, just bored and rambling this afternoon.
  14. That sums it up well for me. I'd love to have almost every one I see. It's just not possible. Not enough money at any time for that.
  15. I'm very happy to hear your breeder's response, for both of you. Sounds like a man who cares for his animals.
  16. I agree. What little gritty feel mine had was removed by removing the trigger and finding a tiny little hump/burr(?) on the side. Smoothed it out, reinstalled and all is great.
  17. First reciepient of TGO's 2017 Darwin Award Winners!
  18. I'm stunned, and saddened for you. And I pray for Ellie as well. Such a little sweetheart deserves a life. Not at all saying anything against you, Hozzie. I know this was a terrible decision to make.

    Wheel gun itch

Amen, brother! My wife still looks at me and shakes her head when I mention buying another. Get all the usual why? questions. lol If it weren't a bit tight right now, I'd have several more on the way.

    Wheel gun itch

Sweet! Makes me want another wheelie! But as I've said before...My Smith Model 19s and the Ruger GP100 is really all I need. Notice I said need...not want. lol
  21. If you are doing all the basics, I believe you won't have a problem with Ellie "going" inside. As she seems to have learned that outside is her potty place, I think you'll find that she will not "go" inside unless an absolute emergency or sick. Our Molly has had one inside episode in her 8 years, and that because I didn't react fast enough when she was still a puppy. She was standing at the door whining and I didn't get there in time. Little girl was so embarrassed. Now, she has been sick a couple of times inside, but always in the same place, a hallway rug outside the bathroom. It's as if she telling us this is where we go, so she will use it as well. But she always seems so ashamed that it happens inside. Really...she will come to one of us with her head down and tail tucked, like she expects to be scolded or punished. I swated her once as a puppy with a plastic flyswatter, tapping he across the butt for some incident I can't even remember. Till this day, if I even pick up the swatter to go after a fly, she will drop and cower as if she's about to be punished. These little critters have a tremendous memory! And about the most affectionate dog I have ever seen. I even hate to refer to Molly as a dog. She gets spoken to, and treated like a person. And I swear that she understands us. More responsive to talk, I really hate to say commands, than other dogs, and even the children in our neighborhood. You already love her, that shows. But you will be amazed at how close you'll get to Ellie. Yes, I'm one who considers our little companions, friends, and sometimes protectors almost human; and definitely a very close family member.
  22. Well said, Red.
  23. She's a beauty, buddy. Already got that little sideways cut of the eyes going. lol You'll be amazed at how quickly her personality develops.
  24. You probably already know the drill, but... Take'em out to potty when they wakeup...when they eat...and when they play. The Aussies/Heelers/border Collies are all very, I repeat very intelligent. So they learn quickly. And I think as much as any other dog, maybe more so, they love to be praised. Praise is almost as good as a treat when training. They just seem to love pleasing you.
  25. Ellie is gorgeous! We have a mixed Aussie/Border Collie and Molly is awesome. She's now 8 years old and has us well trained.
