Well...just to add to the confusion. lol I expressed reservations in an earlier post about the "auto closing slide" that goes home when a mag is inserted. But in talking about it today with another gun guy, I was told that it was the best thing since sliced bread. My words, not his there. He stated that this feature had been around since the 80's in different pistols, but didn't name any at the time. My point is that although I might not be initially fond of the idea, some seem to like the feature.

Thanks...I did.

And somewhat related here...I've never really understood why we celebrate a birth(of Jesus Christ) by killing a tree. Yes, I can see some of the symbolism of sacrifice involved here; but it just always seemed wrong to me. And yes, I do use an artificial tree every year. So I guess that has a bit of Freudian symbolism as well. lol Oh well...back to the commercialism of Christmas. And a Merry Christmas to you all!

Thanks. Good comments. I've owned several M&P pistols, like you, but never tried an optic setup on one. Hopefully in the future I will get there. I applaude your dedication to the 40. I have several and like the round in various guns. My all time favorite would have to be the G24 and in an old Taurus PT100.

Thanks. That will clearly show what we've been discussing.

Nothing's louder than silence when you're expecting your gun to go bang, or vice versa." This is the part that bothers me most here. "Well said. Perhaps it's just me, but this doesn't really appeal to me as anything more than a range toy...at the moment. As people who know me can guess, that could easily change after getting hold of the P10.

I really appreciate your comments here. Dad had a Trooper for several years and it was his favorite pistol for a while. I don't know what happened to it, whether sold or traded, but it sure seemed pretty good to me in my teens. Currently, I do prefer the M19 Smiths over the Rugers, but not by much. lol I've been blessed to have been able to shoot a great many, and own a few, of these old wheel guns. They are beginning to be appreciated again.

Braggart! lol I have never had any contact with the C.O.R.E. series of pistols. Are the radically different/better than the standard M&P9? But I must admit to having a desire for the M&P9L myself. But currently, that desire will have to wait. Financially...I'm just not able to buy for a while longer.

Thanks for the clarification, sir. It may be that I've encountered this before, but I don't actually remember it. At first thought, I'm not sure this "feature" really appeals to me. Just seems like a potential for an AD to me. I can see that one could make the point that in a combat situation this would be a time saving feature. But still leaves me a bit less enthused about it. Oh well, lots of guns have features I don't care for; so maybe this will not cause me trouble. Just have to wait and see.

Congratulations! I am soooo very envious. She looks great!

I noticed something while watching this video. The reviewer mentioned an "auto-forward" feature, that releases the slide when a mag is inserted. Am I just way behind in pistol features? I'm not awake this morning, we had a long night watching for high winds and water rising. So is this something new, or am I just really, really out of the loop on this? EDIT for more comments. The more I see on this pistol, the more intrigued I become. Most of the videos I see refer to the lesser muzzle flip/rise from the P10, and it does seem very noticeable in this video.

Post the last firearm related thing you bought!

Sure....I believe you. And like I needed more mags. I just got 10 FDE Troy Battlemags, so I can match them to the FDE rifle I wanted to get started on. 6 Hex mags to out is some different colors. -
Both absolutely beautiful guns! I have the WC SP101 and love it. But it sure does need its big brother alongside it in the safe.

Wheels are for real!! Shooting a wheel gun is what started my gun life. Dad let me shoot his 6" 38 target gun. No model number on it. He always told me it date back to early 50's. I've never(foolishly) researched it. Just shoot it and enjoy it. And of course, never letting it go. Too many memories in it. Sorry, got side-tracked. I shoot auto loaders quite a bit, but for pure fun, I just break out a 66 or a 19. It really doesn't get any better than that for wheel guns. No offense meant to the Ruger guys. I like some of them too.

I'm going to try and make it out. I'll look for you if I do. -
That single action holster is fantastic!

Well, it's good to know I wasn't just out there alone in my thinking. lol My wife came in and as we watched the evening news, she had several choice comments about his little speech as well.

Is anyone else vomiting while listening to the CBS Special Report with O speaking on the future of the Democrat party? I actually was napping and awoke to the liar-in-chief blathering on about all the recent things that have not gone right for the Dems. He so far, has cast doubts on the elections, the process of the elections, the influence of foreign propagandists on the election, the propagandists of the tv, newspapers, internet, and radio talk shows. Pretty much accused them all of taking the "lies" and false reports about the "leaked" information from all sources and running with it to further cast doubt on the "party out of power." Saying that all these things are being used to further divide the country and take them away from the good and knowledgable people in office. That the devision in the country is because we are believing "false" news reports being fed to us by the news media. Well...he is right about the news media, They are all giving us lies from the current administration. I know I'm only hitting a few points, I really can't remember all the bull####(pardon me but that's exactly what it is) he is spewing. He just has to get at least one more time in to further his cause of destroying and ripping this nation apart. Sorry, I'm not usually so impulsive in posting things like this, but I am so frustrated and angered by this pack of lies in a suit that I've lost it today.

And to deny that business the amount of sales and/or profits from dealing with said business. Sort of a personal boycott if you will.

You won't go wrong with the CZ75B. I've owned several and been very happy with them. So much so I only have 2 of them now. lol
-
I had the opportunity to buy a couple of these. I wish I had.
-
Well...at least the pics are correct. lol

Yes, even my pitiful skills are made to seem better with the Smith&Wesson revolvers. But I have to say my favorite is a tossup between a Model 66 and a Model 19. Both are just fantastic! So sweet to shoot.
-
That's my problem. lol I find old, and newer, Smiths a lot. But usually at the wrong times. I have a few from 60 to early 80's and love them.

Smith & Wesson... . Great find. I'm sort of partial to them myself.
