  1. Lester, my comment was directed more toward his general works than a specific story. I'll try to find the book/story that really stood out for me and let you know. Most of my remaining Heinlein books are packed away at the moment.   The majority were lost in the 2010 flooding, and I've not replaced them as yet.
  2.   Really good pricing. I paid  then current retail for mine. Of course that was in the days of the mad rush for them last year.   What did you use as a polishing agent when you did your M&P? May have to try that with my 9c, it's a little stiff as well.
  3.  Dang that's beautiful!
  4. With ammo costs still higher than I like, it's better.   The receipt showed 329/1000. Not bad.
  5. Speaking of 45acp, major; I've been cleaning up my storeroom/tool/safe area today. Found some goodies that I'd put out of the way on a shelf and had covered it up. 2 cases of Seller&Bellot 230gr 45. Wonder what else I've mislaid?
  6. Jason Statham is the Boss!! I'll even watch some of the movies where he has hair. Redeption was awesome. Some of the best acting he's done. Oblivion was kinda cool. A little transparent though. Didn't take long to see where it was headed. Watched man of Steel last night. Fair. I'm still undecided about it overall though. But sure beat the heck out of the last Superman installment.
  7. Absolutely. I have a high moisture/humidity situation. I've used a Goldenrod and Remington rechargeable desiccators in both safes for years. As I redo my room where guns, ammo, and tools are stored; I plan on bringing in a dehumidifier. May be overkill, but after a flood you tend to get a little cautious.
  8. Pic of me hanging head in shame. When I bought my first HD years ago, I feel for the hype, I confess. I'm shallow, gullible, and shiny things get my attention. But I did learn. When helping put together a set for my inlaws, I found they had bought a cheap set from Radio Shack. Imagine the crow I ate afterwards. I told them how much they needed the wonder cables. It wasn't a pleasant evening as we watched some great pictures on those "cheapo" cables.
  9. I'd have to do it on the sly, watching Bad Taste, that is. My wife absolutely hates my choices in movies. And just the sound of this one would get me sent to the little tv while she watches Lifetime Movies or some home sales, buying, or remodeling show. But that's a topic for another thread.
  10. Not sure I totally agree with you Tanker. But in any event, BB did garner a lot of attention, viewers, and awards. Not downing the show at all, I do intend to watch it from the beginning this winter. Then I might go from calling it "one of" to "the" best.
  11.   And that's the winning answer!!   I go to look.  Sometimes to try and sell. Mostly just to get a handle on pricing before I buy. Buying new at a gun show can be very risky these days.   You really need to know exactly what you want, what it's worth (to you, not retail pricing), and be capable of overcoming impulse buying.   Sounds good and easy doesn't it?   I usually suck at it.
  12.  Ok, now I have to disagree a bit. I liked District 9. And Battlefield Earth. There. I said it. Didn't particularly rave over Cloverfield. I couldn't get into the camera style. But that's ok. We like different kinds of trashy movies. Haven't seen Bad Taste. Not sure if I want to look that one up. Seems a little far-fetched to me. :squint:  :stunned: LOL
  13. Right on target, Lester. And your comments made me remember Heinlein's story. I loved his writing, at least until he enter his second or third puberty phase and all he could write was sex. Seemed that after the 70s he let his socialist views really come out.
  14. Was it Pa's/Grandpa's? May have the name wrong here. He has some great jerky.
  15. Occasionally...the indoctrination fails.
  16. JMO, but public gun auctions don't seem to bring good values out. Last one I went to was in the early 90s, and it was pathetic what some people would bid up a gun to.   I just stopped going. Not saying you can't find a "buy" now and then, but I tired of all the trouble involved to get one.
  17. Big LOL. I tolerated Sharknado, gave up on Rocknado.   Saw Monsters From Outer Space. It's right up there with Plan 9.    I like to think I've seen most of the really good and bad SF movies from the 50s and 60s.   I was a Teenager from Outer Space/The Brain From Planet Alarus, etc. All the bad "Brain" movies, Teenage Frankenstein, Werewolf, and really bad Teenage Mummy.   And all the creatures, Them! The giant spiders, lizards, and blobs.   And you can depend on those sneaky or is it snarky, Canadians to produce some of the goodies in the current crop of SF channel goodies.   But I do watch a lot of them, sometimes just to piss off my wife in return for all the Lifetime Channel she forces me to listen to. I refuse to watch. I'll read, play here, do something, anything else.
  18. Ah.... that Asylum. Thought I recognized the name. Have seen quite a few of their movies, I confess. (I do have a weakness for really, really bad movies. Nazis at the Center of the Earth, Nazis on the Moon, etc.)   Atlantic Rim looks like it could fit right in there. And I really like Graham Green, but he should be ashamed. (Yes, I watched some clips. That's some really deadpan and awful dialog.)   I'll probable try to watch it.
  19.   I certainly don't wish to see anyone hurt or caught up in this type of attack, but that might cause some thinking on the part of these foolish (?) kids. I really doubt that it would stop the actions of all of them, but just might give a lesson, albeit a terminal one, to a few.   And to make it clear...much more concerned about the attackee than the attacker.   "He who lives by the sword..."
  20. That's what I thought, but had to ask.   I've had the opportunity to shoot several of the Rhino pistols; a 3in, a 5in, and one of the snubbie White Rhino(nickle), that I own. All have performed well and been really interesting to shoot.   No issues of any kind with them. I really liked the 5 inch model. Found it very easy to use and be accurate with. Could be one of my favorite 357 pistols if I should acquire one.   I bought the White Rhino form a buddy who had it as a carry gun for a short time. But he's worse than me, never keeps one of anything for very long. Probably paid too much for it, close to retail at the time, but it's a neat gun.   And I have a weakness for oddities, sorta like my wife does.
  21. Ok. It was fun with Dallas. Then with Newhart. And really funny with Al Bundy. But with Breaking Bad??? Come on...couldn't come up with something better than this?
  22. Luke, I have no real information on the situation with mine. Just seemed that initially, it didn't feed reliably with the 115 grain loads. But after a couple hundred rounds of 124 and 147 grain, it's all good. Now feeding anything I load into it.
  23. Thought I might go this morning and walk a couple around to attempt a sale, but the more I think about it...meh.   A dreary looking day. I think I'll just stay here and organize my ammo.   That shouldn't take long.
  24. :hiding:  I actually liked it. Not saying it was the tightest story ever done...but as todays movies go...not bad.   And on White House Down....I liked it more than Olympus Has Fallen. Pretty much the same story with different actors.
