  1.   Sorry about all that for ya, buddy.   But welcome to my world.
  2.    I've been on both sides of this story.  Growing up, there wasn't a lot of decorating done. Not a lot of extra money to do it with.    As I got older, and married; my wife always wanted to do it up large. Inside and outside.   She had been from a more well-to-do family that always did a lot. The house and yard. Always entered the decorating contests. And her family even won a couple of times in the late 60s.   So we did a little each year. Then a little more. And a little more.   Finally, the year before my cancer hit, we had a huge amount. On the house, on the garage, in the yard, one the shrubs and small trees. Had 20 assorted reindeer; lighted of course. Sleighs, Santas, carolers, and a menagerie of other animals.   Took a month of evenings and weekends to get it all up. I had enough extension cords to power and run lines to a small community. And a major terror to take down and pack away.   That was 5 years ago.   Now...a 6' tree on the front porch, a single strand of lights on the eves, and a small tree in the den. With fireplace mantle done in all wife's Santa figurines.   Maybe not as impressive to the neighbors, but it works for us.     BTW, Caster, I really like what you said. May I wish you an early Merry Christmas and God Bless.
  3. Heck! That's not bad.   Wait til one of the twerpy little mall rats holds the door open for you and calls you Sir.   That hurts.
  4. With enough body, front end damage, and probable engine replacement; it's likely to be pretty hard to get much out of it. I think your best bet would be trying to sell it as a parts car to some of the younger "tuner guys." Is that even still the right word?   A pain I know, but advertise in the dreaded Craigslist. Or if you know some of the car guys; spread the word with them.   Not what you want to hear, but likely it will be considered as a scrap or salvage vehicle; and won't bring much.   Another consideration for you. Where's the car? Was it towed away after the accident? Hopefully not on a tow in lot. Storage fees will eat it up quickly, and unless you can do something quickly, it's possible that a storage lot would attach it for tow and lot fees. And those usually are a per day fee.   Possibly you have the car where you live? In that case the question is...apartment or single family dwelling? Some apartment units/management won't allow damaged vehicles to sit for long. And many communities will give a person grief over non-running vehicles parked on lots. Not very nice, but you probably know of condo/homeowners association rules that get a little strict.   Worst case scenario, call some of the salvage yards in your area. It probably wouldn't be much, but when I was working with some of them; I saw everything from 50-500 offered for wrecks. And these types will usually come and move it for you.   Just watch out for the guys that offer to haul it away for you. They'll make it sound like it's a favor to you...til they tell you that you have to pay them to move it.   I think I've covered all the things I ran into when I was in the parts business. And most of it doesn't sound good, I'm sure.   Maybe someone else here will have some suggestions. I hope so.
  5. Blue Teeth??
  6. Slightly off topic, but like your wall art. I have one of the companion pieces to it.   And the tree looks pretty good too.

  8. Dang! Solar watches?!?!? I am a dinosaur. I had no clue of such a thing. :stunned:  But I haven't worn a watch since 1988 when I got my first portable phone. You know, the brick in a bag type.
  9. Just ask here and someone will help out. LOL Is there anything that can't be identified here?
  10. True. So I guess the sideline business isn't the only thing paying for all those high priced rides with the fancy rims.
  11. Get a pro. It's much safer. It's cheaper in the long run, especially considering your time , rental charges, and the cleanup.   A 36" tree is a bigggg tree to fell safely. And I'd bet it's pretty tall as well. You plan on climbing to cut limbs? It's deadly dangerous.    I'm pretty old, out of shape, and notoriously greedy. But after cutting down a few 18-20 trees on my property, then cutting all the limbs, cutting it up, dragging it off, cleaning up, etc.   Buddy...it ain't worth the time and trouble.
  12. Yes. I believe that the 30-30 has killed more deer than any other cartridge, at least that's what I've been told. Seems that new hunters think that a) the 30-30 is mediocre beginner cartridge but it'll do till they get something bigger and better. Then, B) find that they are no better with something bigger, better, and more expensive than the little ol' 30-30 round. Heck...even I got one. And I've never hunted.
  13. The 1911 platform in 9mm is a blast. Can't really explain why, but I really enjoy it.   Yes, the ammo is a little cheaper, the felt recoil is somewhat less, and thereby somewhat easier to shoot; but I really can't say that is the reason so many people go to the 9mm version on the 1911.   It's just fun.
  14. Thanks, Dan, I figured as much, but was pretty sure someone here would have a comment on it. But with the current climate, I just wanted another opinion.
  15. Yep. That's what I thought as well. And pretty true if you buy one of these.
  16. Great marketing. Should appeal to the socially conscious crowd. Not too sure the tree huggers will like it though.
  17. Thanks, since you got good results; I figured I'd be lazy and ask rather than experiment on my own.
  18. Well...when it's all explained like that...it does make sense. After all, someone has to pay the tax man.
  19. Exactly.
  20. Good comments overall. Lots of people never worked retail and don't understand the things that go on behind the scenes at WW. The pic idea is good. But is it legal/ethical? After all, you are taking a pic of an individual and posting it on a public forum, so I wonder if there would be an legalities involved.

    Season 4

Wife is watching something else, as usual. I'll catch it tomorrow on Infinity. Actually glad to see the Gov back. Should spice things up a bit.
  22. Personal opinion, but I prefer the fmj/ball ammo in my LCP, and in the keltec before I got the Ruger.
  23.   That's the best commentary for these two pistols I've heard. I think I'll steal it and pass it off a mine. LOL
